DYLAN
"WHAT IS THIS CAGE?!" her voice was frenzied, and she's visibly having a moment. She's thrashing in her seat. Her gaze looked around the place like, just by doing so, she could actually flee.
"What cage?" Zack asked and stopped her from leaving the bed.
"Let go of me!" she screamed. Dylan cursed when he started hearing the nurses' anxious footsteps.
"Hey, calm down," Dylan said and pushed her back on the bed. "We're here to help you!"
She continued muttering, eyes wide with panic. "This cage… This cage…"
Her rage was really disturbing. And what cage? <
Hi! This is my first author's note. I don't know what to say.
ZACHZach had made a few visits to Selena's house ever since that Saturday night when the two girls fell out. He searched for her at school first thing that Monday. They basically share the same classes, but Selena was nowhere. Tuesday came, and again his search was for naught. When he asked her mother if she went to school that day, she said that she did. He's not much when it comes to patience, so he knew he was running out of it.He had been finding it hard to sleep ever since he left Zach and Cynthia at the hospital. He hadn't even seen Selena since then either. He's been feeling extraordinarily wobbly and irritated. His thought went to his classmate, who had the weird power to conjure some force field. She doesn't even have a face.&
ZACH The next day, Wednesday, he woke up late. He got to school feeling morose. He parked on the basketball court and scoffed at the sound of women swooning at him. He basked in their unwavering affection and scanned the crowd for the familiar-looking hairstyle, and still, he found nothing like it. Where the fuck are you? The school isn't that big either. Why was he finding it hard to find Selena? He checked with the teachers and learned that she'd taken the quizzes like a typical in attendance student does. He went to the library dozens of times, and there was still no sign of her. He decided that today, he was going to mingle with the other students for a change. He walked to the building only to be thwarted by a puny girl w
CYNTHIA There was an event coming up at school. Cynthia was chosen to play the part of the evil witch of an enchanted themed play that Dylan was forced to write. Since he failed to bring Cynthia to Jon's party, Jon practically punished him by announcing to the whole campus his nerdy nature. Jon informed the Theatre club of his personal endeavors as an aspiring writer. As soon as Monday came, he was scouted by the President of the Theatre club to co-write the play. Cynthia had formerly declined to join the theatre club, but after hearing of him writing the play, she was ecstatic to play even the role of a tree. Opal, who had reconciled with Cynthia, having noticed the absence of her Radiance, was busy helping him assemble the trees as the stage's backdrop.
ZACH Zach was feeling excited. They're going to watch Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone at Selena's house. Selena told him that she had mentioned his visit later that morning to her grandmother and mother. Her gran, after a bit of persuasion, approved. But as soon as she got home, Selena's sister welcomed them with a panic-stricken face. She threw her backpack on the sofa and steadied her. Zach entered the house without being invited. Lyka held unto her as the world depends on it. "It's Ruben! He… He got into a fight, and Gran and Mom…" she burst into tears. "Mom tried to be a mediator, and she was hit by a bat on the head... She passed out. Gran brought her to the hospital. R
DYLANDylan looked down at the Trevian Prince, who was having a face-off with a woman Earthling. She's particularly eye-catching for an Earthling, if Periuz shall admit. And the Radiant Earthling they came there for was now sprawled on the loamy soil. Looking as every bit a Welkin as an Earthling can. "What is the Prince doing?" Prowlaz asked, annoyed. "What's with the delay?" "I'd dare say he's in love," Morton said, chuckling. "Look at him. He's smitten." "Well, I don't think he's fallen, love. I think he's merely surprised," Perez said. &nb
KING ODENCLIFFE He looked at himself in the mirror with satisfaction. His white complexion rendered him the most attractive King in the history of Welkin. His brothers envied this part of him so much that they used to bully him all the time when they were younger. One of his concubines, whose name he had long forgotten, handed him his most favored weapon, the rapier. She murmured a couple of praises that he subtly ignored. Odincliffe is the King known for his fondness for beauty. He likes collecting things that are appealing to his eyes. Unlike his brother Trevino, who's a collector of everything unique, or his brother Altaire, a fanatic of destruction,
Trevino called fort for the Eye, Resmeia, as soon as he arrived back at his Fiefdom. He waited patiently for her in his throne room, answering his consort's inquiries about the summit in a passive tone. Resmeia strode inside the throne room, but he sent her flying across the place as soon as she had gone near enough. She landed in a dull thud on the marbled floor. "How dare you let yourself get spied on?!" his wrath sent a ripple of raw power throughout the room. "You careless fool!" She rose from the floor, clutching her throbbing chest. She heard a husky chuckle, and she didn't have to look that it came from the King's consort. What valid reason can she offer? She thought of none and settled on silence. &nbs
Selena and Zach arrived at the docks and quickly noticed the crowd milling around the place. Instead of kids the same age as her brother, they found grownup men holding makeshift weapons from bats to pipes. The abandoned storehouse near it is obviously where her brother's being kept. Their bloodshot eyes spelled substance abuse, and they didn't have to guess what substances they favored. Selena realized that Titan was obviously not the leader. She started making a mental map of their daring infiltration using her not yet perfected invisibility. Still, when she had finally come up with a safe route, Zach was gone. "Zach?" she looked around, but he was nowhere. She looked at the
Queen Hayley was riding a unicorn, and so did her daughter Princess Aldea. The latter hasn't stopped crying ever since Carmichael chose the human Julia as hisFirstMate. He dared insult the entire Fae Faction, and he's going to get what he deserves tonight. There was something wrong with the whole forest, for the portal they managed to construct sent them pretty far from where they intended to go. As steadily and as calmly as they could, they started the procession. They were halfway to the Garrison when she detected three faint presences hovering above them. She found two boys and a girl perched up the trees when she looked up.
