The next day, Sophia had not woken up from what ensued the previous day. She lay back on the bed that her body was already used to lying on. Her face registered peace and tiredness at the same time. The healer was using certain acupuncture needles on certain parts of her body.

" Sophia. " She said. " If you can hear me, I need you to wake up. We do have a whole lot to talk about. Do you hear me?"

No response came. The young lady was cruising in her sleep.

" I will just wait till you are up. "

A knock came on the door. The healer turned in that direction. It had to be the alpha king. She nearly let out a sigh but held herself. Why was he always knocking? If he made his way through her house to this particular room, what then was the need of knocking if he had not knocked earlier on?

" You may come in. " She said.

The door opened and Derek walked in. This time, he was alone. Vieira was not within sight.

" Your majesty. " She said, rising to her feet. " Good day. " She tilted her he

A couple of moments later, the healer was alone in the room with Sophia. The young lady was still lying down on the bed with no signs of getting up. The healer sat beside her on the bed doing nothing. She thought of the way the alpha king had questioned her for asking the question that she asked. If not that she was already an elderly person in the line of werewolves, she probably would have stuttered and given herself away so easily. Derek was no ordinary person. Had it been that it were not her kind of person, the man would have definitely had his way without any stress. Keeping the rhythm of her heartbeat was a trick she learnt very long ago, when she was still young. Now, she was of age. Certain things were not difficult to do now. Derek had tried his best to get the slightest hint of aloe in the words that she had said not long ago. But he failed. He was not able to find any damn thing about her. " Sophia. " She muttered to herself. " You need to wake up soon. We have things tha

Derek and Vieira had arrived at the court. However, they were yet to enter. Derek knew that the council would want to bring up a whole lot of issues all in the name of showing care to him. But in the real sense of it, he knew they were trying to find the easy way to get him out of the throne. Maybe he would just give them what they were yearning so desperately for. He had fixed the decision as to what was going to become the fate of the young lady who had ended up somehow in their pack. " Vieira." He called. " Yes, your majesty. " Vieira said, bracing his shoulders. " Do you remember what I told you earlier on? " " What exactly are you referring to? You said a lot of things. " " About the throne. I remember I said something before I got to the chamber of the former alpha king. "" I don't think I remember." Vieira replied , feigning ignorance. He knew what Derek was saying exactly. Derek smiled. " You think you don't remember which means you actually do remember. Tell me, is tha

The casting of ballots was a system of voting that was only used once through the reign of an alpha king. This was an exclusive right the members of the council could exercise at any point in time. However, they had that right to be used just once. No one could say how or when the rule came into place but it was a common thing to note that the system had been used for years of the existence of the pack. It was a way of bringing down the alpha that was in power. In a situation where the members of the council seem to feel too displeased with the reigning alpha and we're unable to bring him to their feet, the strategy was always employed. In fact, it had been used to tear down the reign of a good number of alpha kings as can be accounted for by the records . Every powerful alpha that rose to the throne always did all they could to bring down the system. But it was always brought to nothing. Derek never imagined something like this would even come up. Besides, he felt that he was already

Ruckus paced to and fro in his room with so many thoughts running straight through his head. In fact, if he were to be asked, he would say he could feel the entire body system thinking alongside his head. His head was purely on fire. The thought of whether the plan would go as he had planned was troubling him. That was the idea of Badmus. Badmus had told him back then when he had just finished having a brief talk with Jael that he had a perfect plan. A plan that was going to help them hit the goal that he has had in mind for a good while now. Badmus brought the idea to really kill the reigning alpha king on the full moon which was meant to be his father's birthday celebration. The idea was to first give him a hint of what was going to happen. Since he tried to keep a secret within the circle of the council members and it never worked out perfectly as he had thought of it, then he would use the same means to set a trap for his father. A death trap. According to the plan, he would give

When Ruckus arrived at the chamber of his father, the alpha king, what his eyes saw had to be the opposite of what was at his own chamber. There were more guards loitering around the whole place. For a moment, he stopped, gazing at what was before him. What did the alpha king have in mind? At least, for someone like him, the alpha king needed that number of people to be able to pull him down. There was no doubt that Ruckus was one of the strongest werewolves to grace the pack. Maybe his father was impatient enough and was now willing to drag him into the ditch. " Badmus. " " Yes, lord Ruckus. " " What do you think this could mean?" " I have no idea. I was going to ask you the same question. " Ruckus eyed him. " What do you mean by that? You were going to ask me the same question? You have been moving around. You should know better than I what this number of people are doing here. " " Lord Ruckus, " Badmus moved his mouth closer to his ear and said in a whisper," I think your fa

