After the search and rescue team left, Eugene got other people to come over to have a look around the area once more due to Sharon’s insistence.

He did not have the heart to watch her cry so sorrowfully. What was the need to be so upset over such a man?

Even if the explosion had truly killed Simon, it was because of a dispute that occurred among the Zacharies anyway. She was merely their victim.

“We’ve searched everywhere, President Eugene. But we couldn’t find anyone…” Wyatt reported.

Eugene looked at Sharon and shrugged helplessly. “Did you hear that?”

“No one? But what about Simon? Where did he go?” She simply could not believe that he would die just like that.

“I don’t know what else to tell you.” He was about to say that Simon had probably disintegrated into ashes, but he had to change his words for fear of stimulating her further.

Sharon was still holding onto that wedding ring in her hand. She felt somewhat lightheaded now and was almost unable to stand on her feet.
