Aria walked quickly with her small legs. She sometimes ran to make her steps faster. The streets were empty now and it a bit scary to walk alone in the midnight, which was one of the reasons why she was in a hurry. Another reason was because she didn't want to miss the last bus tonight.
BANG!!
The loud gunshot made her flinch and immediately froze in place.
The sound of gunfire was very clear in her ears, it was not far from where she was standing.
Aria didn’t dare to step any further. Her heart was beating faster. It's midnight. In a small town like this, it is possible that there will be criminals everywhere. She always remembers her grandmother's advice. But unfortunately, Aria often ignores her own safety.
This is all because of the jobs she is currently doing.
The sound of footsteps and yells of several people from inside the alley, which was only a few hundred meters from where she was currently standing, made her widen her eyes and think fast.
Hide!
Aria quickly hid behind the wall of the small alley right next to her. She glued herself to the wall and hoped that no one would notice her presence.
“Go! Go!” A man's voice shouted. He seemed to be commanding other people. Aria could hear more than two people coming out of the alley where the gunshots came from.
"You sure you killed him?" asked another voice. Aria widened her eyes.
“Not sure. But I could see he was shot.” Then the loud sound of car tires screeching could be heard.
“What are you waiting for?! Let's go!"
Aria closed her eyes and tightly grasped the pendant her grandmother gave her. One hand was ready to hold the pepper sprayer she had prepared from home.
If she was caught here, she could at least spray this pepper in their eyes and run away.
That's what was on her innocent mind.
Good luck was on her side. The car drove away and they were completely unaware of the girl behind the wall in the alley nearby.
Aria waited until she didn't hear the sound of the car anymore. When she was sure that the street was quiet and no one was passing by, Aria slowly poked her head out.
Luckily, the narrow alley where she was hiding was poorly lit. So if someone passed this way, they probably wouldn't notice Aria peeking out of the narrow alley.
She looked around, squinting at every corner of the street. After making sure that this area is indeed empty. She walked out of there.
Aria walked slowly, even tiptoeing a little as she almost approached the alley where she heard the gunshots earlier.
This alley was brighter than the alley where she was hiding. So, Aria dared to stick her head out a little and look inside. At least she had to make sure that no one ambushed her from there. Because if she wanted to go home, she had to go through this alley. It turns out there was no one there. There is only one large barrel which is used as a temporary trash can.
Just about to breathe a sigh of relief, Aria gasped when she heard a loud sound. It was the trash can. Aria quickly turned around and wanted to run, but she remembered something.
Could it be an injured person?
Aria closed her eyes. She wanted to ignore this, but she always followed her heart.
Aria slowly moved forward and entered the alley. Once again, the large trash can moved, stopping her in her tracks.
Of course she was afraid. What if the person she wants to help is also a bad person?
“Hello?” she whispered softly. Aria took out her pepper spray and started pointing it forward.
"Is anybody there?" Aria asked again. She didn't dare to raise her voice. She was afraid that another bad person would jump out and harm her.
Aria looked behind the trash can and suddenly her eyes widened when she saw a man was sitting there. He appeared to be holding his stomach.
The man was already looking at her sharply.
“S-sir… Are you okay?” Aria asked quietly. Blood dripped from his hand covering the wound on his stomach.
“You think?”
Aria swallowed hard. This scarry man spoke in such a cold tone. Aria looked at him again. He dressed like ordinary human being, t-shirt and trousers, all in black. But she could see the tattoo that covers his left arm. He looked ordinary, but didn’t felt like one. His aura is intimidating
He seemed to be holding his wound, but Aria didn't hear the slightest groan of pain.
Aria couldn't see the his face clearly, because the light here was blocked by this large trash can.
“You're hurt…” Aria walked over. The man remained still and didn't move at all. He appeared to be leaning against the wall.
Maybe he was weak because of the blood flowing from the wound. Aria thought.
She then looked for something in her small bag.
Aria took out a pink handkerchief. She handed it to him.
"Here, use this."
The man didn't flinch for a moment. Aria hesitated. Actually, this didn’t seemed to need her help.
When she was about to withdraw her hand. The man stretched out his bleeding hand and took the handkerchief from Aria.
Aria didn't realize that she had been holding her breath. Even though she couldn't see this man's face clearly, she already felt intimidated by him.
