"LYRA, LYRA, Wake up, what's wrong? What happened? Wake up. Am I going to have to slap you?" Vega was shaking me and screaming in my face.
Did I fall asleep? Oh no, he will come out naked in all his glory. My eyes burst open to see Vega's scared face. My right brow raises, "What's going on? I just fell asleep, I guess, but you need to leave. He'll be coming back soon, and I don't want you seeing him naked," I said as I glanced towards the bathroom.
"Lyra, you screamed, really loud. We thought you had hurt yourself somehow," Vega exclaimed.
Vega turned to look at Jace, who was leaning against my door frame. Her gaze quickly darts towards the bathroom. Then back to me with an excited look on her face. She bounced in the bed and started clapping her hands excitedly.
"Oh My Goodness, you and Steven finally had sex, Lyra; how do you feel? YAY," Vega screamed excitedly.
I gave her an annoyed look, and I hoped he would wait in the bathroom until he knew Vega and Jace had left.
"What, no Vega, not Steven?" I said in an embarrassed tone as I felt my face heat up.
I'm sure I'm red as a tomato right now. Vega glanced over at Jace yet again. Then back at me with the craziest confused look on her face.
"What, I don't understand; if not Steven, then who...?" Vega whispered out and trailed off into thought.
"Steven broke up with me. We got close, but I wasn't ready. I didn't want to lose my virginity while I was tipsy. I'll tell you the details later, but Steven left," I choked out as tears welled up in my eyes.
Her eyes grew wide, and she scrunched her face into her pissed-off look; Vega was now angry.
"Now, prepare yourself because you're going to think I'm nuts after telling you what happened next," I explained while I shrugged my shoulders. Vega stared at me, and I could see her brain working.
"Well," I let out a little giggle. I couldn't help it, I was excited, and I couldn't form words.
"On with it, Lyra, I'm exhausted, and I have to get up with Jace in the morning," Vega said, annoyed.
"Ok, ok," I said as I blew out a breath. Here it goes. "Short version, details later," I said as I waved my hand around; I sat up and bounced on the bed.
"Ok, so after Steven left, I came up and relaxed a bit in the bath. I came to bed afterward and passed out. I woke up to some stranger, who I'm guessing was sleepwalking. I was afraid at first, but oh my goodness, he was so handsome and the sweetest. He took care of me; I lost my virginity to a stranger. It was amazing, he's in the bathroom right now, and we're going to go for round two, I think," I said as I bounced around. Vega looked at Jace, and he ran to the bathroom.
"LYRA, this makes no sense whatsoever. Some creeper came in here and took advantage of you, and" Vega trailed off as Jace came back into the room pissed.
"There's no one there," Jace yelled as he ran out of the room and ran down the stairs.
Vega and I stared at each other questioningly. I don't understand. He should have been in there. Vega grabbed my hands, and we sat and waited for Jace to come back. About ten minutes later, Jace barged back through the door.
"The deadbolt was locked, and the alarm was on. The kitchen door was also locked. The alarm would have gone off if anyone had broken in," Jace said in a questioning tone as he looked back and forth between Vega and me.
I glanced over to the floor where my nightgown and that man's underwear should be. To see nothing and then removed the sheet from my top half. To reveal that I still had my nightgown on. Tears welled up in my eyes and started streaming down my cheeks. I took in a deep breath and started balling. I heard Jace's phone go off, and he walked out to answer it, to give us some privacy.
"Oh honey, I guess it was all just a dream," Vega whispered as she hugged me and then wiped my tears from my face.
All I could do was nod. I can't believe it was all a dream. It all seemed so natural. I should have known, considering all of the sparks and colors that seemed to radiate around us the whole time. The man had shown up out of nowhere.
"I'm going to go to bed, and we'll talk more later about everything. Try and get some rest." Vega said as she gave me another strong hug, got up, and walked back to her room.
I understood because Vega would be going with Jace tomorrow to meet up with his brother and all of his cousins. Vega wanted to see some of their work. Jace is their architect, and they built our house. Jace hasn't said anything to them yet, but Vega and I hope they can start constructing a rehabilitation hospital for us in the next couple of years. I'm also supposed to go, but I don't think I will feel up to it.