The Fae will soon be arriving from the East, and the Darken will be taking what they came for.The Dimensians and the Association want the Talisman and complete control of the Lower Realm. Dylan has this nagging feeling that the Welkins are scheming, and they are out there waiting. This is going to be a long night, he thought. Dylan rounded up every one of his friends so they could start brainstorming about what to do with their current predicament. He didn't know that everything would escalate this quickly. "I'm starving," said Titan, and the sound of his rumbling stomach reverberated inside the conference hall. He received a couple of glares from the people around him. "What?! I bet all of you are hungry too!" "How
Wisteria was pacing inside her room, thinking of what she saw inside Osprey's head. She was about to devour every single memory he had when suddenly, something woke the boy up from his sleep. How fortunate he was to be spared from her power. Still, it doesn't change the fact that she saw the image of the talisman in his head. Selena Comia, the Blitzkrieg blessed human, finished making it, yet she dutifully gave it to someone else. The reason why was the abrupt return of his beloved brother. She squirmed in exasperation. The glass windows shattered to pieces. Her husband smiled at her outburst. No matter what she does, he'd still find her amusing. Bryna stormed inside the room, face
Gustavan opened his eyes and found himself chained on his bed. He tugged at it forcefully and winced in pain. The pain meant he's not dreaming, so this isn't the work of the well-regarded Queen of Dreams, Ruler of Dimensia, Queen Wisteria. He looked around and knew well that this wasn't the work of the Darken Great Leader Carmichael, who is also known as the King of all Beasts and Monsters. Nor is it the scheming of the virtuous Clans of the Association of Faith Healers and Witches. The only creatures capable of catching him so quickly are those who can travel through space, the Fae. They regard themselves as magical Porters and Gatekeepers. Now, why they would do this, Gustavan wondered. The first reason would be as a hostage against the human race. Among all the faction
"I sent the winged-beasts to Laguna and the Welkins to Cavite," said Azalea. "If you're planning something, you may as well do it now. I witnessed those Welkins teleport from the Welkin Kingdom to Earth using a portal they erected. They could be back any minute now." "You were brought to the Welkin Kingdom?!" Julia asked, awed. "How was it? Is it nice there?!" Azalea took a step back away from her. It didn't escape their notice that she seems to be avoiding Julia and the fact that those Welkins practically returned her? A lot has happened to Azalea in the few weeks of her disappearance, and everyone is dying to know what those are. "Selena---"Dylan started only to be cut off.
Selena stood in the middle of a vast field with Julia, Zach, and Titan. The breeze may be relaxing, but the sun was scorching hot. She can see the humidity of the weather by merely looking at her company's faces. Unlike them, she' doesn't feel the heat. They'll need the heat to strengthen their concentration. "Gloom is controlled anger," said Selena. The three of them waited for further explanation, but a whole fat minute passed by, and she spoke no more. That was it. When the realization hit them, they exhibited different reactions. Julia suddenly whined and thrashed in disbelief. Titan's jaw dropped in disappointment. &n
"Does this have something to do with the dark circles under your eyes?" Selena asked, eyeing his face. Dylan can see that she's worried. He sighed, shook his head, and grinned. "Nothing escapes your notice." Their attention was picked by Zach's immediate rehabilitation. Zach opened his eyes and saw three people huddling close to him. His gaze landed on Cynthia, and he brusquely pushed her away. Cynthia slumped on the floor as Zach rose, followed by Titan as Julia tended Cynthia's bruised neck. Selena walked towards Zach, and Zach looked at her visibly, wanting forgiveness. Dylan knew what was coming.
"I have found my mate." The whole Batangas Coliseum was then flooded by a booming cheer. He summoned every Darken creature in the Philippines. It has always been a cause for a huge celebration every time a leader declares like this. Producing powerful offspring is Darken's number one priority. There's no bigger honor than being a parent to a future leader, even if it meant that you have to die first to ensure their leadership someday. Karmic killed his father and mother so he could assume his reign. Before they died, his father beamed at him with a smile so proud the jury was in tears. A bit twisted, but it is Darken Law. Law is the law. &nbs
The General brought him inside the Headquarters. He followed him straight to a vast room that houses tons of books stacked up in shelves ranging from floor to ceiling. The older man with radiance welcomed them as they entered. Dylan smiled stiffly. "How may I be of assistance, Sir?" he asked. "Jerell. meet Dylan. Dylan, here's Jerell," Dylan's said. "Teach my grandson about the history of all those factions under the rule of the IRB," he answered. "He will be taking the Exam three days from now. I want him fully informed." "Three days will not cover up everything, Sir." "Just keep on teaching him whatever you can cover until then," he said. "I'll be going now." Jerell bowed his head as Dylan's grandfather left the room.