“Ugh…”
Aria's eyes widened. This was the first time she heard the man groan in pain. Aria, who basically has a heart full of sympathy, subconsciously tried to help the man.
"Don't press too hard, this will prevent too much blood from coming out." Aria helped the man put pressure on his wound and tried to calm him down.
“What have you done to meet those people? Are you home from work too?” Aria asked innocently.
"Work? Yes, I'm working?” The man answered. Still in a cold tone.
Aria took a deep breath. “I get that. Some of us really have to work until midnight like this. How did you meet them? Did they rob you?” Aria asked repeatedly.
"You can say that." The man answered briefly.
"Oh no... Wait, I'll call an ambulance and the police." Aria reached back into her small bag. But her stopped her.
The man's big, cold hand held Aria's tiny hand.
"No need. My friend will be here soon.” He said. Aria looked at his face in the darkness. She could see that a pair of eyes were looking at her intently.
"Okay..." Aria nodded. She wanted to let go of his hand, but that cold and big hand still wrapped around her tiny hand.
"Ugh.." The man groaned. Aria panicked again.
"Wait I have something." He let go of her hand and Aria search something into her small bag.
It turned out that the beautiful girl took out a small packet of red candy. She opened it and thrust it into his mouth.
“Aaa…” She asked him to open up his mouth. “This is candy, I don't have any medicine in my bag. But I hope you just focus on this candy.” She said. The man opened his mouth and ate it.
Aria withdrew her hand quickly when accidentally, her finger touched the man's lips.
Aria cleared her throat. "Your friend took a long time, We should call the ambulance." She said. She now sighing in defeat that she just missed the last bus tonight.
"What's your name?" The man's deep voice, made her shudder.
“Jasmine.” She lied. She didn't want to tell her real name to someone she didn't know in a situation like this.
Not long after, a car parked in front of the alley and Aria froze.
"That's my friend." said the man.
“How can you be so sure? What if they were the people who shot you earlier?” Aria then ready to fire her pepper spray.
The man chuckled.
“Young Master!” Several footsteps ran towards them. This made Aria even more afraid.
“Kiel! I'm here!” The man call out to that voice.
Kiel, the one he was calling, arrived. He also wore all black, just like this injured man.
“My friend! You're taking too long. Jasmine and I have been waiting for ages here.” He spoke inddifrently but Kiel gulped in fear.
“F-friend? Young mas…”
"Kiel, my friend, won't you help me?" The man stretched out his tattooed hand, right behind Aria. Meanwhile, Aria was silent and still ready with her pepper spray.
“Yes! Yes. I will help you.” Kiel quickly helped his friend.
Kiel carried his injured friend and now they all stood under the light.
That's where Aria saw how handsome the injured man's face was."Don't you want to help me?" Said the man stretched out his hand towards Aria.
“My friend will drive the car, he can't take me there. Ugh…” The man winced in pain. Aria, who was confused, immediately approached him. She took his hand and put it around her shoulders.
Kiel looked confused but he immediately ran to the car to open the door.
Aria was confused. Weren't there a lot of footsteps just now? She didn't see anyone, only his friend who looked very confused.
Why does he look confused, instead of panicking?
Aria helped the man get into the car. She breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, this man would not just die on the side of the road, she thought.
"You're not coming in?" said the man.
"Oh, I'll go straight home." Aria answered.
"By what?" asked the man.
"My friend will take me to the hospital, and also take you home. Just consider this as my gratitude for helping me.” said the man.
Aria hesitated. She didn't know these people. What if they are bad people?
“The people who shot me earlier will definitely come back to check whether I’m dead or not. If they find you, they will definitely kidnap you. Are you sure you want to go home alone?”
Aria pouted after hearing it. Of course she was afraid. With that, she got into the car and closed the door.
It's dark inside the car. Of course, the innocent Aria didn't see the wide grin on that man’s handsome face.
