“I have a room, for you to rest. If you don’t mind, I’ll show you.” There he goes again. She’s discerning he would bring her into a dark place again, like last time in the school theater.
She also remembers the dream she had with his face. There have some points of his character that look the same as the man’s character she dreamed of. And the feeling that she had in her dream is being the same as this man in reality.
“I’m good. Don’t bother.” She answered him, pretending like she had no interest. Getting back to her right senses. She ignores the feeling she had earlier.
“Um, if next time you want to sleep in the library, you can hide in that room where no one can bother you.” He insisted, displaying his striking and hypnotizing beam. As she easily swayed by it, discerning to fall on his hands again.
“Even you?” She asked in her thoughts.
“Where’s the place?” But she uttered a different question, expecting her thoughts to happen.
“Follow me. And ask no more questions. Only me and the librarian know this place. So, this is a secret between you and me, okay?”
He enthralled her again as his eyes while glaring at her are enticing her. She just nodded and zipped her mouth. She then followed him like a slave. They headed to the end section of the library. She’s wondering about the place he was talking about. This library is so enormous that it is possible to have a secret room to hide. But to think that she will see it at the very least she expected it, she’s feeling curious and thrilled.
They arrived at their destination. Feeling lost that she sees no room around the corner.
“There’s no room here. How can I rest here?” She grumbled to tease him as she blurted a question. But he ignored her words as he continues his doing.
He is looking for something she doesn’t know. She had a glimpse of his face as she was observing him. He looks edgy and serious. She changed her focus so he does not find her staring at his face.
She eyed the pile of books in the corner. While waiting for him, she points her finger at those books she was fascinated to browse the moment they arrived here.
A minute later, she heard a creak when she found out; he opened a secret door from the end corner. There’s a hidden room at the back end of the library. No one might know it as the pile of old books she was browsing through earlier covers the door.
She went in, following his lead. Eyeing the background of the room, she felt astonished. “This is incredible.” Her mind spoke. It feels like she’s home. The cozy theme of this room brought her into her real-owned room.
And there’re books scattered on the wall. The black and carnation pink color combination of the wall completes her thoughts that this is a girl’s room. She thinks the modern ceiling design highlights the owner’s character as the lighting is basic but stylish in an aesthetic way.
“Who owned this room? I mean, who sleeps here?” She finally asked him after a minute of marveling at the background of the room.
“You can sleep here anytime you want. There’s no possibility that the librarian will sleep here because she already entrusted me with this room and the key. Don’t worry, I’ll give you a spare key.” He explained to her, not answering her question directly.
“You did not answer my question. Who is the owner of this room?” She repeated it, hoping for the right answer.
“The daughter of the director owns this. However, she’s abroad, so the librarian is the one who’s taking care of it while she’s there. I'm a loyal student part-timer here, so she entrusted me with the master key. And of course, to take care of it with cleaning maintenance.”
“Oh, I see. What if the librarian will catch me here while sleeping? How will you explain it to her?” There she goes again, thinking about the what-ifs. Well, she’s just being advanced.
“Um, you’re my girlfriend. It’s okay with her if you’re my girlfriend. So, we should pretend as if we are in a relationship. Don’t worry, she can’t see you because we only have the key.”
What!! As if! No, I can’t do it! She cried in her thought.
“We’re going to pretend, then later it can compromise our student dignity. I don’t think I can do it.” Is she over-reacting? But her thoughts are right. She doesn’t want to become a topic of gossip here.
“If you don’t want to pretend, then you can be my girlfriend in real life. I don’t think it can compromise your dignity as a student if our relationship is legit.” This guy is something! How dare he! She snapped in her thoughts.
“What? In your dreams! Hey, are you flirting with me?” She snapped again, but this time she blurted it.
“What if I am?” Wow, he’s quick. And she was speechless.
Her mind becomes blank, doesn’t able to bring out any words.
Unaware of his action, he suddenly went near her. And his hand touched his face like he could be able to kiss her. His face went closer to her lips with a sluggish gesture.
She closed her eyes, imagining what could he possibly do. When she opened her eyes, his lips suddenly turn aside to only whisper closer to her ear. “What will you do if I am?” He repeated his answer.
Then he jumped on the bed like a child wanting to play as he turned himself away from her because he was only teasing her.
What an asshole, she thinks. She glared at him, raising her eyebrows.
“You know what, you’re not funny! And, I’m not the girl you think.” She assured him.
“But I’m thinking, you are a decent, kindhearted, well-mannered Psychology student. Do you think, you’re not? Come here, sit beside me and prove it.” What was he thinking?
“Prove what?” She’s in her right mind right now to become a victim of his charm.
