Amelia's Point of View:

"Dad, please, please just let me stay," I begged my father for the 11th time.

Ace let out a chuckle before shaking his head.

"Are you that naive?" Ace asked with a raised eyebrow.

I quickly looked away, not wanting them to see me sad.

"I just want to say goodbye to my friends; I'll leave for real," I mumbled softly.

"Fine, you have just an hour. Your uncle will be here soon," Dad said with a sigh.

I smiled at him before wrapping my arms around him and whispered a soft "Thank you."

"But your brother will follow you and bring you back here," he ordered.

Nodding my head, I rushed towards my room to grab my phone; all my things were packed up.

Dad wasn't joking; the moment he saw the video, he called my uncle.

He is rich and rude if I must say. All my Dad's brothers are rude, even my brother, but not to me.

He told my uncle to keep an eye on me and train me to be strong and not weak, which he accepted immediately

Now he was on his way here, and he told me to get ready because he didn't like to be kept.

Walking downstairs, I heard Dad saying something to Ace but stopped when he saw me.

"Good, now go, remember just an hour!" Dad said with a sigh.

Nodding my head, I grabbed Ace's hand in mine as we walked out of the house.

"Can you stay in the car so I can say goodbye?" I asked softly.

He said nothing but just nodded his head before driving off.

My brother hasn't said anything to me about my nose; he was so pissed when he walked into the house and saw me that way. Someone videoed everything that happened. And that was how Ace found out, and he sent it to Dad. They shouted at Frank for not being with me and told me not to be friends with him anymore, to which I said nothing. I was also curious why Frank was never around when I got bullied. It was like they were never there or didn't want to be around me.

"Alright, we are here," Ace mumbled while looking at the school. Everyone was outside; I guess I came early.

I bit down on my lips before walking and hopping out of the car.

I gave my brother a smile before walking towards the group.

I tried hard to ignore the whispers and how people were staring.

"What are you doing here? Ain't you supposed to be taking care of your nose?" Toney asked with a smile, making me giggle.

"Hey, guys!" I said softly with a smile.

I didn't want to tell them I was leaving; Dad and Ace told me not to. "Just say thank you and leave" were Father's words.

"Uhm, I'll be in the hospital for a while, so I came to say thank you for helping me out," I mumbled while looking at them before looking at dark grey eyes.

Lucie looked bored, his head tilted to the side, watching me.

"Uhm, thank you, Lucie, for helping me," I mumbled softly.

He let out a chuckle before shaking his head. But what he said next made me break.

"Just because I helped you yesterday doesn't mean I care or want to be friends with you, Amelia. You are still fat and ugly," Lucie Walker said loudly.

His friends frowned, and everyone in the school laughed loudly while pointing their fingers at me.

"Fat!"

"Fat, fat, fat, Amelia is so fat," they sang, making me feel small.

I shook my head, looking away from the boy I thought would be friends with me.

Lucie gave me a wicked smirk; he loved everything. He loved how I was broken in front of him.

Giving him one last look, I nodded my head slowly, before looking at the others.

But they did nothing but stare as everyone made fun of me.

Only if I listened to my brother and Toney, none of this would have happened.

Throwing one last look at Lucie, I walked away from them, ignoring their calls.

What broke me was Frank not coming to me. He didn't try to stop Lucie or the people from laughing.

Rushing towards my brother's car, I entered the car.

"Just drive, please," I whispered before letting out a sob.

His words didn't hurt, but what Frank and Toney did hurt more.

With that, we drove off.

But I promise I'll be back, and I'll have my revenge on Lucie Walker and his friends.

Feeling both hungry and still sleepy, despite the plane nap, I couldn't shake off the fatigue."Well, look who it is," someone said, causing me to snap my head up."Ace!" I asked softly, jumping around."Oh my gosh, that's so amazing!

Amelia's Point of View:The next morning, Dad and Ace woke me up, saying we had to get ready for a dinner date with Lucie's family. Was I happy? No! I hate dates, especially fancy ones."Do I have to wear a dress?" I asked my dad and my brother, who were in my room looking for a dress for me to wear, but the thing is, I had none. My uncle hates dresses or short outfits, and he didn't want his bodyguards staring at me, so I had to burn all of them. I cried that day."I thought you loved dresses, mi love. What happened to all of them?" Dad asked with a frown before walking towards my chair."Well, your brother burnt all of them. He didn't like them and said it makes you look and feel like a girly girl, so he didn't want that from me," I replied with a smile.Dad shook his head before letting out a breath. "You and your brother need to go to the mall and get a dress. This dinner is really important, Amelia," he said.A scold made its way to my lips. "It's important for you both, and no

