Cassie’s POV
I got up to my feet, running off after him as he walked out of the pack house.
Now is my chance… I said to myself.
I ran towards him and was hoping he would get to respond to me properly as he should.
“Alder!” I called out to him as I ran on to him.
And the closer I moved toward him, the stronger his scent grew.
I could feel my wolf howling as I approached him.
Immediately I stepped into the training house with him, he gave me a dead stare.
I paused the minute he stared back at me.
I suddenly contemplated whether or not to proceed with my steps as I saw the look on his face.
All I wanted was to get him to talk to me, as it was starting to feel like he had been avoiding close contact with me ever since the night we found out us being mates.
“I just want to talk!!” I yelled not minding that I was causing a scene calling the attention of the others at the training house.
He turned staring into my eyes with so much rage and anger.
“What do you want?” he asked.
“Are you avoiding me?” I asked boldly.
I looked around to find the others staring as they all paused watching us.
I could suddenly feel the tension in the room as I stood in front of him.
“And what gives you the audacity to speak to me in such a manner?” he asked, walking back towards me.
I could tell from the way he spoke, he didn’t think of me as a potential mate and his future Luna.
I wanted so badly to hold him by the hand, wanting to assure him that I would get even stronger by the day.
“I…I just wanted to talk” I stuttered as I moved a few steps backward watching him walk towards me.
I was sort of scared of what he was up to suddenly walking up to me with so much anger in his eyes.
And what I feared most, was him getting to use his Alpha Command voice on me.
As that definitely would scare the life out of my inner wolf.
My lips trembled as I opened them to speak up wondering why he looked more upset now than he was a few minutes ago.
But I couldn’t utter a word, rather I just stood there staring into his eyes.
“Don’t you dare ruin things around here for me!!” he whispered to me.
“And the next time you follow me around yelling out my name like I was just a random pack member you would hear from me,” he said as he turned his back to leave.
“I haven't done anything wrong to you to be treated this way,” I said with tears welled up in my eyes.
“I…I’m your supposed ma…” And before I could say the words, he had his hand on my face and I suddenly felt it hurt so bad.
I fell to the ground losing my balance, as It was that I never expected him to lay his hands on me.
He held on to my hair, pulling my face up to his.
I winced in pain, as I held on to my hurting cheeks rubbing my hands directly on them.
I tried holding back the tears that welled up in my eyes.
“I can see you are stubborn and lack understanding,” he said.
He leaned forward looking directly into my eyes.
I held back the sudden urge to feel his tender touch on my skin even in the state I was at the moment.
I had my eyes closed the minute he pulled my hair even harder as the tears rolled down my cheeks.
I felt so hurt seeing him treat me this way.
“Here’s a little warning,” he said, holding on to my arm as he had his mouth in my ear as he whispered.
“And you would have to listen and do just exactly as I have said,” he said looking into my eyes.
I had suddenly wished he had his eyes intentionally locked in mine other than him having to stare at me at this moment and laying out a warning to me.
“Don’t you dare, call me your mate,” he said.
I stared at him surprised, wondering why he suddenly yelled at me the way he did.
“Why would you say that!!” I said as tears rolled down my cheeks.
He bit his lower lips like I had said something offensive.
And then, he had his hand right on my cheeks for the second time.
I held on to my face as It was hurting more than before.
“This is clearly not fair!!” I yelled.
I looked around to find the others still staring at us.
“You really want to know what I had in mind the first night I got your scent right?” he said, staring at me.
The look in my eyes told him plainly that I was interested in hearing what he had to say.
“Okay then, if this is what you”
“Then fine!!” he said, pulling me up with my hair.
And then, he had me dragged up to the point where everyone gathered around.
I knew he was suddenly about to do something more than embarrassing to me right in front of the others.
I had my eyes closed, hoping it would all turn out to be a dream.
But eventually, the moment I had my eyes opened, I realized I was living in one of my nightmares and most feared dreams.
I winced in pain, the moment I felt his hands pulling harder on my hair.
“You are going to have to do it,” he yelled.
I looked up into his eyes to find him so preoccupied with wanting me off to have to call my love and mate
I never wanted for any of this either, so you can stop playing the victim now.