“That you’re not a girl, I am thinking.” She suddenly realized the thing he just said. Then she noticed him holding back his teasing smile and feigning to be serious. He caught him.
She’s thinking to walk away, but he quickly noticed her getting touchy. Like a superman, he held her hand as she was about to leave. Then he pulled her an inch closer to him.
As she closed her eyes, he did the thing she didn't expect.
“Don’t move your body. I’ll find some help. I promise I’ll get back here.” She reassured him but inside her, she was feeling helpless, panicking, and anxious that she can’t able to help him. They finally escaped from the wild pig. But while running away from it. They fell unexpectedly into a deep hole animal trap. He can’t able to move his body as he used his adrenaline rush to protect her from hurting her body from falling. He pushed her to get her up from the trap, leaving himself in that deep hole. And now, he’s the one who needs some help because he was a gentleboy to her. She left him in the middle of a wild forest to look for help. Every footstep she passed; she’s leaving a trace for her not to lose him. She used twigs she found on her way to fix it on the ground for her to look back on it when she returns to him. The sun is setting down and she feels no ray of sunlight hitting her flesh. She needs to find somebody to help her before the night will show up. Until seconds later
Her school attendance was almost perfect to where she can slack off anytime. Not that bad in her grades if she will be absent at the acquaintance party. She thought so. “Hey, don’t tell me you’re not interested to come?” Her friend’s mind is more advance than her. “Hmm, I’ll be interested if you tell me who will be your date first.” For a very long time, she was her friend, not even at any moment did she remembers her friend was dating any guy. Or maybe her love life was so private for her to know it, even if she was her best friend. Though her friend has five years ahead of her, it is not a reason for her not to tell her about her dating the opposite gender. “I’ll introduce him to you soon, don’t be so excited.” Oh, really. Her eyes broadened in surprise. “Thank God, finally! You allow me to know your dating status. I could say, I’m not a girl anymore but a grown-up individual who’s ready to listen to some relationship matter of my best friend.” She reacted to her friend while tea
You had the sweetest smile I will never forget, even when I grow up. I wrote a journal from the day I met you when you played with me with your true and humble character. Thank you for all the things you helped me get through my difficulties as one pathetic outsider. I wrote every detail for you to remember every day of our days together playing on our favorite spot. Never forget me when I leave. I promise I will return to find you. Please don’t cry if you heard I left this town. My new family will take care of me from now on. I will send you letters to get in touch with you the moment I step foot on the doorstep of my new parents. Goodbye Cara. See you again when we grow old. “I have a favor to ask you for the last time we are cousins. Please give this to Cara after I leave. It will be your conscience if you will be a bad boy again.” It was the first and last favor his cousin Vince asked him before he went to his new family, which gave him the reason to retaliate against him. He’s
Tick Tock, tick tock, tick tock… The only sounds she heard at this moment are her wall clock ticking as she was in her very silent mode in front of her closet, sitting on the floor the whole time she came home from school. As she had already found the thing, she was looking for the last two weeks. Her face and body look like an ice-cold snowman, freezing to death in the middle of Antarctica while staring at the picture of Vince in the sketch. It wasn’t only a resemblance, but they really were looking so much alike. The sketch is really a carbon copy of Vince’s face like he was the model used in the sketch. Giving another thought about it. How did it happen? Yes, she already remembers the dream she had clearly. The thing with him in her dream is such an epic like she was in a fairytale. The question is how can she dream about him before she met him. Knock, knock… She quickly stood up from sitting as she heard a strange knock in her room. “Will?” It surprised her when she opened the
If he wouldn’t have the news before this night happens, his cousin is going to win this time. It’s a good thing he hired an investigator to look for him. Vince never changes, he’s always a nuisance on his way. “Hi, you’re more beautiful tonight. Don’t ask me why I’m here. I just want to see you before the party starts. I know you will be busy with your real date once you’ve entered the door at the party. But speaking of your date, where is he?” He whispered the second statement he said for her parents to not hear it. He is not the villain here, but he thinks Vince knew his place already. The reason he is not yet here. “I actually don’t know what happens. I already called him but only his voice message answered me.” She explained to him, obviously pretending she wasn’t in a mix-up with his cousin. “Hey, sweetie, what’s happening?” Her mother asked her, looking baffled about her daughter’s obviously fidgety face. But for her parents not to worry about her, “Um, it’s just nothing, Mr
