I flinched when sunlight hit my eyelids before opening an eye and attempting to block the offending light. I turned to my side and was immediately greeted by a very much naked and beautiful woman next to me. A shewolf I met last night in a bar. Vague memories from last night played in my head.
What's her name again? Glenda? Gladys? I'm sure it starts with G.
Not even bothering to remember the name of the shewolf I slept with last night, I removed the blanket covering my naked body before standing up and flexing my muscles. I pulled out a clean shirt and new pair of jeans from my dresser before taking a quick shower before I start my duty.
It did not take long for me to finish and I saw the shewolf still very much asleep and I smirked in arrogance. I can't remember what happened in details, but I know I did a number on her seeing all the marks on her body. Damn, was the sex even good? It must have been forgettable seeing as I can't remember a thing. For me, sex with every shewolf is the same and I haven't met someone who can make me remember the night we spent the day after.
I covered her body with my blanket before picking up the pile of paper and a pen I always have from my bedside table. I left her a note instructing her to leave before noon before leaving it somewhere she will see immediately and walking out of my room.
I was about to enter my office, but stopped when my sensitive hearing picked up the sound of some voices fighting and arguing. Sighing, I dropped the hand that's about to open the door to attend to the unknown chaos. I saw some of my pack warriors and my Delta, August, pushing a man who I guess is in his mid 20's away from the fence. I also took note of a few omegas scattered around the scene and watching.
They all turned around and stood straight when they sensed me approaching.
"What is happening here?" I boomed and they all bowed. "Why are you pushing the man away and you, why are you outside my perimeter? What pack do you belong to and what business do you have here?"
"Alpha, he's from Bluemoon Pack, an omega who was thrown out and wants to seek refuge to us by joining." August answered me.
I immediately frowned at what I heard before my lips curled in distaste. Bluemoon pack, a pack who's known to abuse their Omegas and treat them as slaves and not their own. It is disgusting and repulsive that some of the other pack in our community abuses and treat their Omegas as slaves or servants. They are werewolves like us. The same species Goddess created alongside us.
And it's not uncommon that some of the rogues or those who couldn't take the abuse of their own pack anymore, turns to my pack or the other domestic pack like us to seek refuge and home. Because unlike those heartless Alphas, my pack sees everyone as equal.
And I know my pack isn't pushing him away just because he's an Omega, but because he's a stranger. A potential threat to us.
"Mountain Peek isn't an orphanage." A warrior of mine spat out.
It's true that for the past months, a few will attempt to join my pack and beg for their lives.
"Please! I finally had the courage to leave my pack. I couldn't take the abuse anymore. I promise I mean no harm. I just need to... to find a new home for me and for my son." The man begged, fear evident in his eyes. And desperate tears cascading down his face.
I took my time to study the man, he's wearing a pair of worn out clothes, mud and dirt painted his clothing and some part of his bodies. Probably in attempt to run as far and fast as he can. Plus, I can smell blood from his bruises and cuts. Some of them are healing, and some are fresh.
"Son?" I asked, when I remember what he said, my eyes following his side or behind him to see any kid but found none.
As if hearing that I'm searching for him, a loud wail came from behind the man and he turned to the side just to show us a baby clinging on his back and hidden in his bag. My heart broke a little and my fists clenched when I saw bruises on the baby's face. A quick sniff was all it took to find out that he's an Omega, too.
"Did your pack hurt your son, too?" I asked lowly, but dangerously, my wolf clawing inside me to come out and demand justice.
Just like me, my wolf will not sit back and ignore injustice. He hates those who uses their title to hurt someone.
The man nodded with a solemn look before hugging his son to his chest while bouncing him softly. "I just left him to do my chores, but I came back to the Delta beating him just because he wouldn't stop crying."
"Those filths." August cursed under his breath.
"Please! I am begging you," the man begged before kneeling on the ground. "I-If you can't take me, a-at least adopt my son, he's innocent and he might die with me."
Murmurs of disapproval and some who's actually willing to accept the father and son reached my ears, but I blocked them out.
