Chapter Five

last update Last Updated: 2021-05-12 15:55:32

Ava.

I stood at the entrance of the Billionaire's club and stared at the building in awe.

It was a tall, big building with glass windows that were shut close. 'Billionaire's Club' was written boldly in blue glowing letters on a huge board just above the door. I fisted my palm nervously.

I walked towards the bouncers that stood at the entrance and gulped visibly when their eyes locked with mine. There were about four of them in front of the double doors and I waved shyly.

"Who are you? and state your business here" One of them asked with a piercing in his nose and I jerked at the tone of his voice before shuffling through my bag for my CV and showing it to them.

"My name is Ava Delaney. I-m here for an interview for the waitress position" I said and they looked at each other before the one with a piercing spoke to the telecom in his ear.

"Boss. There's a woman here. Ava Delaney for the waitress position." He said, glancing briefly at me.

He listened before turning back to me. "You're late" He said before stepping aside.

I muttered a thank you and dashed in. I knew I was late. After my meeting with Jayden yesterday, I had gotten home to find the drainage broken again and the hallways were starting to flood. Together with the neighbors, we had it cleaned and booked a meeting with the landlady which she quickly dismissed.

After the long day I had slept in and woken up a few hours ago. I was supposed to have gotten here by 3pm but I woke up past 2 and before I got ready and took the long road here, it was already past 6.

I looked around the club as I was blasted by loud pop music from the tall speakers. As usual the club was already filled with people, but there was a huge difference to the other ones around.

For one, it was freaking huge. And as Jayden had said, there was a small casino, and pool games around. Some people were gathered around a round table with cards and colored dice.

Some were on the dance floor, swaying their bodies to the sound of music. There were even a few strippers almost naked, dancing on a small stage with a long pole at various parts of the club.

There were even two more floors in here, and from the looks of it, there were VIP booths, but I quickly looked away when I heard my name being called.

"Ava. You're late. I should send you back but since you know my friend Jayden I'll give you one last shot. If I don't like you, you won't be accepted. Come with me" A tall lean man came into my line of vision and my voice got caught in my throat.

He wore a red silk suit, with his inner shirt opened exposing pale skin underneath it. He was a fine young man with a bit of an effeminate look to him. He had small eyes that made him appear Asian. With lips that he clearly applied lipstick to. His eyes were a bright shade of blue, but cold and stern as he looked at me from head to toe, a frown upon his lips. He looked like a supermodel and my eyes widened at his sight.

"I- I'm sorry. I caught a late bus to-" I stammered loudly over the music and the man waved his hand as if driving a mosquito from his ears.

"I couldn't care less why you're late. Come with me to the back room, let's talk. You're scaring my guests with your horrible outfit." He said harshly before walking away.

I found my footing and followed him trying to keep up with his long strides. I felt a little embarrassed because truly I was already getting disgusted stares from people. I didn't belong here, everyone was either putting on suits or expensive looking clothes and I was wearing a blue straight skirt and a white shirt with a worn out black shoe. This was my most favorite corporate wear!

I said nothing and followed the man. He was strict. I thought. But it was nothing new, Mr Tony from the hotel was the same. Rich bosses were always like that, I noticed. And I didn't mind. As far as it paid well, you could hate me, I couldn't care less.

The man opened the door and I walked in with him. It was an office and he pointed to a chair which I quickly sat on. He looked at me for a while before turning to the bigger chair behind the table.

"Let me see your CV" He said, and I quickly took it out and handed it to him.

My hands grew sweaty as he quietly went through it, flipping the page loudly. It seemed he didn't like me. And it worried me. He hardly even knew me! How can you hate someone you don't know?!

He dropped the CV on the table before folding his arms and resting his back against the chair. His blue eyes watching me as if trying to figure me out.

"Why didn't you go to college?" He asked suddenly and I smiled softly.

"My mom died and there wasn't enough money to take me to school." I replied curtly.

"Do you have any other family members? Alive?"

"Yes. I have a twin sister." I said, looking away at the blue curtains at his left. It was already dark outside and I could see the faint glowing of the moon.

"Where's she?" He asked sharply.

What does this have to do with being a waitress? I wanted to ask but I figured he didn't really like me to start with. No need to act so defensive and lose any hope of getting this job, so I replied to him.

"She has cancer and is at the hospital currently" Something flashed in those blue eyes of his and he stood up abruptly and I shifted backwards in my seat.

"Are you familiar with working in a club?"

Should I lie? If I don't have any experience with working at a club he would probably decline me. But if I lied, he would ask why it wasn't written in my CV.

Ugh..

"No. This would be my first time." I answered truthfully.

"That's if you get picked. Are you familiar with different kinds of drinks?"

"No"

"How about dealing with arrogant men who might touch you a few times without your approval?"

Does the arrogant Mikhail from the hotel count? I mean he was arrogant too.

"No, I've only worked as a cleaner in a hotel"

The man sighed in disappointment and I lowered my head. I wasn't going to get picked. I was underqualified for the job.