“Yes, you two! The party is not over yet but you already leaving, huh?” He cried with his eyes excruciating him to remember the yesterday he went to him with the thing about their past. Cara had no fault about it, even if he scrutinized it repeatedly in his sane mind. Cara was innocent, even if she would remember all the things that happened in their past. The reason he was late and the reason he did not show himself to Cara to fetch her in their house was that he did some realization to reflect on the thing that his cousin told him. That he blamed him for everything. But he can’t remember what happened. He came up with a solution to tell her everything that he knows. He was fast enough to get closer to Cara as he held her hand to guard her against his cousin’s drunken state. “Will?” But Cara turned to his cousin as she looked at him worriedly as he noticed her face was like she was being guilty about his cousin. Despite that, she did not take out her hand from his, as he was still
“I’m sorry.”, he moaned while he pulled his lips suddenly when she was about to react to return the kiss that he did to her. She chuckled with embarrassment and pulled herself from him, as she was an inch closer to his body. “You’re sorry for what?” she questioned him, pretending she was ready to forgive him for what he did. However, her face still blushed in that shameful manner of her. “You know what, I like your cuteness whenever you have that face.” “Can you please tell me now, the thing you’re going to tell me?”, she changed the mood with her eyes narrowed and her brows wrinkled, feigning she was being annoyed by his teasing. “One thing I’ll tell you in advance if you look back in your past. Please don’t blame yourself. Because I’m the one at fault.” His teasing face suddenly changed as he went to being serious, saying all those things with her as he was being vague. “What are you saying?” she asked with her face baffling. “I was going to tell you everything but, I’m still c
“Hey, are you alright? I’m sorry if I didn’t give you heads-up before coming here.” “I’m alright. And it’s fine. By the way, why are you here so early?” She feigned a smile so he to not notice her current emotion about the thing her mom made her a while ago. “Is your mom, okay?” He questioned again with his face looking like he somehow understood the situation, but was still clueless about what was happening. “She’s okay. We only had a little misunderstanding about something, but we’re good. Don’t worry.” She answered him with her uplifting smile to hide her true feelings while her eyes were also waiting for the reason why he went to their house unannounced. “Um, I just want to see you again. I can’t able to sleep last night because I was thinking of you. Am I being so clingy?” He grinned, scratching his head sheepishly. He was straightforward, but handsomely. She beamed quietly, hiding her reaction to him. But she remembered the words of her mother, again, feeling guilty about it.
"Mom, I will tell you. Vince and I, we like each other. I'm saying this not to get your approval but to not lie to you. I'm sorry Mom. I know you would feel disappointed in me. I am mature enough to make my own decision. I remembered my childhood past. Vince and I already talked about it, and he understands everything even about her parents. I was already punished and forgiven. I don't want to blame myself because it wasn't my fault for having a puerile mind." She can't believe it, this is not yet the time to tell her mom about her relationship with Vince. But her mom's ear was like a dolphin's. Her best friend suddenly excused herself and went home early to escape her mom's interrogation. Because she knows, she already saved her when she answered her mom's curious question since it was about her."But, I don't want you to be hurt in the end sweetheart. Vince is a kid who is not destined for you. Cara, he has this condition that specifically you can't be able to handle it if it is tr
"Cara, I have an idea for you to make Vince play with you alone and leave him after. I know a good place." "How do we get there? Do you want to come with us? I'm not sure if I can leave Vince alone. He's my friend, after all.""Look over there! See that big cave? If you can get Vince to go there, you can play with him as much as you want. He might even want to be alone after that. I won't be able to come with you, but I can give you directions. You're a smart princess, I'm sure you'll find your way back here quickly." Will is plotting something for Cara's unsuspecting mind. Vince already anticipates that at any minute she will approach him to carry out Will's deceitful scheme. He turned back quickly to disguise himself from their conversation as he heard them talking about him. A minute later, Cara went to him running her tiny little feet wearing her cute sandals."Hey Vince, let's go on an adventure! I found an awesome place we can explore together. Are you in?""How do you know t
"I don't want to end this." She whispered in her mind when Vince ceased for a moment. Like a wild tigress, she drew him with her alluring play. Unlike those memories in the past that her mind brought, what they are doing right now is not in her wildest hopes to happen. This is very new to her. The emotion she feels rages inside her like a beautiful disaster blasting suddenly. "Oh please, penalize me." She again whispered but in his ear, permitting him to do what he had to from the start of his zeal. She offered herself to him. They filtered those negatives and allowed themselves to give in to their bursting emotion. Allowing themselves to be driven by each other's embrace is the cure for all the wounds they had in the past. She now had this feeling of blaming their parents for what they incurred in their minds because of that thoughtless remorse. Even when she remembered, everything that happened wasn't their fault. Reminding herself of selfishness is not her thing anymore. When she r
