Jelena
Traeger and I were so close to making love. Now I’m worried about what might be happening at the Institute. He tried to reassure me, but I know that something big must be going down. His men wouldn’t have been so nervous otherwise. I get the feeling that they're not easily shaken. Especially considering their training. Rubbing my temple, I head to the house. There’s no point in thinking about this too much.
Once I get to the house, I see that everyone is preparing to go camping. My dad is the first one to notice my presence. “Hey, pumpkin, I’m glad you’re back from your walk. Your mom was ready to go and find you.” Just then, my mom comes out looking upset. “Where have you been, young lady? I told you not to be out too long, and it’s been two hours since you left.” I shake my head in exasperating at her exaggerated tone and stride to the SUV’s passenger door. “Geez, mom, I just got distracte
TraegerAfter I leave Jelena, I meet up with Arsenal and Grey. They are both standing nearby, waiting for me. “What happened?” I ask in my most authoritative alpha voice. Arsenal gives me an awed smile. Grey must have told him about Jelena and me. “Sorry to interrupt you, Alpha, but something is about to go down at the Institute, and I wanted to warn you before you came back. For some strange reason, the doctors take pack members in for questioning, and they won’t say why. However, I caught up to Blade after they questioned him and gleaned some information from him before they took him to his room. He said they were asking a lot of questions about you. Some questions having to do with you and your behavior lately. They are also planning on ordering a search of the facilities. Who knows what they’re looking for? Unfortunately, we don’t know because we haven’t been able to talk to anyone else. They put the whole pack in is
JelenaThe shower’s cabin is surprisingly sturdy. It looks like a shower you’d find at a gym. It’s wooden on the outside, but inside there are dark tiles and a wall with three large showerheads. To my right, there is an area with wooden storage counters. And beneath the shower faucets, there are waist-high wooden benches attached to the wall. Resting my towel and bags on the counter, I strip off my sweaty clothes and turn on a nearby shower. To my surprise, the water is warm. Closing my eyes, I lean my hands on the wall and throw my head back, letting the water run through my body. It feels so good.Suddenly, two arms wrap around my naked waist and pull me against a solid male chest. Startled, I turn my head in surprise. “Traeger, you found me.” Giving me a smoldering smile, Traeger buries his face in my neck and inhales deeply. It’s so sweet and sexy. I’ve never had a guy hold me with so much reverence. He makes me feel like t
TraegerShe was amazing tonight. I don’t know what to think. I definitely didn’t think that mating could be so profound. Thankfully, I’m able to sneak back to my room without issue. Once I’m there, I send a private message to Grey and Arsenal. “I found a way to contact the council. Jelena had a cellular phone. I was able to hack into the council system and contact someone there. They plan on calling me for a meeting. I have Jelena’s phone, but I need to find a safe place to hide it.”I wait for a moment before they both respond. “The guards already checked our rooms. The phone should be safe with you for a few days, at least.” I nod my head. “True. I will keep it in one of my books for now.”We plan for a few moments before we close communications. For the rest of the night, I lay there, recalling my passionate encounter with Jelena, and instantly fall asleep with a smil
JelenaCamping was fun. Especially my shower with Traeger. I’m glad to get back at the house, though. The fridge was empty, so everyone decided to go to the market. I bowed out because I couldn’t handle another minute with the little devils. They were driving me crazy. I thought my mom would argue, but she didn’t. I guess she understands that Jesse and Ricky can be quite the handful. Throughout the day, I keep reaching for my phone, then remember that Traeger has it. After what he told me about the Institute, I worry about what will happen to him and his pack. Ever since he told me what he is, I’ve felt like I’m in the middle of a science fiction novel. When I get to my bedroom, I lay my bag on the floor and throw myself on the bed. I’m still a little sore from the night before. Making love with Traeger was amazing. I had never felt so needy in my life. I miss him so much right now. I wish he were here. I touch the mark