"Jayden's just joking with me." He muttered under his breath and I snapped my head to him.

"Please sir. I'm super hardworking and can learn anything in a short time. I'm also very dedicated to every job I've done. This is my first time applying as a waitress. And if I'm given a chance I promise I'll do better than you imagined." I blurted out sharply, giving him a serious look.

He said nothing except looked at me as if trying to figure me out once more.

"Do you wear heels?" He asked after a few seconds and I raised my eyebrows. How does that have to do with taking orders?

"Uhm…" I didn't but there was no harm in saying I did. I could learn how to walk in heels. It was easy.

Or wasn't it?

I mean it was just a pair of shoes with a small stick at the end.

"Yes I do" I lied and the man hmm before sitting once again. I felt my shoulders fall.

"Are you comfortable in revealing clothes?" He asked again and I thought once more.

Oh God! I don't think I was comfortable in clothes that revealed my breast cleavages. What should I do? The pay flashed in my mind again. Four hundred dollars per night!

"Yes I am. I can wear any pair of clothing and hold my head high". I lied comfortably.

"Good. This job might result in a few lustful men touching you without your permission. Some might call you seductive names but you shouldn't reply. If it amounts to a touch that's included in your private parts don't hesitate to tell me. Such attitudes wouldn't be accepted in my club." he said quickly and I nodded my head in understanding.

"There are also a set of rules you must follow if you're hired here. If you disobey any of them, you would be fired and never considered in any of my clubs as a worker." He said sharply, turning his chair.

"Ok sir." I replied and he raised a brow at me.

"Good" He stood up again and my shoulders tensed once more as my eyes followed him.

"The first rule is you must not have any interaction with any of the billionaire's both inside and outside the club. You aren't on their level. Rich business men come here, men and women who own major companies, and shares. You must not speak to them except if you're taking an order from them"

"If spoken to outside their orders, you must reply respectfully. But if there's no questions asked you must remain silent. They have no business with you, here or outside. I doubt someone like you would even have any business with any billionaire outside the club." He eyed me for a moment before looking away.

A sharp pain of embarrassment sliced through me at his disrespect but I said nothing else as he continued speaking.

"The second rule. You must not sleep with any of the billionaires here either make or female. I don't care about your sexual preferences." He said sternly before walking up to me, I shivered and moved backwards a little.

He placed his hand on my chair, just beside my eyes, and snapped my face so I was facing him. A sweet smell of expensive cologne hit my nose as I tried to maintain eye contact with his cold blue ones.

"You are a waitress and not a stripper. I have girls who would please any of the men or women that come in here. Your job is to serve them drinks and nothing else. If any of them request a night with you, you must decline immediately. If you are caught in any romantic relationship with any of the men or women here, you would be fired immediately." He said sharply and I nodded in fear.

It wasn't like I was going to be interested in any of the cocky rich bastards that came in here. Rich men weren't even my type. They were arrogant pieces of shits. My mind flashed to Mikhail and a pang of anger flooded through my veins.

"Trust me sir. The last thing I'll ever do is have a relationship with anybody from here." I said confidently and he drew back, folding his arms and raising a brow at me.

"Do you think you can stand the men here? They are very rich and if they have eyes on you, you might not be able to resist. They would go any length to get you." He said, narrowing his eyes at me.

"I'm certain I wouldn't fall in love with any billionaire. And none of them would even like me. Like you said, I'm not special." I answered back and the boss sighed, folding his arms.

"The third rule. Every waitress and waiter has a dress code here. You must dress according to the dress code. Every night there's a new outfit for everyone. Don't worry your costumes will be provided for you. Also you would have to apply makeup and your hair must be tied according to the dress code. But don't worry about all that, I have girls who will dress you all." He explained.

Dress code? I was sick of wearing a plain white shirt and black skirt with a name tag like I was some sort of object at a museum.

"Since you said you are comfortable with revealing clothes and you wear heels. We wouldn't have any problem. The waitresses aren't out yet, because they are in the dressing room. You must not fight with any of them, not steal anything. Those are my rules. Can you follow them?" He asked, his blue eyes glaring holes in mine.

Don't take to any Billionaire. Don't sleep with any billionaire and wear the outfit provided for every night.

Piece of cake.

"Yes sir." I responded and he nodded, holding out his hand to me.

"Good then. You're hired."

I satl up, grinning from ear to ear as I shook his hand excitedly. He quickly drew back and wiped his hand with a handkerchief. But I didn't mind.

I was hired! I got an amazing job with a huge pay! I couldn't be more glad. I had to tell Avery about this when I got to the hospital.

"Thank you so much sir. When do I start?" I asked excitedly, clinging to my bag.

"Today. And call me Aiden." He said sharply, picking up my CV and handing it back to me.

"Today? Like right now?" I asked with open eyes, my heart pounded loudly in my chest as I gripped my bag nervously after taking my CV from him.

