Faye trembled as she raised her head. She was unyielding. Looking her grandfather in the eye, she reasoned, “Grandpa, I refuse to get down on my knees. I haven’t done anything wrong!”

With a cold expression on his face, George slammed his fist against the table. Furious, he shouted, “What nonsense is this?! Faye, how dare you continue to deny your faults?! Do you really think you can get away without being punished?! I’m going to say this one more time—on your knees!”