Two months later.Aria smiled with relief as she arranged the last pack of flowers that arrived today. She sighed heavily but smiled form on her beautiful face. Finally, she could finally go home.Today was very busy, because many new flowers have arrived. And her job is to arrange these flowers in some beautiful buckets and ready to be arranged according to the customer's order.Sbe really likes this job. She can arrange so many kind of beautiful flowers every day. Even though she sometimes feels tired, but when she stared at those flowers, she felt refresh and ready to continue her work."Dear, can you close the shop for me? Take the key with you, I probably come late tomorrow."Conni, the florist owner approached Aria with her usual warm smile. She nodded and returned her smile."Yes, Mam!" She bopped her head, made Conni laugh amusedly.Conni is the owner of this florist. She is a friendly and very kind woman. Aria had been working with her for a year now, and Conni treated her ve
Aria got back into the car after she finished buying some medicine by showing the doctor's prescription she had brought. She was relieved that grandma's medicine was not too late. Today she has received her salary. She smiled a little. In the car, Alexander just looked at her with unreadable gaze. Making Aria nervous."Thank you for driving me here." She smiled sincerely. Alexander was still looking at her with those black eyes that Aria thought were beautiful but very intimidating. For a few seconds of silence, Alexander just looked at her without responding. Then he moved closer, immediately making Aria freeze on her seat. What will he do? Her eyes widened as she saw him getting closer without looking away.Alexander leaned even more closer, their faces only inches apart. Aria could smell the masculine fragrance from his breath. It turned out that Alexander reached behind her to take her seatbelt and fasten it safely for her.“Hm.” He nodded in a deep voice. He leaned back in his se
Are you home late today?Aria smiled when she saw the message Alex sent her. She touched her phone screen and smiled. This man always sent her the same message every day. As if he really cared. One week passed. Alex had taken her home twice when she worked late at night. That guy is weird. He didn't talk much, very cold and silent. But Aria actually liked to talk to him.“Where do you work? Is it around here?” She asked him in the car. Alex came to pick her up again today.“Yes.”"What is it? A Store? Ey, a handsome and rich man like you, must be the one who owns the store, right?" Aria laughed amusedly."I am handsome?"“Only people with eye problems say you are ugly.” Aria laughed again."You know what, I’m thankful. But there's no need to ride me home every time I come home late. Aren't you busy? I can take the bus.” She said.Alex didn't respond at all. However, Aria didn't feel that this man was at all bothered by her chatter. He just focused on driving and his eyes occasionally
Aria, with a bright and happy smile, came down the stairs of her apartment. The building where she lives is on the third floor. And Aria can go down from the balcony which has an access ladder, down to the side of the building, next to the road.Alexander. The tall, handsome, bulky man, leaned against his car with a long black coat wrapped around his body.Aria looked up at him, "Do you often hear people say that you are really tall?"She giggled and Alex chuckled. He looked at her at some moment and frowned a little."Sorry, I look like a mess." She combed her still-wet hair, smiling with her slightly tinted cheek. Aria wore her favorite pajamas tonight. She felt cold but still not too cold.“You smell good.”The sentence that came out of Alex's mouth made Aria's face immediately turn even redder."I just took a shower, hehe..." Aria smiled broadly, embarrassed."You brought my little notebook?" Aria quickly changed the topic. Why did she decide to go out like this? Very embarrassing
Aria smiled broadly when she saw the man who had always accompanied her lately, walking into the Florist where she worked. And to answer Conni's curiosity, of course Aria introduced her friend to her boss politely.“Conni, this is my friend, Alexander. And Alexander, this is Conni, the loveliest Florist owner ever!" Aria giggled, introduced Conni who looked stiff where she was standing."We met two months ago but he only told me his true identity last night."Conni, who was already pale with fear, smiled slightly at her. "I-Identity?" Conni asked in a squeaky voice. She could barely made her voice out."Identity card!" Aria laughed. "And even though he is old, I don't think that will hinder our friendship." She laughed again. Alexander didn’t change his stare on Aria who now looked very happy when she said that, with his flat gaze."Ah, I see..." Conni tried to look as normal as possible, but she failed right when Alex turned his gaze on her.How could she keep her body from shaking u
