A sudden, inexplicable chill shot up from the soles of Leon's feet, gripping his spine with an icy grip. He forced himself to remain composed, his eyes scanning the area around him.

Not far away stood Aric, his expression cold and unreadable. His eyes were locked on Jasper, sharp and unyielding, like the edge of a blade. Further off, in the distance, Leon could see Zalethos, Rose, and a group of high-ranking nobles—all of them wearing expressions of grim seriousness.

“What happened?” Leon’s mind was a storm of questions, but this wasn’t the time for inquiries.

Jasper’s condition was critical. He was slipping in and out of consciousness, his forehead slick with cold sweat, and faint traces of blood at the corners of his mouth.

“No time to waste. We need to get him to the Medical Division now!”

He turned swiftly, pointing at two nearby guards. “You two—carry him to the Medical Division, immediately!”

Leon’s gaze shifted to Elian in the distance. His voice rang out, sharp and urgent. “El

Leon instinctively took a step back, his shoulders pressing against the cold, unyielding wall. His heart thundered in his chest. "You can’t do this! The rules forbid it!"Lisa chuckled softly, her voice dripping with disdain. "Impressive. You’ve only been here a short while, yet you’ve already learned so much."Selena advanced slowly, her eyes glinting with cruel delight. "Too bad… knowing the rules won’t save you from what’s coming tonight."Her hand reached toward him, cold and deliberate, but just as her fingers were about to close the distance—"Stop!" This wasn’t the palace. This wasn’t the safe, familiar place he once knew. This was the Fourth Tier and the Bottom Tier—a ruthless world where the strong preyed on the weak.If he acted recklessly, he might not only fail to save the young man but also end up being dragged into the chaos himself."Stay calm, Leon. Stay calm," he told himself, clenching his fists so hard his knuckles whitened. After a tense breath, he forced down the impulse, swiftly veering off down a side path to avoid the confrontation.Yet even without turning back, the agonized screams behind him clung to his ears, sharp and unrelenting."So, this is the place Aric and the others tried so hard to stop me from coming to."A complicated mix of emotions swirled in Leon’s chest. He wasn’t ignorant of the world’s cruelty, but he hadn’t expected it to be so raw, so brutally blatant. As dusk fell, the Fourth and Bottom Tiers were swallowed by darkness. No streetlights, no lanterns—only the occasional flicker of distant fl

“No… even demons shouldn’t be like this,” Leon whispered, dread gnawing at him. This wasn’t just a simple burn. Something far more insidious was at play.Frantically, Leon rummaged through his bag, searching for anything that could stabilize Aric’s condition. He combined potion after potion, adjusting the formulas in desperation, but none seemed to work. His panic grew with every second that Aric slipped further away.“Think, Leon, think!” His hands trembled as he bit down on his lip. He couldn’t let Aric die—not here, not like this. With a determined breath, Leon stripped off his cloak and any extra layers until he was down to his underwear. Wrapping their remaining clothes around Aric, he pressed his body against him, skin to skin, hoping to transfer as much warmth as possible.“Don’t move, Aric,” Leon murmured, his voice soft but fierce. “I’ll warm you up… I won’t let you go cold on me.”The cave was wrapped in an almost eerie stillness, broken only by the soft crackle of the dwind

The female ghost floated closer, her presence growing colder, her voice lowering to a whisper. "Yes… time is running out."Leon felt an overwhelming sense of urgency wash over him, his chest tightening as though an invisible weight pressed down on him. Breathing became a struggle, each inhale heavy and strained."Wait," he said suddenly, his gaze locking onto the ghost’s pale, translucent eyes. "I need your help with something important." His voice was steady despite the storm brewing in his heart. "Please search every corner of the palace during the full moon. Look for any unusual energy fluctuations or strange presences. We can’t overlook anything."The female ghost was silent for a moment, then gave a solemn nod. "Understood, my kind benefactor. I will help, but the palace is vast. I may need to enlist the aid of other spirits." Her form began to blur, fading into the thick mist, her voice lingering like a fading echo. "Whatever you plan to do, please… be careful."Leon woke with a