Some warm milk was needed to help me fall back to sleep, so I got out of bed and walked down the hall to the stairs. Once I reached the stairs, I flicked on the light to not stumble down the stairs in the dark. That would be my luck, and I tend to trip on air.
Once I reached the bottom of the stairs, I flicked the light on in the living room and walked across to the kitchen. I turned the light on in the kitchen and walked over to the cabinet to grab a cup. I walked over and bent down, and held the stool we had under the sink. Once I positioned the stool where I needed it, I climbed up and then grabbed a small pan from the pan holder hanging from the ceiling. I'm not short, but not tall enough to reach the pans without a stool. I climbed down from the chair and walked over to place the pan on the stove. Then walked across to retrieve the milk from the refrigerator. I poured some milk into the pan and turned the burner on to low heat.
While I was waiting for my milk to warm up, I thought back on the events that had unfolded tonight. The more I thought about Steven, the more I realized I should have ended things sooner. I knew after a month; that Steven wasn't the one for me. I didn't want to be alone. So I trudged on, thinking my feelings would change in time. I broke his heart, and I feel bad for it, but I do not love him. I care for him, yes, but love, no.
Now to the dream. I'm heartbroken it wasn't real. The way I felt in this dream, the things I saw. It was so real. This dream had to have been the universe showing my soulmate to me. Why else would I have a dream about someone I've never met before in my life? He's out there somewhere; I know it. If we had exchanged names as he wanted, would I be able to find him somehow? So stupid, I mentally slapped myself at the thought.
I glanced down to see that my milk was bubbling a bit. So I took it from the pan and poured it into my cup. I took a small sip to make sure it was not too hot, and it was perfect. I walked over to the dining room table, set my cup down, pulled out a chair, and plopped myself down. I'm emotionally and mentally exhausted. I hope this warm milk helps me go back to sleep.
I finished my milk and just left the glass there. Usually, I would clean it out and put it up, but my eyes were already growing heavy. I walked over and turned off the light in the kitchen, then turned off the living room light. Then onwards up the stairs. I turned off the light to the stairs once I reached the stairs and made my way to my room. It's quiet in Vega's room, so I knew they've made it to bed and are fast asleep.
I made my way to my bed. I don't think I will make it to the ranch house with Jace and Vega. Nine a.m. is way too early for being up so late. I passed out just as soon as my head hit the pillow.
BLAZE*
VEGA*
BLAZE*I managed to get here fifteen minutes early. I had been pacing back and forth in front of the large ranch house. Someday I hoped to have a ranch house in the country like this one, where my wife and three-plus kids would reside. I frowned at the thought. At this rate, I would be lucky ever to have a
LYRA*
BLAZE*
BLAZE*Everyone had returned. Vega ran up to Jace and gave him a quick hug and kiss. They walked over and sat where Vega was seated between Jace and me. I wondered where Jace and Tanner had taken off to? They hadn't said where they were going when they left. However, Jace had asked me to keep Veg
JACE*With Vega gone, I thought this would be a great time to talk to dad. "Mr.Riley, sir, can I talk to you for a moment in private?" I asked. Richard stood up and bent over to kiss Rebecca."Would you like some coffee, sweety?" Richard asked Rebecca."No, love, I think I'm fine for now," Rebecca said."Alright, son, let's go over to the cafeteria, and we will have a chat," Richard said as he flung his arm around me, and we headed out the door.Once we arrived at the cafeteria, Richard and I grabbed a coffee cup; and decided on straight black coffee. We found a table for two and sat down, and sipped our coffee. Even though Richard's like a dad to me, I was nervous. I wanted my talk with Richard to be perfect, like when I proposed to Vega."Well, son, let's have it; what's going on?" Richard asked.I took a sip from my coffee and set the cup back down on the table."Well, sir, you know that Vega and I have been together for six months. We spend pretty much all of our free time together
BLAZE*I sat at my desk on a Saturday morning and tried to calm my nerves. Taylor, our office manager, had left Thursday with no explanation. I don't know how the office would run smoothly without her. Jace, Tanner, Conner, and Wade would be arriving soon.I'm so glad this happened when we were all on a break. The guys and I knew that we would hire crews to split up and run our units. We have been so busy building and landscaping that we hadn't realized how backed up we were getting. That might be why Taylor left because we were all constantly in the field. Taylor had been here alone to cover the office. Jace had been here now and then when he worked on building designs, but other than that, Taylor must have been lonely. I've got to hand it to Taylor, though; she kept the office clean and in order. Taylor had been trying to tell us for a few months that building operations had been piling up. None of us had taken the time to listen, though. I looked at four mansions that needed to have