Hours had passed already. And it was already night. But Sophia was yet to open her eyes. The healer was just there. Since the earlier hours of the day when Sophia muttered her name, she had not left the room except the moment she cleaned her body for the second time. Except that one moment, there was never another time that she left the room. All her attention was on Sophia. Her eyes were fixed on her mouth, waiting for the young lady to say another word. Though Sophia had muttered that word and it was not clear enough, the healer could beat her chest and swear on everything she held true that the girl had mentioned the name Katrina. This got her more confused and surprised at the same time. How could she have known about the name? Or was there someone she knew with that name? The healer as she knew to herself, her daughter who she had parted ways with many years ago due to circumstances never got to know her name. The girl was just tender and knew nothing about the names that her par

For a good while, Sophia did not say anything. She was rather confused as to what was going on. The way Vieira had left seemed very strange like he was up to something. " Why are you surprised?" Derek asked her. Sophia turned to him . " Why should I not be? Did you let both of them go? If I may ask, what is the reason for that?"Derek giggled faintly. " What are you thinking right now? That I asked them to leave for a special reason. Is that it? " " The air around here is quite different. It is obvious that there is something off. " " Tell me, Sophia." Derek said , taking quick strides to the bed. " Tell you what?" Sophia asked him as he took his way on the bed , coming face to face with her. " Do you happen to know any stuff about the healer?" "I don't really think I understand what you have just said now. What is with the question that you just asked me?" " There is nothing harmful about the question that I have asked. But at the same time, I need to know. So, tell me."" Ar

For the past couple of minutes, Vieira had been trailing the healer to know where exactly she was headed. It had been a terrible walk already. Though cars and other vehicles were rampant, their kind would want to exercise the energy that coursed through them. Having to live in a secluded community far away from human imagination, the werewolves too have learnt to live without relying on any aud that was invented by mankind to use normal humans 2jo in the sight of the stronger werewolves were mere weak people always looking for an excuse to cover their shame. But for them, it was normal to do certain things. In fact, in one of the trainings that a certain division of guards among them go through, they are made to race against a vehicle. They all grew up with a mentality that they were always going to beat down humanity in every respect. Why? Because the weak nature of humans always made them vile and discriminative. Days had turned to months. Time flied past like the breath Sophia released from her body. She had accomplished exactly what she promised her parents. Uproot the weed. She did it. It was the monthly remembrance of her mother's death . Clutching a flower in her hands , she walked gently with Derek towards the tomb in red moon pack. The spot where her father would have been laid to rest was now occupied by her mother's remains. They strode into the old structure and dropped the flower. " I am here again." Sge smiled. " We are here. " Derek held her hand tightly. " We will make her no weeds arise again. " When they left the tomb , they headed straight to the sea valley pack. Both packs were now ruled by Derek and Sophia. They got to the former chamber of the alpha king. For a good while, Derek had been practicing to control his shift. He always failed but was willing to try again. " Are you sure you want to try again?" Sophia asked. Derek nodded. They strode to the chamber. Derek

The event to celebrate the crowning of a new alpha in the red moon pack was specially organized and hosted by Ruckus in the grandest hall that there was in the pack. The hall was specially built and constructed to suit the high taste of whatever was to be held in it. No ordinary events are held there. In fact, even the birthday of an alpha was not worth being celebrated in such an ecstatic place. It was majorly reserved for any sort of meeting that would involve the rest of the packs. The hall was actually constructed for this reason. A couple of yeare back, one of the most decisive conclaves was fixed in the red moon pack. By virtue of that, the alpha in charge had begun the construction of the beautiful work of art. That alpha had to be no.other person than the uncle of Ruckus who happened to be the father of Sophia. Ruckus had purposely selected the hall for this event so tht he would be able to arouse sleeping memories in the lives of both alpha king Derek and his supposed Luna, S

Whether it was going to end the way he had the way he had thought it or against him, there was no way of knowing. Badmus had given him the idea of what to do. That was all he needed. No matter how much he now hated Badmus, he still knew what relevance the presence of Badmus meant by his side. The man was always the bug game planner behind him. After using the art of killing the little children which he knew that Badmus was not going to turn a blind eye on, Badmus had given him the perfect idea on what he needed to get down the supposed all powerful and vicious alpha king f the dead valley pack who happened

The weather was cold , very cold . Yet there was no dirt of provision for him to rest his head. For the past many days , he had been going through one torture to the other. But he had refused to yield . There was no way he was going to yield. The only worry he had in his mind was the arrival of Tamina. How was Ruckus able to find her ? Not just find her , he equally brought her. Perhaps, a kidnap scenario. But that was a call for war . Going I to another pack to get someone out without any proper methods if approach was a great call and an alarm that could result in pack wars. Something of that nature had happened before .