The cold rigidity of his restraints clashed seductively with the growing heat spreading within him, creating a contrast both cruel and exhilarating. Under the relentless surge of sensation, Leon let out a series of deep, broken cries—his body trembling, his soul spiraling into an abyss of irresistible surrender.Guided by Aric’s untamed instinct, Leon shed every last inhibition, surrendering himself to the wild, all-consuming tide of pleasure. Aric, like a seasoned warrior on a battlefield of desire, moved with relentless precision, meticulously exploring every spark of passion. No inch of Leon’s body was left untouched, each sensitive spot transformed into a battleground of ecstasy, conquered again and again with unyielding devotion.Leon’s body, under Aric’s command, tensed and relaxed in rhythmic waves, each collision sending ripples of pleasure coursing through him like an unstoppable tide. Leon was about to retort when a sudden thought struck him. His body tensed, and without warning, he sat up abruptly, his expression sharp and focused. His eyes narrowed, a flicker of urgency flashing across his face. "Wait. Aric… what exactly is beneath Lady Lisa’s residence?"Aric blinked, still half-drowsy, and answered lazily, "Selena’s workshop. Why?""Never mind that. Just answer my questions," Leon said, his gaze unwavering, his voice low but pressing. "Now tell me… what’s the real story behind you sneaking into Selena’s workshop?"Aric’s smile deepened as his sharp eyes gleamed with amusement. "How do you know about that? Impressive, Leon. You’ve been busy—digging up secrets and all.""Don’t try to change the subject!" Leon snapped, reaching out and pinching Aric’s waist with surprising precision. "Spill it!""Alright, alright!" Aric laughed, catching Leon’s mischievous hand in his own, though his tone grew more serious. "Yes, I did sneak into her workshop. At first, it was to

"Elian! I need to find Elian!"Leon didn’t hesitate for a second. He turned and sprinted toward the Medical Division, his steps fast and uneven, heart pounding painfully in his chest from both exhaustion and the weight of his emotions. He burst through the doors without knocking. Elian stood at a long table, a stack of potion analysis reports in his hands, completely absorbed in his work.“Elian!” Leon’s voice came out urgent and breathless. “Aric’s been arrested.”“What? Arrested? I’ll—” Elian froze mid-sentence, the shock clear in his eyes. It was obvious he hadn’t heard the news yet.“No, listen! I don’t need you to go to him right now. You have to analyze this.” Leon thrust a small vial into Elian’s hands, his words tumbling out in a hurried rush. "I need you to figure out who’s been making this potion recently. It’s critical. Even if it’s not directly related, it might give Aric a way out—an excuse to cooperate and mitigate whatever punishment he’s facing. This kind of potion bei

The wind howled fiercely at the mountain’s peak, whipping against Leon’s cloak as he stood at the summit, gazing down at the royal palace below. Without a word, he gently ruffled Leon’s hair, his touch impossibly soft.“Believe in yourself,” he murmured, his voice carrying a quiet magic that soothed as much as it reassured. “And believe in me who believes in you.”Leon stiffened, a sharp jolt striking through his chest as if something had collided with his very core.No one had ever trusted him like this before.Taking a deep breath, he steadied himself, forcing the turmoil in his heart to settle. The rigor of the law and the reduction in crime rates had become his most difficult challenge. Simply relying on education and increasing the work output of the lower tiers didn’t seem to offer a complete solution to the deeply ingrained issues."What exactly should I do…"Every time that question arose, he would throw himself into hours of reading legal documents, historical records, and security management plans from various regions. He was determined to find an effective path forward, but despite all his efforts, he found no breakthrough in inspiration. The Enforcement Division’s task wasn’t any easier. They seemed more like an “enforcement agency” rather than one capable of proactively altering the security environment.Leon realized he had hit a deadlock. That day, Leon had been expecting the latest updates from the Enforcement Division. As he pored over several legal tomes, searching for a breakthrough, the person who arrived wasn’t from the Enforcement Division at all—it was Ar

His voice lowered slightly, laced with just the right amount of temptation, striking at the very core of these officials’ ambitions, “Or—are you willing to take a small calculated risk to create a system where palace life and resources don’t just remain steady—but continuously grow?”“After all, we’re talking about a low-cost, high-return investment… aren’t we?”At those words, many officials’ expressions shifted. The hesitation that once clouded their faces gave way to murmured discussions.Someone muttered thoughtfully, “...If this boosts overall productivity, then it might be worth trying.”“And besides, whether it succeeds or not, we don’t have to leave the palace ourselves. All we need to do is allocate resources.”“In the long run, if this increases material output and reduces the palace’s dependency on existing stores… it’s a viable strategy.”Seeing this, Leon tapped his fingers lightly against the table, his tone calm and measured, “Ladies and gentlemen, I don’t need you to d