"Yes. Come with me to the dressing room. I'll introduce you to the girls" He started for the door and I followed him quickly.

"Uhm.. Mr Aiden please, what's the dress code for tonight?" I asked curiously, looking around the hallway.

Aiden turned to look at me, a sly smirk on his face with an evil gleam in those cold blue eyes, I felt a shiver run down my spine when he answered.

"Sexy lingerie."

Chimdi Jane Samuel

I just love Aiden, I hope you do too. What do you think about him? Also the rules have been given to Ava, do you think she can keep them? Find out more in the next chapter. Also please drop a review and vote too. Thanks ~Jane♥️

I think this young woman is so naive that she will have a hard time working in that club. She shouldn't have lied to her boss because the 1st time she tries to walk in heels she may twist her ankle, or drop a tray full of drinks when a guy gets too" handsy " with her. We will see.

Mikhail Ivanshov. A knock sounded on my door and for a second I thought it was the cleaner girl coming back to apologise for wetting my bed and practically messing up my room, but I had seen her leaving the building from my windows. A pang of guilt hit me but I quickly shove it aside. I don't have time for petty things like this and arguments with cleaners. I hardly even came in contact with them because of this. They were rude, arrogant and proud even though they had nothing. My father had taught me that poor people had the biggest ego. I suddenly didn't feel bad for what I had done to the girl, I smirked but frowned once more when the trail of dirty water reached my foot. This is disgusting.

Ava. "Se- sexy lingerie?" I gasped in shock and Aiden smirked before looking away from me and walking further down the hallway. "Yes. You mentioned you were comfortable in revealing clothes, isn't that right?" He stopped, not turning back to look at me. "Uhm. I mean yes. But I didn't know it would be something as sexy as that." I stammered, fisting my palm nervously.. "We have a strict policy here. We want our waitresses to look as sexy as possible. We have millionaires, billionaires and politicians coming here. I need to capture their attention and if not with drinks, then with my workers. You're the one representing the club. Now hurry, the girls would soon be moving out." Ava. To say I was shocked was an understatement. My eyes widened at the man in front of me. He looked the same as in the hotel, but there was a sexy, deadly aura around him in his grey suit which I just totally ruined. A frown came upon his face as he glared down at me, I staggered backwards, blushing hard from embarrassment. God! Why did I have to meet him again? Especially after the stunt I pulled off at the hotel room. Oh Lord! Why now of all times? And now that I had to spill the drinks all over him! He was right. I never got my job right. "Uhm. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to ruin your clothes" I mumbled, shifting away from him before bending down to pick up the broken pieces of the glass. I suddenly wished I hadn'

Ava. "So let me start from the bottom. Here in Billionaire's Club there are Ten Levels of Wealth. And these ten levels are divided into three groups. The lower four, the middle three and the top three. But you'll understand me when I explain further" Olivia started and I sighed in anticipation. "Now the lower four have four levels, and they are the ones occupying downstairs. Number 10 in the Level of Wealth is the 'High Rich'. These classes of people are the regular rich ones, with good businesses and start ups. They are richer than the average man making them number ten on the list" Olivia explained before taking my hand and leading me to the railings pointing out a group of men and women, dancing on the floor. Just beside the stripers who were dancing seductively and waving at a few men.

Mikhail. "Boss? Are you listening to me?" Zach asked, drawing my eyes away from Ava who didn't take her gaze away from mine. I couldn't hear what the other waitress was talking to her about. But it seemed like she was giving Ava a run down of the people in the club from the way she was pointing at people, and the way they looked around each floor. Seeing Ava here was shocking. After I had gotten her fired at the hotel I hadn't expected her to get another job so soon, and here nonetheless. But that wasn't the most shocking thing that had happened today. No. It was the way she looked that shook me to the very core. At the hotel she looked different, with her hair tied roughly behind her head and the uniform she

Ava. The rest of the night went by a blur. And by the time I was back at the dressing room my legs were aching badly, and I had totally forgotten to pull down my clothes. I got a little conformable in them that I had forgotten about it. Being a waitress wasn't as easy as tv shows made it out to be, I had come in contact with rude men, arrogant jerks and proud women. I wanted to yank their earnings out of their ears. I also learned the difference between drinks and had memorized their names. While I still made mistakes serving them the wrong ones, I soon learned them right. And despite the large number of rude guests, there were still a few nice ones. Ava. I left the hospital feeling sad and broken. After spending a few more minutes watching over Avery it was already afternoon and I had lunch with Jayden just before I headed to work. I walked into the hot sun feeling it heat against my skin. I suddenly regretted wearing this black shirt and washed jeans with blue sandals which I had sewn together many times. I had left my hair down for once, and it fell on my shoulders in a wavy length. I raised my hand to shield my face from the burning sun and walked down the road heading to a bus stop where I would get a bus to the restaurant I was supposed to meet Jayden. I stood at the bus stop for a while and the bus came. I hurried in taking a seat by the window and placed my purse on my lap.
