She finished her shower and dressed in a pair of black leggings and a grey tank top. She pulled her hair up in a high pony-tail and walked down to Myra and Jillian who rushed her out of the house.
Justin was driving since Will and Ethan didn’t like them going out alone, even if it was still on pack lands. Normally Jordyn was fine being escorted out shopping, but Justin had a few too many drinks about a week ago and made a ton of advances on her, begging her to choose him as a mate. It didn’t bother her much, but it definitely made the whole trip awkward.
The sun was already close to retreating back into its hiding spot, probably about three more hours before the sun started setting behind the mountain. Jordyn could smell the barbecues firing up for dinner and she knew that the pack was serious about celebrating her Alpha ceremony for the entire weekend. She carried her shopping bags up to her room and just tossed them in the closet, hearing Ethan come through their mindlink.
‘Alpha, Will and I took care of all your paperwork and made sure that the rest of the coronation is ready for tomorrow.’
‘Thanks Ethan. I’m going for a run.’
‘Alpha, we still haven’t found those other wolves yet.’
‘I’ll stay in pack territory.’
‘I’ll let the patrol know.’
Jordyn closed the mindlink and walked back down the stairs, faking a smile to Jillian and Myra. “I’m going for a run.”
“It’s girls night.” Myra protested.
“I’ll be back before the barbecue and we can watch movies until we all pass out, I just need to go for a run, I won’t be long.” Jordyn promised as she took her clothes off, shifting quickly.
She ran out the back door until she got to the river that separated her pack lands from blue river’s. She laid down just staring at the river as she usually did, contemplating if she should just choose Justin as a mate.
Her pack would definitely benefit from her having a mate and a male to help lead the pack, but she had never thought about choosing a mate, she always just figured she was meant to be alone after Sebastian’s rejection. Justin wasn’t unattractive, he was tall, muscular, with dirty-dishwater blond hair and a tan that almost never faded. Most females would be happy to be with him, but she never thought of him as more than part of the family,, and she had never thought of just choosing a mate. As the sky darkened a shade and the clouds had started to change to that golden color they usually do, she realized that she needed to get back. As she stood she caught a heavy scent of pine and was quickly startled by a low growl.
Jayce left his packhouse early the day before the invitation to the eclipse pack’s alpha’s inauguration. He had some business that he had to settle with the new alpha since they had been having a rogue problem and their treaties were almost up. He figured if he showed up early he could get the matters taken care of before the ceremony and just enjoy the celebration. He mindlinked his beta. ‘David, I’m leaving now, keep an eye out for the pack and I’ll see you tomorrow at the celebration.’ ‘Alpha, are you sure you want to go alone, why not take Stephanie?’ David answered back. ‘I need to get away from that woman.’ Jayce snarled. ‘She brought up getting married again, didn’t she?’ ‘Why can’t she be like any other she-wolf
“The alpha said you can shower and get settled in, the alpha will meet you in thirty minutes.” she stated.Jayce smiled at her as she closed the door, then he walked to the ensuite bathroom and showered quickly, wondering how he was going to approach the alpha about his mate. He was ecstatic that he finally found her, but he knew some alphas were hard to let a pack member go. He washed his hair and body quickly, wondering how that conversation was going to go. He dressed quickly, consumed with his thoughts of the beautiful woman he met by the river. He dressed nicely, knowing that the alpha of the pack was going to have questions about him taking one of the pack members. He wore a navy blue button up shirt and a nice pair of dark blue jeans, he brushed his teeth quickly and hoped that his mate was there when he met with the alpha. He was led to the
Jordyn straightened her clothes, intently staring at the door. She couldn’t believe that Jayce just left her like that.‘What the hell was that?’ Silver whined. ‘Why didn’t you ask him to stay?’‘It’s not like any of us know what we are doing.’ Vivian remarked.‘I do, it’s instinct.’ Silver complained.‘I don’t get it, is there something wrong with me?’ Jordyn interrupted their bickering.‘There’s nothing wrong with us.’ Vivian comforted. A red glow appeared around where Vivian’s voice came from, although it was just a glowy silhouette of Jordyn.‘Uh, Viv, what&r
‘Alpha Jayce.’ the mindlink came through.‘Not now David.’‘It has to be now. It’s urgent.’He grunted and thought about ignoring the call for a few minutes but when he looked at her, her eyes were still distant and she was so beautiful and perfect that he would never be able to forgive himself if he rushed their first time together. “You too?”“Me too… We could just.” Her voice was still filled with a thick passion.“I want to take my time with you, you’re not just some random she-wolf I’m fucking for the fun of it.”“You’ve been with others?” The passion was gone fr
