"Hi," Andrea said with a small wave.

I frowned. "I asked a question, Andrea. What are you doing here?"

"Can we talk?" She asked in a soft voice.

I opened my mouth to speak but I closed it when I felt Lucas's body press against my back. I saw Andrea's eyes widen at his sight and I did not miss the way her eyes swept over his bare body. I could not help but move to the side to cover up the rest of his body visible to her wandering eyes. She looked away and smiled.

"I told you not to come back to my house, Andrea. What the fuck are you doing here now?" Lucas demanded in a terse tone.

Andrea bowed her head and played with her fingers; a nervous gesture. I crossed my arms when she looked up and sighed.

"Can we talk inside, please?" She looked over her shoulder when people passed by, talking and laughing amongst themselves.

"Fine-"

"Jackie, why would you say that?" Lucas asked over my shoulder.

"She'll just say what she has to say and that's it," I said to him and he groaned behind me,

[|]Later that weekend, we arrived in a small town in Barbados. I had been asleep when the rented SUV we took drove us to the house we would be staying in. It was when I felt a gentle tap that I opened my eyes and saw the crashing waves brush the white sands of the beach close to the houses a few feet away. Once the driver slide the door open, I got out and ran straight to the breezy beach. My dress fluttered aggressively from the strong breeze, as well as my hair as I stared at the waves rolling before me. Birds were flying around in the sky some almost flying close to the surface of the water. Just a few feet away from where I stood were some canoes rocking on the water. The place was serene as I looked further. There were palm trees spread all around with people or empty benches under the shades. Children were running around in the back, playing and laughing out loud. I could even hear the faint sounds of music carried by the breeze. I felt at peace, relaxed and excited."Couldn'

[|]The sound of the front door sliding shut, made me tie the rope of the bathrobe I was wearing. I ran my fingers through my long hair before leaving the bathroom to the room where I saw Lucas standing with two paper bags. He was backing me so when he turned around, his eyes swept over my body before he smiled."I'm sorry for staying out for too long. I was trying to figure out my way around this area," he said and dropped one of the paper bags on the floor before raising the other. "What's that?""Your swim suit or suits. I didn't know which one would suit you so I bought five different ones. But knowing you, you'd look beautiful in all. You're Jackie after all," Lucas said and nibbled on his bottom lip.I rolled my eyes and made my way to him then took the bag from his fingers. I looked inside and saw different colored patterned and plain materials. I smiled and hugged the bag to my chest before looking up at him. His blue eyes were full of curiosity and I couldn't help but giggle

I had wanted us to tour around town together after having fun on the beach and suddenly he had something to do. It was so disappointing because I had wanted to experience what it felt like to tour a beautiful place with your boyfriend. I've seen it on social media and in movies but now, it isn't going to come to pass. Not that we won't have two more days here but I didn't expect this disappointment."Hey, don't be sad," he said and held my face between his large hands. I frowned at him and looked aside with my arms crossed. When he chuckled, I glared at him with narrowed eyes. "You look so cute when you're angry. Anyway, it's something important and I can't ignore it. You'll go with the tour guide, okay?" He leaned down and kissed my cheek. "Please, baby? Smile for me?"I scoffed and rolled my eyes whe

[|]I heard the chirping of birds and a cool breeze on my skin as I felt the weight of sleep leaving my body. I opened my eyes and the first thing I saw was Lucas's face. He was still asleep with his lips parted and his shoulders rising up and down. I rolled onto my side and smiled. He looked peaceful as he slept, reminding me of a child. I raised my hand toward his face and shifted a lock of his hair off his forehead. He jerked a bit and turned his head away. I stifled my laughter as he backed me.I shook my head and lay on my back, staring at the ceiling. I curled my fingers and that was when I felt a heavy feeling on my finger which reminded me that Lucas had given me a promise ring. I felt my cheeks heat up at the memory of last night and how he had confessed to loving me. I raised my hand and stared at the diamond ring. It looked so real and I knew it was real because Lucas would do such a thing. He was so crazy to buy such an expensive ring that wasn't even for a marriage propo

[|]I ended the call when my heartbeat increased. I was not strong enough to talk to my mother who did not care about me almost a year ago before I left Redside to train myself in school. I switched off my phone and went to the kitchen."Who was that?" Lucas asked and took a sip out of his orange juice.I ignored his question and grabbed my morning-after pill from the counter. I popped it onto my palm and dropped it inside my mouth then downed it with a glass of water. I glared at him and then pointed my finger at his face."What?" He asked, chuckling."You need to learn how to pull out, you oaf," I said and he smirked."Well, you can't blame me. You feel too good and when I'm in the moment, I lose control of myself. Sorry, babe," Lucas said with a wink.I grimaced and rolled my eyes away from his face. I exhaled as I thought about hearing my mother's voice. It was still the same, soft yet controlling in some way. I still wondered why she wanted to see me. First, she cleared my studen

[|]"So, what are you going to do now?" Lucas asked the moment I narrated everything to him."I don't know. This is just so weird for me right now," I said, rising from the bed and crossing the room. I stopped at the small balcony in the room and leaned against the door frame, taking in the mixture of lights coming from the buildings all around."You don't need to feel too obligated to do anything that you're not ready for. Besides, you don't need to just accept everything so soon. Give yourself time as you said," Lucas said.I heard him approach me then he wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me into his warm chest. I sighed and leaned into his body, feeling up the warmness emitting from his body. I shivered when I felt his soft lips press on my shoulder."I'm also happy that Martinez is dead. Does that make me a horrible person?" I asked and he tightened his hold around me."No, it doesn't. It only proves that he was a bad person that deserves no sympathy, even when he is layin

