I thought I had seen it all until Tabitha took her own life.

My wolf ached with every beat of my heart. My body shook as I cried angry tears. I had put all my hope in her. I had depended on her to be the one who would change everything. She had been the only card I had to play but she turned the tables around by killing herself.

"Why would she decide to take the truth to her grave?" I asked in a voice that was beyond broken and angry. I looked up and glared at her hanging body. We were too frozen to bring her down. It was pointless since she was long gone.

There was no response from Kael who was still looking down at the note that Tabitha had left. There was a confused expression on his face.

"I don't understand," he blurted out loud.

I spared him a glance and held my tears back. "What are you trying to understand?" I asked him in a pained voice.

He looked away from the note for the first time and met his eyes with mine. "How big is this truth that she's willing to die for it?"