She felt uneasy after reading the text sent by the man, who made her heart feel empty just recently. She thought Vince had already cut their connection when he talked to her the last time. And as far as she remembers, they were as good as strangers again when he avoided her every moment she ran into him. Nevertheless, she still found her way to him again when her feet brought her to the hidden room at the library. She looked like she was hypnotized after she read his message. Perhaps she admits to herself that she is missing him. Heading her stride like a fool walking near the end section of the library, she is excitedly feeling nervous. A mixed emotion is raging inside her. She was going inside the hidden room when she sensed a strange atmosphere. She saw Vince on his back and quickly turned around when he heard her footsteps as she entered the room. She suddenly remembered the eyes of someone who was the reason for her fainting from the last time she had been hospitalized. She wa
He headed straight to the cafeteria when he learned her sister was proving her way to bug him much more than he expected. She made an effort by texting him that she was having lunch with Cara. He was planning to come home early, but he felt uneasy about her sister exhibiting her brat-like attitude toward Cara. Looking from afar while walking near them, he saw them looking familiar to each other, but he sensed Cara's face looked like she was just being nice to her sister's undefined character. As if she already knows how to handle her. "I knew you'll find it hard to make friends here easily knowing your snot character, my dear sister. My appreciation for Cara because she could accommodate your type." He bluntly remarked on her sister the instant he went near their table. He was very annoyed by his thoughts of her sister's hidden plans. "Hey, your words!" But Cara understood his words clearly like a harsh brother to her sister. "It's alright Cara, my brother and I are so close enou
Mrs. Perez remembered realizing everything that happened in the past is not her daughter’s fault. It was because of the kid. She remembered Will’s dad, Mr. Anderson, who was sorry to justly revealed and explained to her then about the real condition of his nephew which resulted in his parents’ accidental death. The reason she prevented Cara from getting close to Vince after she learned about what happened in the past. And the reason, she gave her condition to his family was for her to accept her daughter’s fault in the accident. Thus, the real reason she’s still in contact with the Anderson family is for her daughter’s own good. “I thought you made a promise, for my daughter’s sake. What happened to that condition?” “What do you mean?! You know, Vince is not our family anymore. We already cut our connection to him as one of your conditions, for everyone’s sake.” “I wasn’t the one who sold him. Your family was the one who sold him because of his parents’ debt. I didn’t expect you to
“Hey, Vinci!” He knew it. His world will be a mess again because of her. She always annoys him. But he found himself still walking near her table with his today’s lunch. Or maybe he just wants to warn her about being his clingy sister. “From now on, you are not my sister.” Her eyes sparkled like she was waiting for the moment that he will finally cut their connection from each other. He thought, she adores him as her older brother, but why does she look very happy? “Okay. I will tell Dad that we are not siblings anymore because you are now my boyfriend.” As if she can tell it. Her sister is all bluff. He knows her very much to think that she is the more childish. He ignored her and begin to swallow his spoon full of rice and a piece of fried chicken as his viand. “I am not kidding. Since no one knows that you are an adopted son of the school director here. And no one knows that I am his daughter. You can be my fiancé.” She lowered her voice for the reason that others might hear them
“From now on, I am your dad and she is your mom. We are your family now. Forget everything bad that happened in your past. Only remember the good memories with your real parents who gave birth to you. It’s the only thing we cannot change for you. You are only seven-year-old but I know you understand what I mean since you are a smart kid.” The memory he recalled was when his foster dad talked to him the first time after he went with them as his new family. As he also wanted to forget everything that had happened in the accident with his real parents, he followed his dad’s word for him to escape from it. He can’t admit to himself that it was his fault. And his inner side was blaming someone he also treasured from his childhood memories. When he realizes now, he undeniably forgot everything in the past for him to save, condemning the person from his subliminal dark ego. And this person he aimed to blame for his parents’ unfair death is the person he’s still longing to be with, even agai
“You’re going to meet my very first childhood friend. I remember her. The only friend I have before I became your brother.” He finally dared to admit to himself that he forgot his real childhood memories and Cara had a great part of it. And his sister on paper, Lizzy, who’s just arrived from abroad, will be his starting point to speak to her. “At last! I’ve been wanting my whole damn life to meet one friend of yours. Does she know you’re the son of the school’s director? Although I’m the real child of them, you were the first child of our parents the moment they adopted you.” He already knows what she’s thinking as if he knows how their conversation going to end. “That’s why I need you to not be yourself if you meet her, got it?” Because he dislikes her character of being noisy and childish. “Do you like her? You know I can’t shut my mouth when I’m being excited.” That he was expecting. “I’m begging you, please, my pretty little sister?” He implored like a real sweet older brother.