"Come play with us," Axel said."Yeah," Lucas added in a distracted voice.I grimaced at them before rolling my eyes. Another full week had gone by yet I was either waking up, going to sleep, eating, watching TV, and repeat. It was getting tiring. I had even started adding weight because I was overeating these days and being lazy. I was not used to this lifestyle. I was either out there working.I gasped and dropped the chip in my hand. I smacked my hands clean and walked toward them. I stood in front of them, blocking the screen. They glared at me and tilted their heads, trying to look past me. They growled in unison and glared harder at me."Babe, get out of the way," Lucas demanded."No," I said and crossed my arms.Axel scoffed and tossed the controller beside him. I smiled and faced Lucas."I have something to say," I said and stood closer to Lucas."What is it?""

"Do you have an umbrella with you?" My mom asked and I shook my head. "How are you going to get home?""I'll order a ride home, mom. Don't worry. You should probably start heading back to your hotel before it starts to rain," I said, and as if on cue, heavy rain drops fell onto us.I squealed at the cold drops wetting my clothes. I lifted my jacket and used it to cover my head then ran with my mother to a tree. We stood under it, alongside two other people. "This is such an unexpected rain," my mom said, wrapping her arms around her body.I shuddered when a wave of cold passed through my body, causing painful goosebumps to rise on my skin. [|] The next day, we were back to the hotel we had been in before Maddy captured me. When I woke up, I felt an odd feeling at the thought of Maddy being dead. Even though she ended up betraying me, she had been part of my life and it made me a little sad that she had to end the way she did. I pushed away the feeling and sat up on the bed. I looked at the other side of the bed and smiled at a sleeping Lucas. He was facing the other way, bare-chested. I leaned forward and ran my hand over his smooth chest. He moved his body a little but didn't wake up. I rested my chin on my palm and stared at him. His jawline was covered with very light beards and I pictured him with a full beard. He would look handsome with it and more mature as I imagined him with a trimmed beard. It made me smile as I focused on his hair which was a bit longer. I began to imagine our life together with a child running around the house. I smiled wider at the imagination. "All I want is happiness from here on ou

[|]"Hey."I flinched at the sound of Lucas' voice. I turned away from the floor-length window in the hallway of the hospital and faced him. He was looking stressed out with bags under his eyes, scattered hair, and pale skin. I wouldn't be surprised if I was matching his look."How are you?" I asked, walking up to him. I opened my arms for a hug and he came into it and I wrapped my arms around him. He lowered his height and rested his head on my shoulder."I'm so tired and I'm sure you are too," he said and hugged me back."I'm better now that I know Axel is fine," I said and pulled away from him.Axel had gone into surgery the moment we arrived at the hospital and it's been hours since we arrived. Barry had not left the door of the operating room. I could see how much they loved Axel. "You need to sleep. You are stressed from everything," Lucas said and cupped my face."I'm kinda hungry though," I said with a smile. "I need a nap but I won't do all these until I'm sure that Axel is

[|] The loudness of the gun was ringing in my ears and I could barely hear my heartbeat. I was frozen on top of Maddy as I felt fear move through me. I gulped and wondered why I couldn't feel anything, I was numb. I rolled away from Maddy and looked down at my stomach. There was blood on my shirt but I couldn't feel any wound. It was when I looked at Maddy, that I realized the blood belonged to her and not me. She had a bullet hole in her chest while the gun was slack in her hands. Her eyes were wide as her chest moved up and down quickly. I rose to my feet, holding my stomach out of fear and protecting the baby in me. "Jackie?!" I looked up at the sound of a new voice. I saw Lucas staring at me with fear in his eyes. He ran up to me and cupped my cheeks"Jackie, you're shot," he said. I snapped out of my shocked state and shook my head. "No... Not me," I replied and looked down at Maddy who was laying on the ground, still breathing. Lucas furrowed his eyebrows and slowly fol

[|]Lucas' POVI could not let Jackie die. I would rather die than let the woman who has suffered enough go through death. I just couldn't watch her take that bullet. So, when I saw Maddy pull out her gun, I knew things would not end well. I had thought she would not pull the trigger but I was wrong when I saw her finger push the trigger. She was so cruel. The worst feeling I felt was helplessness. I couldn't do anything to stop everything as I watched them kiss. I felt like my heart was ripped out of my chest and tossed into a larva. I felt like I could not breathe. It was at that moment I knew that people could die from heartbreak. I just couldn't withstand the sight and thought of losing Lucas to her."Finally," Maddy said and I raised my head.I sniffed and glared at her when she looked at me, smiling wide with the contract pressed against her chest. She giggled and walked up to me."Won't you congratulate me?" She asked, craning her head to the side.I formed some saliva in my mouth and spat on her face. She gasped and closed her eyes at the impact. I smiled at the sight of my spit on her face then chuckled."I already got what I want

I hissed and then moaned when I felt a dull ache on my head. I tried to raise my head but it was difficult, almost as if my neck was stiff with pain. I shut my eyes against another wave of a dull headache then opened them when I heard heavy footsteps."You're finally awake," a gruff masculine voice reached my ears and I groaned out in pain when my hair was yanked back. The pain in my neck and head doubled and I felt dizzy from the movement. I took deep breaths and looked to my side, I saw the same man who had been following me in the supermarket. My eyes widened as fear came over me then I became aware of my surroundings. I was facing a church altar and on my side were rows of wooden benches. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked back at the altar in confusion. I could tell from the stained glass window behind the cross that