TraegerMathias, Council’s head, steps out of a large black vehicle with some of his men. All of the men are tall and imposing in their black fatigues, t-shirts, and combat boots. Apparently, Mathias is an angel. I don’t know why I’m shocked, but I’ve only ever seen other Lycans. However, part of our education consisted of learning about other supernatural beings and their weaknesses. The angel is definitely imposing. We’re about the same height, but where I’m dark, he’s light. He has auburn hair and gold eyes.Standing stiffly, I observe as he strides towards me and gives me a slight bow. “Traeger, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I am Mathias…” He points towards the men who follow behind him. “This is Mikhail, Azazel, Gadriel, and Isaiah.” I nod my head in greeting. Gadriel and Isaiah are definitely angels. The other two men, however, are different. I can sense that M
JelenaIt’s dark when I awaken. My visions hazy, and I can barely see a thing. That’s the bad part of being in the middle of a forest where your nearest neighbor is seven miles away, and the only sounds here are of birds and squirrels. For some reason, my head throbs excruciatingly. Arching my neck, I blink my eyes in hopes of clearing my blurry vision. I must have fallen asleep at an odd angle last night because every muscle in my body feels stiff. Taking a deep breath, I try to relax my sore muscles and move around to alleviate the ache, but my body will not cooperate. And that’s when I come to the realization─ I’m not in my bed. Eyes wide, I look down and sob in horror when I see that I’m actually strapped to a chair.Suddenly, the memory of what happened rushes through me. I remember two men coming to my house and attacking me. Frightened, I blink my eyes, trying to adjust my vision. That’s when I see the barren white walls and t
Traeger It’s late at night. Arsenal, Grey, and I are sitting in my room discussing what the council proposed. I narrow my eyes thoughtfully while Arsenal begins to pace. “We have to get back in that room.” He mutters in a determined voice. I nod my head. “Yeah, there has to be some way to get this done.” Grey settles himself on my bed. “Maybe we can set some kind of distraction. All of the doctors went on red alert when Dorian went berserk.” I slump down in my chair, placing my thumb and index finger over my forehead. “Yeah, we need to figure something out.” Has anything happened today? They both look at each other in question. “No…I mean, the doctors have been pretty quiet today. It’s actually weird because they haven’t run any tests or anything.” I nod my head, feeling a sense of unease. My t
JelenaI open my eyes, feeling my head pounding. This time instead of the lab, I’m in a large empty room. The room is just as barren as the other one I woke up in. I stand up on shaky legs, feeling a little nauseous. Whatever the doctor gave me is still in my system. I slowly make my way around the room and almost fall when I realize that my ankle is shackled to a wall.Suddenly, the front door opens. The man from earlier walks in. “You’re awake. Good.” I back up towards the wall. He tilts his head sideways, and his eyes narrow. He gives me the once-over with a sneer on his face. It makes me feel like a bug under a microscope. “You know…Traeger saw you. We had to incapacitate him to keep him from killing anyone. Now, here’s a question for you, little girl. Why would Traeger go completely berserk over a girl he barely met?” I swallow deeply, understanding the repercussions of his question. I try to calm my heart, st
Jelena and Traeger’s First ChristmasJelena I rest my head on Traeger’s shoulder and inhale his manly scent. My body feels satisfied and replete as he caresses his fingers up and down my naked back. As I trace invisible patterns across his abs, I think about how happy I’ve been. The twinkling lights of the Christmas tree bathe us in a variety of colors, and the sweet melodic sounds of carols permeate the air. “How did you like your first Christmas?” I mutter against his velvety neck. Traeger’s chest expands beneath my ear, his breathing finally becoming steady after our heated bout of love
TraegerJelena and I have been together for over five months, and I have never been happier. That’s why I decided that tonight I’m going to invite Jelena to move in with me. To some, it might be too fast, but to me, it feels right. I mean, we’re soulmates, and I know that I will never love another the way I love her. Not only did she teach me what love is, but she taught me how to live. Because of her, my packmates and I are free.Right now, my packmates are settled in their own places. They make an effort to pay their respects to me at least twice a week.Another thing that surprised me was seeing Dorian. He came over to the house a couple of days ago. Apparently, he was also offered a position to be a professor at Cal State. He is going to teach literature. I’m no surprised that he was hired to teach literature. When we lived in the institute, the doctors would keep him calm by giving him books. Sometimes, he’d read
