The first ingredient: Waters from the evergreen river.
They also call it the river of truth, place your hand into it, let her waters show you the hidden memories you thought had been lost forever
Open your heart, let the river choose. To the wicked of heart, stay far away from it, and do not come to this river thinking to use it for evil deeds, as not only will you not be able to see it, but as light as the river may be, it will not hesitate to drown you the oppressor, this river will consume you, the way it has consumed others before, like a cheetah goes after its prey, it comes after you with an angry wave, and once you prove that you’re a snake she’ll drown you in her mighty lake.To the good of heart, come closer, her waters welcome you with open arms, receive healing, receive strength, receive the power to continue in your good ways, this river blesses you, the way it has blessed others before. In her waters deep and true, lies the answers you seek, let her watKnock-knock-knock “Come in,” Dana said in response to the knock she heard on her room door. She saw Joana walk through the door and welcomed her in.“Oh, hey Joana, how are you today?”“I’m good,” Joana said. “What’s up? I haven’t been seeing so much of you lately.”“Oh well yes, I’ve just been in my room, nothing much. Is there something you want to talk to me about?”“Yes, I had an argument with Derick,” Joana said immediately.“About what?” Dana asked her surprisingly.“I’m a bit nervous to talk about what happened, we had a fight over something and I told him that we shouldn’t be around each other anymore. I feel bad for the things I said to him, and I feel weird going to meet him alone, but I came to you to see if you could maybe talk to him for me.”“I don’t know,” Dana said. “Derick isn’t the type to get angry over things easily, I need to know what really happened so I can know how to approach this better.”“I don’t kno
“I’m sorry,” Joana said. “I just didn’t want to put you in an uncomfortable position, that was why I thought bringing Dana here would make things a bit better.”“So, you’re indirectly saying you’re scared I won’t be able to control the feelings I have for you?”“No Derick, you know it isn’t like that.”“Then tell me what it is, are you afraid of being alone with me now? Are you scared something will happen?”“That’s enough Derick,” Dana interrupted much to Joana’s relief. “I didn’t call you here so that both of you would start another argument, I want us to live in peace, you know that Joana won’t be with us for very long and instead of spending the time she has here fighting, you both should be trying to make memories.”Joana might have been happy that Dana stopped Derick from trolling over her, but now that Dana was saying these things, she was beginning to get uncomfortable again. What kind of memories? What did she mean by what she just said?
Joana continued the rest of her training with Dana and Edmund, while she continued studying during the day. For the past weeks, she had to get used to life in the castle without Derick, the one that had showed her the way to this new life of hers. At first, she found it hard, but in the later days, she found she was able to cope.Derick, much to her surprise had asked Edmund to help her with the rest of her training. So, most of her time in the castle was now spent with Edmund and Hillary, as they would go hunting together in the evening, and then begin training into the night. As for Derick, she wasn’t seeing much of him anymore, she didn’t like the fact that they couldn’t even greet each other when they saw, but it was what he asked for and she had to respect that.On the day she completed her final round of training, Edmund declared her a powerful vampire after she fought down a pack of wolves they practiced with in a forest nearby. She was now able to
“I don’t know, but we have to accept that they won’t go away if they didn’t die after so long. If it eventually happens, I think we should just go with it and accept it the way it is or pretend like it never happened, but I don’t want that to ruin such a great friendship.”Derick thought about what she said. She was right, he had missed her as much as she had missed him, and the past few weeks had been hell without her.“Ok, then I guess it’s settled then,” he said.Joana gave a sigh of relief after Derick’s response. She couldn’t believe that she was actually scared that he wouldn’t accept her suggestion, but since he did, she was glad that they were finally settled and that things were ok between them now.“Let’s head back to the castle,” he told her. “The others would have been back.”“Ok,” she said.He held her hand, the move sent a small chill down her spine and they walked through the woods to find an open space where they could bo
He held out his arms to her while he was still seated on the bed. She got close enough and wrapped her arms around his neck as she smashed her lips to his, she kissed him with such passion, as if assuring him that she was only his. Her arms explored his back while he held her waist, slowly sliding his arms down her buttocks and gripping them with his hands. She slipped her tongue into his mouth and circled it around with his, their tongues danced with each other vigorously. Being with him in her dreams felt so good but it even felt better in real life. They kept on kissing, none of them wanting to stop as she was now fully seated on his laps, with her two legs on either side of his body.He grabbed her by her laps and dragged her closer so her breasts were rubbing his chest and so that she felt his length already hard and obvious through his pants. She could feel what she had done to him, she loved the feeling that she got knowing that she was the one who did this to him
After they had rested for a while, Joana got off the bed and began to put on her clothes.“Where are you going?” He asked her.“Back to my room.”“So soon? Don’t you want to stay here for a while?”“No, I can’t, I don’t want the others to catch us here.”They’re not going to do anything if you tell them, you know.“I know,” Joana said. “But I’d rather they didn’t know about it, especially Dana, promise me you won’t tell them about this.”“Ok, suit yourself.”“Thank you,” she said. As soon as she finished putting her clothes on, she gave him a goodbye kiss before going back to her room. She entered and threw herself on the bed, smiling to herself as she recalled everything that happened with Derick a while ago. Her thoughts then drifted back to Andrew, she hadn’t seen him in almost a year and now she wondered how he would be doing. There were times in the castle where she would wish to go home, even if it were just to visit grandma Jen and
“Praying to it?” Joana asked.“Yes, that’s what the soothsayer told us.” Edmund said. “You pray unto the spirit and hope she hears you, if she does, she calls you into her presence and searches your heart, if it is for good, then she grants your hearts desires, if you have bad intentions then she drowns you.”“Ok, let’s just hope that doesn’t happen,” Joana said. The four of them continued talking about the river for some time before Derick entered the room and went to join them to sit down.“Hey Derick,” Dana said to him with a smile. “Did you take care of Joana while we were gone?”Derick didn’t answer at first, and Joana began to wonder if Dana knew by any chance what had happened between them. It then occurred to her what was really going on; they had left her alone in the castle with Derick on purpose!“Joana is fine, she’s a strong vampire now, she can take care of herself,” Derick finally said.Wow, Joana said in her mind, exactly what h
Joana didn’t know if she had done it right, it had been a week since she had prayed unto the river spirit but yet she still hadn’t been called. She wondered if there was something wrong.“I don’t know,” she complained to Dana in her room that day. “I did everything the way you told me but still I haven’t heard anything from her yet.”“You’ve done your best, maybe you should wait for a while and be patient. In the meantime, you can start your search for the next ingredient.”“Yes, I’ve already gotten started on that, the tears of the black dragon. I’m thinking maybe I’ll have more luck with that. In the books I’ve read they all seem to be pointing to a specific location.”“And where is that?”“The watery cave of the Heilongdawang Temple, I found out that it’s in China.”Upon hearing what she had found, Dana began to smile. Joana wondered what she said that was so funny. She tried to read her mind to see the plan that she was hatching, but Dana