After becoming an advisor to the Four Major Divisions and the deputy head of another, Leon took Caelum on a series of visits to various divisions where he had acquaintances—places he was familiar with but seldom engaged with daily.Their first destination was the Education Division.Leon had been here a few times before. Initially, it was out of curiosity while researching the history of the Blackwood Continent. He had encountered some questions and, on a whim, decided to seek answers here. What he hadn’t expected was that his inquiry would lead him directly to the division’s head.At first, the head hadn’t placed much expectation on him. But as their conversation unfolded, he was taken aback—this human was not just a physician. His knowledge was extensive and well-grounded, and in certain areas, he had delved into depths even the local scholars had never considered. They found themselves surprisingly in sync. The head, impressed by Leon’s intellect, chose not to withhold anything and

Leon took a deep breath and told Aric about the hidden door in Selena’s workshop.Aric’s eyes darkened slightly. "…This isn’t something we can rush. It needs careful planning."Leon smiled. "Then I’ll leave it to you."Aric pressed a kiss to his forehead. "Sure."The next morning, Leon yawned, fastening his outer robe as he made his way toward the door. Another ordinary day awaited him—returning to his work at the medical division, digging further into records about the Demon God, or perhaps reviewing intelligence reports from outside the palace. But just as his fingers brushed the door handle, a sudden, violent tremor erupted from the desk behind him. It was the book from Zalethos. —Buzz! Buzz! Buzz! The vibrations were so intense that the entire desk shook, dust scattering into the air. It was as if some ancient and formidable power was about to break free.Leon whipped around, his gaze sharp and wary as he stared at the book. “…What is it this time?” he muttered under his breath, c

Someone was behind this. Someone with knowledge, resources, and an agenda.Aric knew that if he wanted to put an end to the chaos, he had to uncover the mastermind pulling the strings. At the same time, Leon remained immersed in his work as head of the Medical Division. His days were filled with treating patients, developing new remedies, and refining potions—an endless cycle of responsibility that left little room for rest. Yet, in the hidden corners of his mind, another task quietly took root.He had begun a secret investigation of his own—one that sought to uncover the true definition of “sin” and “crime”.More and more, he found himself frequenting the halls of the Religious Division and Judicial Division. The clergy had grown accustomed to his presence. After all, Leon was an anomaly—a human not only surviving in the heart of the demon capital but thriving, having risen to lead the Medical Division and even become engaged to the crown prince. His existence alone was enough to shi

His words rang out with undeniable authority, each syllable hammering home the truth with an almost regal finality. No one dared speak, not even those eager to condemn.Zalethos leaned back, his expression unreadable for a moment before a knowing glint flickered in his eyes. Rising from his seat with deliberate calm, he adjusted his robes and declared, "In that case, let today’s trial come to an end."Lisa, standing nearby, looked like she wanted to protest, her lips parting to speak. But Zalethos cut her off with a well-timed cough, one hand subtly motioning to Rose for support. "I’m feeling a bit fatigued," he said with a faint smile. "I believe it’s time for me to rest. You may all withdraw."The court took the hint, bowing respectfully before filing out. One by one, the crowd departed, the tension gradually dissipating into a calm hum.Yet amidst the dispersing crowd, Leon’s keen eyes caught a fleeting detail—a shift in the air, a shadow across a single face.Jasper stood frozen i

The voices in the hall surged like relentless waves, crashing one after another against the minds of the still-hesitant judges. Jasper’s gaze deepened, his brow furrowing slightly. It was clear to him—the tide had turned. Almost everyone now stood in favor of Leon’s innocence.Slowly, he stepped forward, preparing to speak and declare Leon free of all charges. But just as the words were about to leave his lips, a cold, measured voice cut through the air."Wait."All eyes turned toward Lisa as she emerged from the crowd. Her steps were calm, steady, and deliberate, her gaze sharp and unyielding as it locked onto Aric and Leon. There was no warmth in her tone—only a chilling objectivity, as if she were dissecting a body on an operating table."Even if ignorance can be forgiven, even if he redeemed himself, and even if his physician’s heart saved Morgana," she said, each word slicing through the hall with surgical precision, "we cannot deny that he did make a serious mistake at the start

Her words crashed into the hall like a hammer, silencing the room in an instant. The once-building hope and warmth were abruptly chilled. A tense, suffocating stillness settled over the grand chamber.Jasper’s brow furrowed slightly. He crossed his arms, clearly torn. He had no desire to deal harsh punishment to Leon, but Selena’s accusation hung in the air, undeniable. His hesitation was evident—his eyes flickered between Leon and Selena, his thoughts visibly conflicted. Then, amid the suffocating silence, a voice rang out—cold, calm, and razor-sharp.“Attacked by her own pet—who else is there to blame?” The words cut through the tension like a knife through the taut fabric. Heads turned instantly toward the source of the voice, every eye-locking on its owner. At the grand hall’s entrance, a figure emerged from the shadows, his every step steady and deliberate.