Cassie’s POV“I hate that I had to be mated to a weak wolf like yourself” he shot at me.And all I could do was to stare at him as he yelled at me.The moment he had everyone fully focused on us, he turned to face me.I could tell from the look in his eyes that he was going to do something stupid here in embarrassment.“I, Alder Lewiston, the future Alpha of the Sky Prowlers Pack, hereby reject you Cassandra Bellevue as my mate!”I paused the moment he voiced out to me.I couldn't hold the tear that ran down my cheeks.“I refuse to be paired with such a weakling like yourself”“you should have known that I'll never accept you”“Are you even a werewolf or a human?”“You disgust me. Get out of my sight!”I sat there, feeling overly rejected as my very own mate uttered such heartbreaking words to me.My parents were mere omegas, but I was the weakest wolf in the whole pack. And neither was it any of my faults to be born a weak wolf.I stood there staring into his eyes as he looked straig
Cassie's POVI stood there for close to what seemed like an hour contemplating whether or not to jump in.But I thought it to be a stupid acceptance to defeat that I was rejected by my mate.I sat by the edge of the cliff for a couple of minutes to think. My eyes followed the running wondering how far the waters poured. And what it would be like to be carried away by it.I shook off the thoughts of having to jump off the cliff as I thought of heading back to the mansion.Or better still, I would go on to my mother and father. That way I would get to avoid any form of mockery from my other members.I wiped my cheeks completely off the dried tears, as I took a deep breath.I got up to my feet and walked my way back to my mother and father. And was hoping the news hadn't gotten to them that I had been rejected. It was going to make my father mad, but I wasn't to blame anyway.I exhaled tiredly from walking a long distance back to my father and mother realizing it was now getting dark.As
CASSIE’S POVMy head was ringing like a fire alarm and It was painful.A groan left my mouth as I tried to open my eyes. Slowly, I was able to open my eyes and they widened by a fraction when I saw that I was in a room. I was even on a queen sized bed!“I didn’t know heaven had a bed,” I mumbled to myself as I slowly sat up, ignoring the painful headache I had. The room was large with gray walls that had shades of black. There was a large chandelier in dangling from the middle of the ceiling and fairy lights at the edges of the ceiling.“This place is not my room,” I said as I looked around, panic was slowly rising in me. I was about get off the bed when the door opened and a woman walked in.“Darling, you’re awake!” she exclaimed happily as she approached me. Her voice was motherly and my heart clenched at the fact that my mother rarely used that voice with me. What am I saying? She wasn’t even my real mother!“Where am I please?” I asked her quietly as I felt uncomfortable under her
CASSIE’S POVI woke up with heavy eyes that hurt from crying all night. The headache that came along with it made it even more annoying for me. I looked around the room slowly to see that light from the sun was peeking out from the thick window blinds. I looked up at the wall clock on top of the room door to see that it was already eight in the morning. As I was about to sit up, there was a knock on the door. “Come in,” my voice was even hoarse and my throat was dry. “Okay,” I heard the sweet voice of Mrs. Smith as she opened the door. She walked in with a tray of breakfast and my heart skipped a beat. This woman was too nice that it hurt me badly.“Good morning, dear,” she smiled at me. Today, she looked brighter in a yellow dress that made her blue eyes stand out. “Good morning. I’m sorry if I slept late,” I mumbled as I sat up. She laughed and shook her head. “You didn’t sleep late, Cassie. I came to drop your breakfast before I go to work. Feel free to walk around the house and
JACK’S POVI sat on the bench at the practice area outside beside the pack house as I watched Alder. He was busy talking to a stupid bimbo known as Lucy. I actually have nothing against the girl. But knowing that Alder rejected my little sister and didn’t care that she was missing made me want to burn every single girl speaks to.“He’s such a coward,” I mumbled. “And a bastard,” my wolf added and I scoffed. I wish there was a stronger word I could use to describe him. The fact that we even breathe the same air irritates me, even though I know it’s childish of me. I didn’t even want to talk to my parents again.I looked up to see Josiah walking towards me. He just came back with the search squad from looking for Cassie. He shook his head at me and sadness engulfed my heart again.“We couldn’t even get her scent again. Wherever she went, she went very far away,” he said to me. My mind and heart became troubled over this. “We need to find her, Joe. She’s still young and incapable of defe
LUNA CELINA’S POVI couldn’t believe it!Surely, this was a prank. It had to be a prank. There’s no way, this girl standing in front of me could me mine.My wolf whined in the back of my head and it made my heart skip a beat.Trying to regain composure, I swallowed hard and cleared my throat. “How old are you, child?” I asked her.“Eighteen,” she replied. I looked at Vincenzo, who gave me a squeeze on my hand. I shook my head; I couldn’t handle this any longer.“Excuse me please,” I said and rushed out of the office. I even caught a whiff of her scent and I nearly fainted. It was so familiar, too familiar to be exact.“She looks so much like me,” I mumbled as tears fell from my cheeks.CASSIE’S POVMy chest tightened when the Luna left. I felt like crying, like I was rejected for the second time.“I’m s-sorry,” I tried hard not to cry. I didn’t mean to make the Luna leave. “There’s nothing to be sorry for, dear. Maybe you should come back later,” he said and turned to Gerald. “Thank y
CASSIE’S POVI was sitting outside on the lawn, watching Loki as she played with the squeaky ball that I gave her. The little puppy was so engrossed in playing with the toy that it made me laugh whenever she got excited when it squeaked.“You’re such a funny dog,” I said to the small creature. It looked up at me and let out a bark before turning its attention back to the squeaky ball.“Cassandra”I looked up to see Mrs. Smith approaching me. She was dressed in a green dress and her blonde hair was in a neat bun.“Mrs. Smith, you’re back early,” I said in surprise. I’m pretty sure we weren’t in the afternoon yet.“Yes, I am. The Alpha and Luna asked me to invite you to lunch with them,” she said with a bright smile and my eyes widened. My heart also skipped a beat at this. “Why?” I couldn’t help but ask. “If you want to be initiated into the pack, they need to know about you,” she said to me and I nodded.“I don’t know the place,” I said to her. Loki ran to her and licked her shoe, mak
LUNA CELINA’S POVAnger filled me as I looked at Cassandra. She didn’t even look like she was disturbed about the fact that her own mate rejected her. How could that boy reject her?“Who is he?” I tried not let my anger show in my voice, but it was hard. Vincenzo was also trying not to let his emotions take the best of him. “He’s the Alpha son,” Cassandra answered with a small smile and then shrugged. “It’s not like anyone would want to accept a mate that was weak and had no wolf, not to mention an Alpha,” she said with a small laugh.I knew that laugh, it meant she was mocking herself. My wolf growled my head, it wanted to let her know that she wasn’t weak.“Do you ever wish to find your real parents?” I heard Vincenzo say. I was focused on stopping my claws from elongating. Being a lycan meant having a greater deal of self-control can other wolves.“I don’t know. I don’t know if they’re still alive or if they live far away. Or maybe, they don’t want me,” I could hear the hurt behin
