Thorn's pov.I was guarding the ruins along with two other guards, we were assigned to different sides, each person minding his work. I wasn't being watched by anyone and that meant that I had a lot of time to look for the tunnel.I left my duty post to sniff around for a bit, trying to find any kind of clue that would lead me to the right tunnel. I only have till the end of the month to find this tunnel or my sister would be killed.The thought of losing my only sister made me shudder. I will never be able to forgive myself if anything happened to her because it would be all my fault. I had a lot of time to carry out this task but I wasted it all, messing around with Genevieve.Speaking of Genevieve, I wonder how she must be coping. I know how terrible it is to be rejected by your mate, and it hurts me more than I thought it would. CHAPTER 71Thorn's pov.“How are you, Thorn?” Her soft voice echoed, the sound of the flowing river. I stood there, my eyes refusing to leave her form.“You don't want to talk to me? CHAPTER 72Thorn's pov.After leaving Genevieve alone, I went back to the temple ruins, but not before I informed her guards to go back and stay with her. By the time I had gotten back to the ruins, more guards showed up, stating that the alpha told them to come by and inspect how things were going. I could no longer go to the tunnel that I had found earlier because I would definitely be caught.The security remained tight until it was time for me to get back to the palace. CHAPTER 73Genevieve's pov.I was filled with rage when I got out of the river and Thorn wasn't there anymore.