Jordyn woke up, almost blinded by the halogenic lights they use in the hospital. Machines were beeping close by her, which just confirmed where she was. Jayce’s hand covered hers. “What happened?” Her voice was weak and barely sounded like her.“I think we met Vivian.” Jillian answered as she walked into view.“What?” She questioned, glancing between Jayce and Jillian. Jayce nodded his answer. “Where’s Myra? I don’t have time to be stuck here.”“I’m right here.” Myra answered as she quietly shut the room door. She was wearing a white lab coat and dark blue scrubs underneath. “Alpha, now that you are awake we have no reason to keep you, we will release you, but we still have no clue as to why you even passed out in the first pla
She glanced around the room but when she couldn’t see Jayce anywhere, she headed up to the office, to her office. She wasn’t surprised to see that all the council members were there. Myra and Marilyn Wood both stood there. Will and Ethan followed her into the room.“My dear, they need to leave.” Jason stated, his ashy-brown hair almost covering his eyebrows completely.“No!” Jordyn raised her voice causing everyone in the room to flinch. “They are family, just like everyone else in this room.”‘Jordyn, I’m scared.’ Vivian’s voice echoed in her head.‘Everything will be alright, I’m sure.’ Silver comforted her.“What is wrong with m
“They are called hunters, sent by Hades himself.” Everyone turned their heads quickly to look at Jordyn as she spoke. “Who was jealous because he can’t reproduce the way we do, he just gets to make more vampires and hellish demons like cerberus. Isn’t that right grandfather?” Her words even felt venomous.“They didn’t want the pack, they weren’t just rogues that happened to kill my parents, they were after me, my mother, and my brother, we were the only ones they were after.”“Yes, being the god of the underworld, he doesn’t have to listen to the rest of them. He gave a few ruthless wolves a second chance so that they would track down and kill anything that even smelled a little like a god.”“So, wait, if I am a descendant of a god too why don’t I have a second voice?
Realizing that he and Marilyn were the only two left in the room he gave her a kind smile and held out his arm for her. “Ma’am, would you like an escort back down to the celebration?”She smiled back as she took his arm. “You’ll make a great mate.” He smiled as he led her out of the room and downstairs, back to the loud music and chattering in the hall. He excused himself from Marilyn as he caught Jordyn’s eyes as she was talking to Jade, both of them staring daggers at Leon as he left.“Jade, do you mind if I steal a dance from my mate?” Jayce asked as he held his hand out to Jordyn.“Go for it.” Jade answered as she sipped from what looked like a glass of champagne.Jordyn looked into Jayce’s eyes
“Well from what Leon has been telling me, it sounds like her wolf is just healing. With the amount of wolfsbane and silver that could have been put in her system, I don’t really know how long her wolf could be dormant.” Dianara started. “She is an alpha wolf, so I don’t know why it’s been so long already. All we can hope for is that she comes out when Jordyn needs her most. I don’t sense any magic on her, and I don’t know of any magic that could take her wolf from her. Time is the best advice I can offer. She is still there, she is just sleeping.”“How do we wake her up?” Jayce asked.“Your wolf would know that better than me.” She returned. “Mates tend to know more about what one another needs more than just anybody would.”“So no help?” Jayce returned sarcastically.“Ask your wolf, young pup. He will know the answer, He can probably still reach her as their connection is on a spiritual level also. I feel like the wolf in question is already waking from her slumber.” Dianara didn’t
Jordyn woke up to a mindlink from Jake. ‘Leon is ready for you.’ She was a little annoyed at the abrupt awakening, but knew it came with being Alpha, even if she just wanted to sleep in a little while longer. ‘He wants us all to have breakfast with him.’‘Fine, we will be down in a few minutes.’ She linked him back then turned over to wake Jayce up.She felt guilty waking him, she knew he hadn’t slept well last night, she could feel him tossing and turning all night long, but she didn’t want to do this without him. She knew all the information was important and she was still a little nervous about being with a witch. She smiled and kissed his lips softly before gently shaking him. When his eyes came open, she was slightly startled as he pulled her into his arms and against his body. “Jayce, we need to go meet Leon.”“He can wait a few minutes.” He answered as he pulled the comforter over her.“Jayce, this is important.” Jordyn argued.‘Ugh.” He grunted before finally letting her go a
“I didn’t mean to do that Jake, I really didn’t. Just the things Vivian showed us are worse than we could imagine.” Jayce answered. “I don’t want to risk her going through that again.”“I understand that, but Jordyn is also an Alpha Wolf, with or without her wolf, she will not take orders well at all. Of course, that pissed her off, you’ll be lucky if she doesn’t have a witch on her way already.” Jake returned. “She’s confused right now; she came to apologize to you and you had to be domineering. Now pack your crap and let’s go back to the eclipse pack, so you can apologize to her now.”Jayce raised an eyebrow. “You are aware that I’m an alpha right?”“Yeah, but I’m wolf council and probably about as dominant, if not more.”Jayce shook his head and gave an entertained smile. “Alright.” He said as he made his way to his bedroom and started packing a few of the things he would need and some of the paperwork he had to go through. “David you’re in charge here, Josh I need you to work on y