DIANA*It has been twenty-five years since it all started. When the beautiful Auburn-haired, green-eyed Riley twins walked into Blaze and Jace's lives. Lyra and Vega are the daughters I myself could never have, but I have been blessed beyond measure to have them both in my life.Between Jace and Vega, then Lyra and Blaze, then Tanner and Kaysen, I now have eighteen grandchildren. Blaze and Lyra have eight of those, and I do believe the only reason why they stopped is that the last time Lyra became pregnant, it resulted in her having another set of twins. Blaze had told me on several occasions when he was in college that he wanted a big family, and now as I gaze around at my massive family, I see he has all he ever dreamed of."Blaze, Lyra, get your family together so the photographer can get a picture of you with your dad and me," I called out over the crowd.Every year at Christmas time, we have a massive family reunion, and I always make sure to have several photographers around to
SIX MONTHS LATER*WADE*Taylor made it back to work after taking three months off to spend with Nathaniel. Samantha had also gotten Luke over his disdain over our relationship, and Samantha has cared for Nathaniel daily while we are at work. We have all bonded and have started going back to Luke's church.Blaze was beyond ecstatic when Taylor returned. The temp who had worked in her place while she was gone couldn't hack it. The office had turned into a shit show, to be honest, but we all somehow made it through. Connor, Jace, and I did most of the temp's work while she mainly just answered calls and forwarded them to us, and filed paperwork as an average secretary would. Three months of being stuck in the office and not doing any fieldwork had us all pent up—even Jace, who spent most of, if not all, of his time in the office.Blaze didn't win in the Mayor's election, but he came in close, losing by only a couple hundred votes, and that in turn brought in a whole slew of new clientele
TAYLOR*It's a good thing Torrance made sure all the equipment was set up in the bathroom before leaving. I had gotten up, and Wade, Connor, and I went for a stroll. My feet were so swollen, though. So after thirty minutes of walking, we went back home. I pounced on Connor and Wade just as we walked through the door, and we made love. It was mind-blowing sex that had my whole body trembling each time I came. When I got up to go to the bathroom, my water broke and gushed out onto the floor.Wade ran to fill up the bathtub as Connor called Kimberly, who said she would call Torrance and not to worry that they would both be there within ten minutes or so. Connor walked me to the bathroom and sat me on a closed toilet lid while he went out to clean up the floor, and Wade and I waited for the bathtub to fill up."Are you having any contractions?""No, but I need to use the restroom. Can you give me a minute, please," I usually wouldn't care if he stayed, but my stomach was on fire like I wa
Five Months Later🌶🌶🌶CONNOR*I helped Taylor out of the bathtub, and my cock sprung to the sight of her body. Pregnancy suits her, she is so damn sexy, Wade, and I can't seem to get enough of her. Pregnancy hormones have her jumping us any chance she gets. The last five months have been magical, and I never wanted it to end."Where's Wade?""He went out to get you the mint chocolate chip ice cream and pickles you were asking for,""He didn't have to do that; I could have waited,""Nonsense, what our love wants, she gets,""Do we have time for a quicky? I don't want to wait; I need you inside me now, Connor," Taylor demanded and rubbed her hand over my boxers, grinning when she felt my erection."Mmm, yes, babe, I'm going to cum so deep inside you it'll make your head spin," I said as I licked droplets of water from her neck down to her nipples.Taylor gripped the edge of my boxers and pulled them down, and gripped my length in her hands as I stroked her soft wet folds and sucked ea
TAYLOR*My parents have been asking for answers since Saturday. What possessed me to hug and kiss Connor out in the open? Oh yes, he's the love of my life, and he was hurt. At the time, I didn't care who saw; I had to be there for him. Now, after everything that has happened over the last couple of months, I'm tired of hiding the fact that I am with both Connor and Wade. If anyone has a problem with it, they can forget we exist, and that includes my parents. It's our time for happiness, and I'm not going to let anyone taint what we have."Alright, the moment of truth; you guys ready?" I asked Connor and Wade before opening the front door.We all took a deep breath, and Connor and Wade bent and kissed my cheeks, and then I turned the handle. Mark came running around the corner, excited to see all of us. It's crazy that he would turn five in five months; where had the time gone? Instead of running to me, he ran straight into Connor's arms."You were like Superman coming to save the day.