I felt my wolf trying to connect to me so I opened our link and heard his voice.
'Accepting only the baby means separating them, and the man will die in the wild, if he's lucky enough, he's old pack won't find him and he can live as a rogue, but luck is like waiting for a drop of water in the desert. I know I don't always agree on you about accepting about outsiders, but I have a feeling that he isn't a bad man.'
I closed the link and took a deep breath. "A week. I want you to show me your worth as a potential member of my pack. Accepting you means threatening the safety of my family, and I won't have that. Once I know I can trust you enough, you and your son will be accepted."
The man seemed to cry harder before nearly injuring himself by repeatedly slamming his forehead on the ground before I stopped him.
"Thank you! Thank you so much! Goddess was right in leading me to your pack, she must have known you will accept us. Thank you, young Alpha."
I nodded my head before turning to August. "Let him settle in and keep a close eye on him. Give him duties and have someone study his every move. The moment he shows even just a little sign of being a threat, I want you to report to me." I instructed him while patting his shoulder and turned to leave.
This time, I successfully turned the knob to my office and my eyes automatically zeoring on the scattered documents waiting for my attention. I sighed and sat down on my chair before facing my computer and starting it, only for unread emails to greet me.
I picked up the first paper I saw on top of my table and prepared to read it when there's a knock on my door.
"Come in." I said without looking up, with my heightened senses more than normal weres, I immediately picked up his scent even before he stepped inside the mansion.
"Good morning, Alpha. I heard about what happened."
"It would be weird if you didn't." I answered as my eyes read the letters on the paper I'm holding.
"You turned away most of the rogues who wandered near us no matter how much they beg. What made him special?" My Beta and my best friend, Samson asked as he stand in front of my table.
I jotted down what is needed on the first paper and laid it on the clean side of my table before answering him. "My instict told me he isn't a bad man and that he might be become a help in our pack. My wolf even said so."
Samson hummed under his breath. "The Elder called again."
My hand stilled and I resisted the urge to crumple the paper I'm currently reading. "For the millionth time, I was not, am not, and I still won't be interested in finding a mate, and I want you to tell them exactly that."
The Elders have been bugging me about finding a mate to lead my pack alongside me, but I have been dodging that idea. For me, women are distractions. And they will only hinder my duties, the duties that have been passed down to me since I was young, and I don't want to change that anytime soon. I dismissed him and buried my head in my work until it’s time for training.
I was making my way back to my office from the training area when I crossed paths with the man from earlier.
He bowed his head, and I nodded mine in return. I was about to pass by him when I caught a scent that made my whole body still and my wolf go crazy in me.
'Mate!'
'What mate, you crazy wolf? He's a man!'
"Alpha, are you alright?"
I turned to the man and noticed him holding onto something and something in me made me snatch that cloth to inhale the lingering scent there and I could feel my wolf fighting to come out and chase the owner of the wonderful scent. It was faint, and the baby and the man's scent were more dominant, maybe that's why I didn't smell it earlier, but it's there.
"Where did you get this cloth?"