Over the past couple of months, I’ve been teaching Traeger about everyday things. The best part was when Mikhail invited him to his house to play Xbox. The look on his face when he asked me what an Xbox is, was priceless. Typical of the male species, he loved it. I had to roll my eyes when he bought one of his own, along with all the gadgets he could find. He and Mikhail are now on the same Call of Duty team. I have to roll my eyes at that one.Right now, we’re getting ready to meet my parents for Thanksgiving. I look at Traeger, who is gripping the steering tightly as we wind our way to my house and settle my hand on his hip. “Don’t worry, babe, my family will love you.”I know he’s been worried about meeting my family. Considering he doesn’t have a family of his own, I can see why he’s nervous. His clear eyes light up with untold emotion as he takes my hand in his and kisses it. “I guess I’m just worr
JelenaIt has been a while since I last saw Traeger. I miss him so much. After I was “rescued” from the forest. I was taken to a hospital to have myself checked over. They asked me a lot of questions. Especially how I survived. I told them that I had taken a water bottle and a few protein bars. Which was made valid when Traeger left a few empty bottles and wrappers. He also placed my swim bag in the spot to prove that I carried water and protein bars for a walk. Thankfully, the police didn’t find the bag in my house, because I had left it at the campsite by mistake. I told him about it when we were planning my “rescue.” He went back for it, ran it through some dirt and threw it near the empty bottles. My parents showed up in the hospital looking happier than I’ve ever seen them. After several happy cries and hugs, we went back to the cabin. I was not allowed out of my parent’s sight after that. We went home days l
Chapter 26: Next StepTraegerIt doesn’t take long to get to the Institute. We park a few miles down, making sure we’re not spotted. A few miles ago, we turned off all the lights in our vehicles and drove in the dark. One of the upsides of being Supernatural is that we have excellent night vision. There are still Lycans out looking for me. Unfortunately for the doctors, the Lycans are not reporting that they’ve seen us. They still assume that my men are under the control of the receptors.I send a telepathic message to the Lycans in the Institute. Letting them know that we are here. A few of them will clear the front entrance, which has been fortified since I escaped. We all break off into groups. Mathias, Mikhail, Azazel, and I lead. I send a message to Arsenal and Grey, who are supposed to be unlocking the doors. After a few moments, the doors open. Arsenal and Grey are both waiting inside with weapons in their hands.I mov
JelenaTraeger and I are both lying face to face in one of the cabin’s rooms. My leg is lying over his, and his hand is on my back. I run my hand up and down his back, thinking about what was said earlier. Mathias and the rest of the Council enforcers decided that they’d wait till deep into the night to go to the Institute. Traeger was able to contact Arsenal and Grey telepathically, giving them a heads up on the plan. According to them, the Institute is in an uproar. They sent several men to search for us.Nevaeh and Cassia turned out to be really nice. We were delighted to find out that we’d attend Cal. State together. Cassia already graduated, but she said she’d give me a tour. I learned about her and Mathias’ love. I was also shocked to find out that Mathias’ is Nevaeh’s dad. Apparently, angels and many other supernatural beings are immortal. Even though Mathias looks like he’s in his twenties, he is actually thousand
Chapter 24: I’m the AlphaTraeger’sDr. Monroe sneers at our attempts to retain control. “Very well, Traeger, if this is how it is. You leave us no choice.” He takes his cell phone out and presses a few buttons. Suddenly, all of the men begin shifting angrily. Their eyes begin to glow, and their claws grow. We back away slowly as the men in my pack take several threatening steps forward. I keep Jelena behind me until something pulls her away from me. I look back, ready to kill whoever is touching her. Dorian is holding her against him, his chest heaving. They’ve enabled the receptors. Dr. Monroe and Dr. Spencer gaze into my eyes expectantly. Almost as if they're waiting for something to happen. That’s when I realize that they expect me to fall in line. They don’t know that I had the receptors removed. I look towards my pack members.“STAND DOWN!” I shout angrily. The doctors’ speculation turns to
