Sharon had just entered the room when someone knocked on the door. “Mrs. Zachary, it’s Xavier Fuller. President Zachary called me over.”

Sharon knew Xavier was the Zachary family’s doctor. Why had Simon called him?

She opened the door. “Dr. Fuller?”

Xavier smiled pleasantly as he said politely, “President Zachary said you’ve hurt your hand. He asked me to come over and treat it.”

“I’ll have to trouble you, then,” she said as she opened the door and let the doctor in.