Amelia's Point of View:Osiris Walker and Verena Walker—both their names held power. "Osiris" means "God of death," while "Verena" means "to respect." Once again, I found myself pondering how my father got me into this world, but leaving it was going to be difficult."Father, mother, this is Amelia, my wife-to-be," Lucie declared loudly, ensuring they could hear him. Osiris turned towards me, his grey eyes, similar to Lucie's, staring at me before nodding his head. It was no surprise; everyone knew he seldom spoke to anyone except his wife. If she approved of me, that's when he would acknowledge me."Oh my, you are so beautiful!" Verena exclaimed with a smile. Before I knew it, I was in her arms as she jumped up and down with me. Apologizing to Jack felt like trying to piece together shards of glass it was bound to hurt, but it was necessary. For years, jealousy had consumed me. It wasn’t just the envy of his life or the love he shared with Nancy; it was the feeling of always being overshadowed, always living in the shadows of his happiness. I had convinced myself that his success and love life had stolen something from me. And because of that twisted perspective, I had made choices that I could never undo. But now, standing outside his door, I realized the only way forward was to own my mistakes and seek forgiveness, no matter how undeserving I felt.Jack opened the door, his face a mixture of surprise and guarded curiosity. His silence was more terrifying than any argument we could have had.I watched him from the doorway, my chest tightening with guilt and fear. He hadn’t looked at me, hadn’t said anything about what Morana had revealed. It was as if he was retreating into himself, shutting me out completely.I couldn’t take it anymore.Tears blurred my vision as I turned and rushed to our bedroom. Amelia's Point of ViewThe drive home was unusually silent. Ace and Angel had left in a hurry, no doubt to process everything privately. Meanwhile, I found myself in a car with my father and Uncle Nick, the two men who had just uncovered secrets that could have shattered us all.Lucie’s hand rested on mine, his thumb gently stroking the back of it in reassurance.I leaned into his warmth, grateful for his steady presence. Today had been a whirlwind, and I wasn’t sure how to feel about any of it.My mind kept circling back to Morana. Her confession had been shocking, but the CCTV footage… that was the nail in the coffin. Seeing everything play out, hearing the heated argument, and watching the chaos unfold—it was like stepping into a nightmare. The way my father had reacted, the guilt that had clouded his face when Morana revealed the truth, stuck with me. He looked like a man who had been running from his demons for years, only to find them waiting for him all along. We arrived at m

It was deafening, worse than any words they could have hurled at me.Angel’s tear-streaked face was the first to pierce through my defenses. Her voice, shaky but firm, broke the silence.“Dad…” she said, her tone trembling between sorrow and rage. “Please tell me this isn’t true.”I let out a breath, heavy with the burden I had carried for nearly two decades. My hands trembled as I clenched them into fists at my sides. There was no escape now, no more lies to hide behind.“It’s true,” I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper. “I did it.”Gasps erupted around me, and I winced as if their collective shock were physical blows. My eyes darted to Angel again, hoping to find some semblance of understanding in her gaze, but all I saw was devast

The crisp afternoon air brushed against my skin, but it did nothing to cool the heat that burned in my chest. Eighteen years. I had waited eighteen years to speak the truth, and now, as I faced them, the moment felt heavier than I had imagined.Nick stood at the front, his expression hardened, but I could see the confusion in his eyes. He didn’t trust me he never had since that day. I couldn’t blame him. Not after what he saw.“Do you remember,” I began softly, my voice steady despite the chaos swirling inside me, “eighteen years ago when I told you to tell your brother to leave the country with Nancy and the kids?”Nick’s brow furrowed as he nodded, but his confusion deepened.“What does that have to do with anything?” he asked, his tone sharp, impatient.Letting out a slow breath, I turned my gaze to Mike. There he was the cause of all this pain. The man w

Uncle Nick’s Point of ViewThe morning air was crisp as I leaned against my desk, staring at the message on my phone for the hundredth time. Morana’s words haunted me:"I’m tired of hiding. Bring your family and meet me at this spot by 4 PM. I’ll come clean and tell you my part of the story."The text felt unreal, almost like a trick, but it was our first solid lead in years. Was this truly the end of our search? Could we finally put all of this behind us?Yet, I couldn’t shake the unease. Why now? Why after so many years of silence? And why would she want us all there?I pocketed my phone and made my way to the living room, where Ace and Amelia were already waiting. They both looked tense, their eyes betraying a mix of anticipation and distrust. Lucie stood beside Amelia, his protective stance clear as day. Angel sat close to Ace, her presence a calming force in the storm that brewed between us.Then there was Mike Angel’s father. He had been jittery since the message came through,

Mike was never one to back down, not without a reason, and certainly not when it came to protecting his daughter, Angel.I ran a hand through my graying hair, my jaw clenched. My mind spun with theories, but none seemed to stick. Something wasn’t adding up.“This isn’t over,” I muttered, slamming my hand against the desk.I looked out the window, the city lights twinkling in the night. The world moved on as if nothing was amiss, but I knew better. Secrets had a way of bubbling to the surface, and in this family, secrets were our currency—and our downfall."I’m also a Mafia leader," I said aloud to myself, the words biting with bitterness. Her determination to find Morana terrified me.For years, I had buried the truth, locked it away in the deepest corners of my mind, and covered it with layers of lies. But now, with Morana’s name being spoken again, the past I had tried so hard to forget was clawing its way back to the surface.I picked up my glass of whiskey, my hands trembling as I took a sip. My mind wandered to that day eighteen years ago when everything changed. It was a cold evening. The air was thick with tension as I stood in the dimly lit room, the gun heavy in my hand. Her knuckles were pale, her expression unreadable as she stared out the window. My mind was racing. Uncle Nick’s revelation about Morana had been a bombshell none of us were prepared for. The idea that our mother’s death wasn’t due to illness but murder by someone we trusted was unbearable.I gripped the steering wheel tighter, the leather creaking under my palms. “I can’t believe he kept this from us,” I muttered, breaking the silence.Angel glanced at me, her expression softening. “Ace, he thought he was protecting you and Amelia,” she said gently.“Protecting us?” I scoffed. “By lying to us our whole lives?