“I'll be out of town, tomorrow..”Aria turned her gaze back at him, he had also been staring at her for a long time, trying to read what the beautiful girl in front of him was thinking about."How long?" She asked briefly. For some reason, Aria felt that she would be very lonely if Alex wasn't here anymore. But she won't admit it.Aria was confused about her feelings. Isn't she used to being lonely? Then why did it become more pronounced when she got to know this big guy?"One week." He finally answered her.Her eyes widened slightly. In the next week, she won't meet him like this."After a week, will we go to this cafe again?" Aria asked innocently, blinking her eyes at him rapidly.Alex smirked and nodded his head once. She looked adorable in every way.“You must be very busy. Was your boss the one who sent you out of town?” She asked.Alex stared at her without blinking for a few seconds. That smirk stayed on his handsome face. It amused him that she still didn't have any clue who
“Aria?”Conni shook her shoulder because she looked so lost in her thought in front of the cashier. Aria, who was shocked, immediately apologized.“I am so sorry, I didn't hear what you said, what's that again?”Conni took a deep breath and pursed her lips. This girl, who is usually cheerful and always talks a lot, now became silent and looked gloomy."What is it? Are you in trouble?” Conni asked and sat on the chair next to her.Aria widened her eyes a little and immediately shook her head. She laughed awkwardly.“Eh?What problem? Everything is fine, don't worry. Hehe..." She immediately wrote something in her little book to distract Conni.Of course, Conni wasn't fooled by that, she was even more curious. Because Aria is not that quiet type. Since she knew her more than a year ago. Conni always saw her smile sweetly, spoke cheerfully, and could always change the atmosphere to be more colorful. Even though she was tired, Aria always tried to liven up the atmosphere around her. She is
Aria leaned her head against the bus window and watched outside where the city view passed her eyes. She was still hugging the two boxes of lunch that Conni gave her.Now her eyes were looking aimlessly. Her mind drifted to where she was going.A place where she once called home. After all this time she ignored it, but now, she paid her little attention to it. That the face of this one person who had abandoned her were everywhere. Banners, billboards, even tall buildings with huge banners on it. Every single one of them with the words, ‘To The Better Future, with Mayor Wellbert’.A bitter chuckle slipped out of her throat. Yes, he is indeed an honorable person. Would he at least look at her? Again, at least, she tried.Aria arrived in front of a very tall and large gate an hour later. It was brown with beautiful snaking carvings that she didn't even understand what was the meaning behind it. One thing for sure, this was majestic gate was the entrance to the luxury house.Aria's tremb

“Himaa!!!” Saoirse screamed in excitement when she saw her beloved pet sitting casually under the stairs.“Himaa!! I miss you, Mommy and Daddy said you could come with us wherever we go now!.” She hugged the big cat's neck tightly.Aria's attention was now diverted to her daughter who was hugging a large, white-striped tiger, that sat lazily on the floor. Saoirse looked so small compared to her pet.Alex found the tiger roaming alone in the forest just behind the mansion when she was only as size as a regular cat. Baby Hima was lost and parted from her family. Turned out that her mother died from a gunshot wound. Alex guessed that they were running from illegal hunters and ended up on his property. He took her home and immediately became the star of their attention. After just hours Alex brought her home, and Aria gave birth to Saoirse.Noah named her Hima, and she became more like a sister to them than a pet. Saoirse often did her makeup and put some cute ribbon on her, and Hima woul
“Why don’t we go back to the mansion and live there? We can play with Nana and I miss Hima...”A five-year-old girl, with chubby, blushing cheeks, said with a pout while folding her arms across her chest. Her eyes were squinted because of the glare of the hot sun shining on the seawater, her small red lips pouted making her even more adorable. Her older brother, who was five years older than her, pinched her cheeks.“Don’t you like the beach?” He asked his little sis who suddenly sat down beside him after playing sandcastle not far from the sunbed where her big brother was.“Hmp! I like it! But I miss Nana and Hima…” She started to sound like she was about to cry. Her brother tried to comfort him, even though it was the hardest thing for him to do because Noah wasn’t an expressive person, just like his father.“Saoirse, you know Nana is very old and it is impossible for her to travel far.” He said softly while stroking his sister’s long, soft hair, “How about I tell Mom to bring Hima
When they reached the third floor of the building, the first thing Aria saw was a hallway with purplish lighting that seemed to be dimmed. This floor was much quieter although she could still hear the sound of music from the rooms that lined each side of the hallway. She and Alex entered one of the rooms. Inside, Aria was thankful that the music wasn't deafening. Instead, it was just the soft strains of the instruments that made her quite relieved. The room was bright and quite spacious. Soft velvet sofas surrounded the sides of the room and teak tables were in front of them. From the design, this was clearly for special guests because all the furniture was luxurious and expensive.“Master Grissham! My Lady!”A man with a beautiful woman quickly stood up and bowed to them. Aria rolled her eyes when she saw how messed up the woman’s dress was. She could almost see her nipples behind that dress. It seemed that they just did naughty things before she and Alex came in.Aria looked at Alex