CONNOR* Today is our last day off from work, and the day we get to see and hear a heartbeat. Initially, I wasn't going with Taylor and Wade, but they insisted I go with them. Taylor emphasized that we would all be raising the baby together, so we needed to go through this experience together, and Wade agreed with her. So, in the end, I decided to make them both happy. "Hey babe, it's time to wake up, love. I have omelets waiting in the dining room; they will get cold. Can you wake Wade up for me? Im going to go get some toast and juice ready," I said as I kissed Taylor on the nose and ran my fingers through her hair. Taylor grinned and went to work to get Wade up as I returned to the kitchen. As usual, I was the first to crawl out of bed this morning. Her appointment was set for ten o'clock, so we didn't have much time before we needed to get ready to leave, but I wanted to make sure Taylor ate before we left. She is growing a human being inside her; I couldn't let her go around st
TAYLOR*Connor was released around five o'clock in the evening after being stitched up, having his MRI, and a bag of IV fluids with pain killers. He was lucky to have not broken any ribs, only bruising around the area where Aaron had jabbed and kicked him. Connor had, however, broken a couple of fingers and fractured his wrist. The MRI only showed a mild concussion, and no other injuries were reported. Aaron, however, showed no signs of improvement when we left. I was told I would get a call when the time came that he would be going into surgery. I was also told he would most likely never fully recover.Wade and I had left to get Jackson, Connor, and Wade's dad when some police officers showed up to get Connor's accounts of what had happened earlier that day. He would not be facing any jail time because there was too much evidence showing that he was defending himself and doing what he could to protect Mark.Connor, Wade, and I decided we would keep our relationship under wraps for no
TAYLOR*"You shouldn't have kissed me like you did; your parents were right there and saw the whole thing," Connor said as he winced in pain. "And they didn't look too happy about it. Of course, it could also be the fact that I might have very well killed Aaron. He was breathing when they took him," Connor said grimly.I couldn't quite place if it was because he was actually in pain or he felt terrible about Aaron, that held a permanent scowl on his face. As far as my parents go, they would have figured it out eventually, so why not get everything out in the open now?I don't know how I feel about Aaron at this point. I've been his only family besides the bureau for the last ten years and the last five years; he has treated me like gum you find stuck to the bottom of your shoe. Aaron's whole family, his parent's and four younger siblings died from carbon monoxide poisoning in their home when Aaron was 25 and away at college. He has no surviving family to this day. I suppose I'll be th
CONNOR*I watched as Wade drove off with our wife and wished that I could be driving off with them right now. A pang of jealousy rocked through me. Though I got the privilege of walking Taylor down the aisle, I would never get to enjoy the whole experience of getting married. I would never be able to say those vows and put a wedding band on her finger. I would never be able to boast about her being my wife. I was always going to be a secret because no one would ever be able to handle the fact that all three of us were one.As I was wallowing in self-pity, I heard screams coming from the playground. I saw that Aaron had grabbed Mark and was running with him like a man gone crazy. I ran like my life depended on it; I wasn't sure how to keep Mark from being harmed."Aaron put Mark down now! Aaron stop! You don't want to harm your son; put him down," I yelled as I caught up to Aaron and ran alongside him. "Aaron, stop and put Mark down NOW!" I commanded, and Aaron stopped with a look of d