Kishna's POVI watched our twins who are now five-year olds chase each other while laughing and the sound of their laughter took away the fatigue I have from scouting the area and fighting off three rogues. My heart jumped when Morty fell and I was about to help him when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned to see my mate who shook his head and pointed at the scene. And we watched in amazement when Ara, my omega daughter who inherited my traits, helped her Alpha brother and even checked to see if he had wounds. "Are you all right, Morty? Let me help you. I blow it too so the pain shoo-shoo."My mate and I stared at the touching scene in front of us and I held his hand while he kissed the side of my head. "They are growing up so fast. Soon, they will be old enough to lead the pack so we can retire." He joked and I elbowed him. "Let them grow and enjoy their youth."It's not every day that we get to experience joyous moments like today. Most times, I have to deal with my own pack
Leonel's POV"Calm down, will you?" Samson snapped when he finally got enough of me pacing back and forth in front of my wife and I's room. "They'll be fine."I stopped pacing and let out a harsh sigh. "How did you overcome this? It's nerve wracking and I am thinking of millions of scenarios in my head.""That is the point, Nel. Don't think. Trust the doctor with her and trust your wife that she'll make it.""Don't be so harsh on him. After all, this is Klaire's first labor and it's twins."I went to my mother and gave her a hug. "Finally someone who understands me."My mother laughed and patted my back. My parents and I, Samson as well as Klaire's friends are all waiting for the news. It's been ten hours and we haven't heard a single cry of a newborn. I am barely stopping myself from barging in there to know what's happening, but my mom reassured me by saying that it's normal. Apparently as I'm bigger than an average baby, it took them eighteen hours to get me out without hurting he
Klaire's POVSomehow, I knew our plan would succeed because our intention was pure and because we trust each other. The day before the incident, it was Leonel who suggested it. His instinct told him that the council will make a move soon, and so we decided to make our own move ahead of them. None of us questioned his instinct because Leonel is known to have a sharp instinct.Leonel and I will sacrifice ourselves and we will make the prophecy happen. Anne was reluctant to let go of the book first, but we convinced her that we'll get it back. And Nile and Samson were assigned to make the final move. I witnessed how the weather changed and how the mansion is also affected. I watched silently as what's written in the prophecy happened one by one. We were just not prepared for the lives we lost and my mate almost lost his control and ruined our plan, but he managed to calm himself just in time. The flyers fell down from the sky like leaves and droplets of rain, and we waited for the cha
Leonel's POVThe council and the elders have been strangely quiet for a week now. And you should never be too calm when that happens. Because calmness is usually followed by a huge storm. "It's a beautiful day today, don't you think?" Klaire pointed out with a bright smile on her face as we walked hand in hand. "It is. It's so beautiful and sunny that it's almost alarming.""Come on. Don't be too pessimistic now." I stopped and pressed a kiss on her knuckles. "It's not being pessimistic, my love. It's called being realistic.""Alaska still refuses to come out?" She asked once we started walking again. "Yes, but I can feel him peeking out from his cave every now and then. How about Kishna?"Klaire shrugged with a pout and I found that adorable. "She's talking to me now, but whenever we're together, she will shut me off.""What can we do to fix this and have them reconciled?""It's their choice, Leonel. I can feel that they still love each other, but maybe we should wait until they
Klaire's POVI am avoiding Leonel. I know it's childish and I know we'll have to meet and talk about us eventually, but until I'm ready, can't I avoid him for now? It's been two days since then. My wound is healing nicely, thanks to my wolf's fast healing ability. The time I'm resting, I discovered my newfound senses. My eyes can see things clearly when when they are far away. Even when I locked myself in our room, I can smell what they are cooking in the kitchen and it's located on the mansion. I can also hear footsteps and laughter outside. Before someone can open the door, I'd know someone's there and who's behind it. And don't even mention the strength I now have. If it's my old weak body, I will still be bedridden. It has been two days as well when they told me that Leonel went against the council who ordered him to reject me instead of breaking his and Marsh's engagement. I am torn and it's not helping that my wolf, Kishna, had been silent ever since the night we were kidnap
Klaire's POVI lifted my eyelids that seemed to weigh a thousand kilos and winced when I was blinded by the light."Pau, please turn off the light." I asked my friend and moved to turn to my side but moaned in pain instead when I felt a pinch of pain from my side."Uhm, I think it'll be hard to turn off the sun, Klaire." I heard Pau answer and I tried to open my eyes again while blocking the blinding light. What happened to me all came back at once and I sat up, which made me feel dizzy for a second and I felt someone helping me stay upright. Getting kidnapped, almost violated by the rogues, shifting to my wolf and talking to her! I remembered the fight and how Kishna was disappointed and shocked when something hit her. She easily fought the other rogues, but a loud shot was heard. We saw Zella holding a gun before Martina pulled her away to escape. I remember Kishna shaking her head while looking at her wound and saying how pathetic we became and even using our own weakness to gai
