The next morning, Rudra woke up and saw her decorating the temple and arranging the materials for prayer. His heart was pounding frantically because this was the first time he was experiencing something like this.

The whole house was filled with soothing smells. She was fasting for him. She would not eat or drink, and it was all for him.

Rudra was gazing at her, who looked very beautiful in a blue saree.

Her glowing face was drawing him closer, and then he remembered she was fasting completely—no food, no water for the entire day and night.

Shakti looked at him and said, "I cooked breakfast for you."

Rudra shook his head and replied, "I'm fasting with you."

She arched her brows at him.

"Are you sure?" she asked, and he nodded.

"I can manage myself. I'm more worried about you and your health," Rudra replied, and her heart skipped a beat.

"Don't worry. I'll be fine," Shakti said as she arranged the temple properly for the Teej festival.