Alexander wrapped his hands around his wife's waist and gently rubbed her. He sat her down on his lap, facing him, with both of her legs beside his. He licked and sucked her lips, domineering her in this kiss. Telling her how much he wanted her now.Aria, being so little in his arms, felt breathless. She tried to push him away but she was nothing compared to his strength.“Alex…hmmpph!” Aria hit his chest lightly, telling the big, burly man to let go, she couldn’t breathe anymore. When Alex finally parted their lips, he didn’t completely let her go. His lips moved to her chin and neck, kissing her soft skin, repeatedly squeezing her buttocks gently, caressing every inch of her he could reach.“Hh.. Alex… not here…” Aria held back his naughty muscular hand, but her husband’s strength was beyond her control.Alex seemed not to hear her, he remained like a hungry beast. When his hand had reached the inside of her thighs and was stroking what was between them, Aria firmly pushed his hand
“I thought he was just…sick…” Aria whispered to her husband beside her. They had now arrived at a mental hospital in the city. Aria stared at the man sitting across them with frown eyebrows. He seemed to be sorting and checking imaginary documents in front of him.“Hmm… this is okay, it could be our project for next year…” He muttered seriously, opening the invisible pages in his hands.“This is also good, but it needs improvement. I also need to know how much the budget is…” He continued, still with a serious expression.Giovanni sat like he was working like usual, wearing a patient's uniform and a pair of toy glasses that a nurse had given him. He asked her for a pair of glasses and said he couldn't work without them.Apparently, Giovanni thought the nurse was his personal assistant.“Sir, Madam, he is not communicative. He will continue to be like this until it is his time to sleep,” said a nurse who accompanied them in the visiting room.Aria looks at Giovanni Wellbert, the former
Aria, Alexander, and Grandma sat at the dining table in the main dining room of the Grissham Mansion. Even though there were only the three of them, but the room was full of warmth. Alex's cold and intimidating aura was defeated by the warmth that Aria brought to the house. He is a man with an intimidating aura, his tall figure, and bulky, tatted body could make anyone scared. But when it comes to his wife, he could only obey her.Like right now. He had to be home in time because Aria had already cooked for dinner.Alexander certainly didn't want to miss out on his wife's cooking.“Here, eat it, I planted it, especially for your herbal medicine.” Grandma took a single, green leaf from a bowl that Aria had noticed since earlier. She was confused earlier because she didn’t cook that one. Aria immediately frowned when she recognized it.“Grandma….” She immediately complained.“It’s been boiled and given a little spice, it won’t be too bitter.”Aria doubted which papaya leaves were not bi
With his head leaning on the couch, Alexander stared at the high ceiling. In his mind, he saw his mother's sunken face, she looked exhausted and weak. Even though on her body there were no more bruises and wounds like back then, but her weak and sad gaze made him worried. She was sick. And he had to take her away from there. He took a deep breath before continuing, “Those missions, all my work facing the dangerous and tricky situation made me stronger. One day I completed a dangerous mission and the reward was a big deal. After almost seven years I became a slave for my father and tried to get the old Grissham's recognition so that they would treat me and my mother well. I finally gave up. I returned with victory and hoped that my mother and I could go far away from that hell. Starting a new life, a normal one….”But Aria could already guess that what Alex had planned at that time did not go as expected. And she was hardly ready to hear the rest.“I came home after almost three weeks
This time, Aria was silent and Alexander was the one who spoke. Although sometimes there was a pause for a few seconds, Aria patiently waited for her husband to tell the story of his past and family. She understood that Alexander was not as fluent as she was when telling a story. It's just the way he is, Aria thought. Because Alex was a man with a few words and now tried to tell and explain to her about the wounds that he actually wanted to keep hidden forever. They were still in the VVIP room in the hospital. Aria had changed her clothes, she was wearing a short, peach skirt and a simple oversized shirt with the same color as her white shoes. She liked her outfit today and people wouldn't believe her if she said that Alex was the one who chose it for her.Meanwhile, her husband was wearing his signature black t-shirt and trousers. She sat sideways on Alex's thighs, and his husband's hand kept stroking hers. He looked troubled in the first minutes. He opened his mouth but then closed
