"Avery Tate! Are you trying to show me how successful you are now?" Elliot's voice was glacial.

Avery was dumbfounded. What did he mean by 'show him how successful I am'?

Then it hit her. Elliot was talking about the change in Tate Tower's price.

"How about the fact that you are trying to sell it to me for a mere forty million dollars?" Avery countered. "Please, I don't need your sympathy!"

Elliot frowned.

He realized then that their relationship had hit rock bottom.

Elliot had bought the building with the intention of giving it to Avery as a gift—back when he thought they could stay together forever.

He had never thought of making money with Tate Tower.

The reason why he was selling it to her for forty million dollars was because there was no reason for him to give it to Avery as a gift. Moreover, she would not accept it even if he did so.

"Fine, we will honor the market price of the tower then!" Elliot said with anger, "You don't need my sympathy, and I don't need you

Avery and Elliot has a love/hate relationship. It will be very interesting when Elliot finds out he has 2 children with Avery. She had every right to hide her pregnancy because of Chelsea's meddling in her marriage. Avery should reach out to Elliot, hand over Shea and collect the reward money.
