Ares’ P.O.V.

I hated leaving El behind all alone. I kept the future open, but with her it’s always hard to see. There are times where she’s faded out, or her future is so blurry it gives me a headache. I am not sure if it is because she is a prophecy child or if perhaps it is her power itself that keeps it hidden. Either way, I hate not being able to see clearly into her future. Thankfully, I saw that she would do well here. I was allowed to see that much.

“She’ll be okay, right?” Andy asked me as she squeezed my hands with nerves. She hated leaving El as much as I did. I was grateful that my mate was willing to raise her with me, but I loved that Andy loves her just as much as me.

“Yes,” I answered, even if I didn’t feel like she would be.
