“Then… What about Sydney?” Fern asked immediately.

There was an unpleasant expression on Wyatt’s face. He said, “I don’t know. She was rescued from the mountain slope as well. She’s being treated by some doctors.” It seemed he wished that Sydney would just die.

Fern recalled how Sydney had poisoned her back then. This time, she tried to bomb Eugene and herself. It seemed that she no longer wanted to live anymore.

Just then, the light of the emergency room finally turned off. Soon enough, Eugene was pushed out of the room.

Fern and Wyatt walked over.

“Doctor, how is he?” Fern asked.

“He has injuries all over, and his brain took the brunt of it. Although we’ve performed an emergency rescue on him, we’re afraid that there might be aftereffects. He’s suffering from a severe concussion,” the doctor said.

Severe concussion?

The doctor’s words shocked Fern. Her heart lurched as she asked in a shaky voice, “Then… what aftereffects will he suffer from?”