Jordyn hadn’t meant for the question to come out, but it was too late now. She could tell from the way that Jayce was staring at her that he knew what was going on now, and so did the other wolves that were standing there. Why did she have to ask? Now they were going to take her as a weak female and she didn’t want Jayce’s brother thinking that from the beginning. Part of her wished she could just run back up to Jayce’s office and hide from the lingering pity-filled eyes. She cleared her throat, hoping to get an answer instead of the awed stares. “No.” Josh answered. “Not that I remember anyways, I was unconscious though but when I first woke up, Blaze was kind of in a fury. I wouldn’t say that it didn’t mess with him, but he was still there.” Jayce wrapped an arm around her waist then pulled her against him. “Love, I think we should go talk in my office where it’s more private.” Jayce said as he started to lead her toward the door. “There are some people that would love that kind o
“No I’m not dad.” She gave him a scowl before turning her gaze back on Jordyn and Jayce. “Reject her, or I’m leaving. I’ve already met your worthless pack and there is nothing worth my time there.”“Then leave, go rogue if you must, or find another pack to take care of your high maintenance.” Jordyn didn’t even look like she took her seriously. “I wish you wouldn’t, but I’m not going to stop you, you’re not my pack, but maybe when you come crawling back you’ll see that this is about more than you being jealous.”Jayce and David along with a lot of the other members of the pack had to hold back their snickers as Stephanie stormed out, huffing with rage and embarrassment at Jordyn’s statement. “I’ll leave my cell number for anyone that needs to get in touch with me before the packs are officially merged, until then we will get something set up for the two packs to meet each other.” She offered.“This will conclude this pack meeting, if you have any questions feel free to talk to me or
Jayce walked through his meeting hall, watching all the pack members' eyes follow him up with Will walking behind him. He still hadn’t quite figured out what he was going to say to a tee, but he was pretty good at speaking on the spot. He walked up to the podium and cleared his throat, figuring out where to start. “First off I must apologize for my absence this last week and a half. As all of you know I found my mate, she is the Alpha of the eclipse pack. She was kidnapped the day after her inauguration, so I spent my time searching for her while David took care of pack matters.” He drew in a deep breath as he nodded at David in appreciation. “We found her, but she was not in good shape, so all in all we need to be on high alert. The person that kidnapped her was using a mixture of wolfsbane and silver to keep her in his control. We need to increase security, especially at night.”Steve, who was his Kappa, was the first to stand up. “Why don’t we take both our packs patrols and just m
“Not necessarily.” Myra interrupted. “It depends on how much he gave you, it would explain why it affected Silver and not Vivian. It also explains the freezing, the blue skin tone, the vomiting, and why the burns on your wrists are so bad. You weren’t just being burnt from the outside, you were being burnt from the inside too.”“Plus if she’s healing her insides it would explain why she’s healing so slowly on the outside, Silver knows what’s more important to heal so she’s focusing on the inside.” Jade added.Jordyn glanced away. “Silver is gone guys, I can’t reach her and when I was running in the woods it felt like I was being forced to change back.”They all stared at her in silence, Myra still seemed hurt to hear it again even th
“Jordyn, what the hell was that?” Myra snapped with her hands on her hips. “He was just trying to help you and comfort you..” “Myra, I can’t feel Silver anymore. I think she’s gone.” Jordyn admitted as she sat up, pulling her knees into her chest and wrapping her arms around them. “When I broke free I shifted and ran, but I couldn’t talk to Silver at all, then without me wanting too I shifted back to human. I was cold, naked, and defenseless, trying to hide under a tree. I couldn’t run as fast as usual and I felt really weak.” “Jordyn, that’s terrible.” Myra rushed over to the bed and gave her a comforting hug. “It could just be a side effect of the wolfsbane.” “Silver has never left me before Myra, she’s always been there, even when she’s mad.” Jordyn stated. “What if he took her from me forever?”
Jayce tried his hardest not to let Shadow take over and keep himself from losing what little food he had eaten. He looked over at Myra who had tears streaming down her face and her hand covering her face. Even the nurses who were halfway out of the room seemed disturbed. “Did you see that too?” They all nodded without saying a word. He glanced over at Jordyn who’s eyes were starting to fade back to her violet colored eyes. He tried to get up to rush over and keep her from collapsing, but she didn’t. She just curled back up on the bed and covered herself up. Jayce could see her shivering again, and apparently so could Myra. “Go get her a warm blanket and some hot cocoa, made with coconut milk instead of whole milk. It needs to be light on her stomach.” She ordered the nurses who had no problem leaving the room. “Clock out once you’re done and go home, do
