Chapter 2 The President's Daughter

When I noticed this, I became slightly anxious. Nonetheless, I attempted to prove my innocence as I shouted, "I don't know them all that well! They're simply spreading rumors and spewing nonsense!"

Alas, Vivian refused to listen to reason as she spat, "No woman will acknowledge herself as a mistress."

It seemed that Vivian genuinely thought she was judging me from a moral high ground as she regarded me with a triumphant look in her eyes.

"Girls, do you hear that? Everyone despises a homewrecker. Now, do your thing and teach her a lesson!"

As soon as these words escaped Vivian's lips, a delinquent girl behind her took the lead, walked up to me, and slapped me in the face.

I instinctively tried to block the slap, but Vivian punched me in the stomach.

The pain made me bend over and see stars.

"How dare you dodge! Why didn't you learn to keep your paws to yourself when you're out whoring yourself, then?"

I clutched my stomach and propped myself up with the support of my knees. "There must be some misunderstanding. I came to Sullivan Group today because—"

Before I could finish explaining, Vivian grabbed my hair and slapped me in the face again. Only this time, it was my right cheek.

"Great! Now, both your cheeks are equally red and swollen!"

She grabbed my hair hard and forced me to look up at her. "You showed up here today because you knew Marcus is now the director of Sullivan Group, right?"

Then, she fixed her angry gaze on the necklace around my neck.

"It looks like not only are you a hussy, but you are also a vain gold digger."

As she spoke, she ripped off the sapphire necklace from my neck. "My husband has never bought me such an expensive gift, but he actually bought it for you!"

When Marcus heard Vivian's remark, he awkwardly looked away. Yet, he never explained anything.

There was a trace of blood oozing from the corner of my mouth, and I could tell that my outfit was completely disheveled. I was undoubtedly in a state of utter disarray.

"This is a birthday gift from my mom."

"Your Mom is just some cleaner. How could she afford to give you such an expensive gift?" Vivian scoffed.

Meanwhile, I felt my strength leaving me after sustaining multiple injuries on my body. At this point, I didn't even have the energy to argue with her.

The security guard cautiously approached Marcus, worried that something bad might happen. Then, he discreetly tugged the lower hem of Marcus' shirt, and urged, "Mr. Lane, I think you should end things. We're at the Sullivan Group premises, after all. It will be hard for you to come up with a satisfactory answer if your wife and her friends really beat the girl almost to death here."

Marcus frowned at the security guard's words. Just as he was about to say something, Vivian hugged his arm and whined coquettishly, "Honey, do not tell me you're still in love with this wench. You had promised my mom yesterday that you would only pamper and love me for the rest of your life."

When Marcus heard what Vivian said, his eyes flickered slightly. Then, he appeased her gently, saying, "Not to worry, baby. I won't forget my promise to Mrs. Sullivan. Then you must ask Mom to promote me further by two levels when the time comes."

Vivian hurriedly agreed. After she got a promise out of Marcus, she looked at me proudly.

As for Marcus, he turned to the security guard and said, "My wife is simply being righteous. If something indeed happens, others will only consider her punishing the wrongdoers for the sake of society. Besides, have you forgotten who her mom is?"

Hence, the security guard had no choice but to keep his objections to himself after seeing Marcus' stance on the matter.

Vivian approached me with a twisted smirk on her lips. "Now, no one can save you."

Suddenly, she focused on my bag, which slung across my body. "I wasn't framing you when I said that you were vain. Ha! I can't believe you would carry a fake bag."

"It's the real deal," I instinctively retorted.

When Vivian heard my words, she looked up and cackled. Then, she turned to the delinquent girl behind her and ridiculed me nonstop, "Girls, did I hear it right? Did she just say this is a real bag? How can the daughter of a street cleaner have the money to buy a real bag?"

Her face took on a somber expression as she speculated maliciously. "Even if it's real, you must have become another man's mistress and have him buy it for you."

As she spoke, she reached out and wanted to snatch my bag. "Today, I will carry out God's will and help those innocent women reclaim their husbands' property."

Since my identification card and the gifts for my parents were still in my bag, I tried my best to protect the bag.

Vivian promptly lost her temper when she saw that she had failed to snatch it away from me after. "Girls, hold her down! Look at how she treasures this bag so much. I can bet my boots that this must be her only branded bag. Let's ruin her bag and her. We shall see how she's going to seduce men in the future."

A sinister glint appeared in her eyes, and she suddenly went hysterical, behaving like a hungry wolf seeing its prey.

Given my limited strength, it was already hard for me to fight Vivian and the delinquent girl alone, let alone a dozen of them. Two to three delinquent girls jumped on me and grabbed my hand. As a result, I couldn't move and could only helplessly watch my bag being snatched away.

At this point, I didn't care about embarrassing my dad and shouted, "I am the president's daughter!"
