CHAPTER 4: INNOCENT VIRGIN

Via

Cheer practice went well, and we got a lot more members, which is great. I really needed this to go well for me.

"V, let's go!" Kol calls from outside the girls' locker room, sounding impatient as he paces back and forth.

"Coming!" I shout back, rushing to finish changing and quickly pulling on my shoes.

I walk out of the girls' locker room with my backpack and duffle bag in hand, feeling relieved to be done.

"How was school?" Kol asks, looking curious as we walk to his car.

"Good and bad. Which do you want to hear first?" I say, throwing my stuff into the trunk of his truck with a sigh.

"Bad. How bad can it be?" he chuckles, tossing his own stuff into the truck and glancing at me with a smirk.

"Mr. Montgomery and Mr. Beaumont said the work I've turned in this week is so bad that if I keep it up, I'm going to fail their classes." I buckle my seatbelt with a frown, feeling a knot in my stomach.

"Well, you might need to start thinking about adult school," Kol says, smirking as he puts on his seatbelt and starts the truck.

I slap his arm lightly, and he glares at me. "Jerk."

"I was only kidding, V," he says, pulling out of the school parking lot with a grin. "What solution did they give you? They had to offer something."

"Yeah, they did," I say, turning on the radio with a sigh. "A tutor."

"Did you say yes?" he asks, glancing at me as we drive onto the freeway.

"I said no and that I'd handle things myself," I say, changing the radio station, feeling a bit defensive.

"Are you serious?" Kol says, turning off the radio, looking shocked. "You mean to tell me they offered you a FREE tutor and you turned it down!?"

"Well, now that you say it that way, I feel stupid," I say, biting my bottom lip and feeling embarrassed.

"You should feel stupid, V. What were you thinking?" he says, shaking his head as we get off the freeway.

"I guess I wasn't thinking straight," I say, looking out the window, feeling ashamed. "I guess I panicked when I saw him. Since I ran into him in the library, I got embarrassed."

"Yeah, because that's a good reason to turn down help," Kol says sarcastically, and I try to change the subject.

"Where are we going?" I ask, genuinely confused, looking at him with wide eyes.

"No, you weren't thinking at all, Via," Kol says, rolling his eyes as we pull into a sex shop. "I need to get something real quick. Don't judge me."

I quietly laugh, and he glares at me before getting out of the car, making me stifle my giggles.

Maybe things with him and my brother are finally going well? I don't want to think about it, but I'm happy for Kol.

After waiting for ten minutes, he comes out with a black bag.

"Are you done now? You horny mother—" I say teasingly, as Kol throws me something, and I catch it, startled.

"You need that, you naive virgin." He starts the car with a grin. "You need some real thrill in your life." He drives out of the parking lot and back onto the expressway, chuckling.

Feeling confused, I glance down at the object and ask, "I don't need whatever this is. What exactly is this thing?"

"A vibrator," Kol smirks as we get off the freeway. "Who doesn't know what a vibrator is?" He laughs loudly.

I'm a virgin who doesn't masturbate. Of course, I don't know what a vibrator is.

I shoot it back at him, irritated, and say, "Obviously me. Now, return it."

He hands it back to me, still laughing. "No returns, V. It's yours."

I groan and roll my eyes. "Whatever." I leave the vibrator on my lap as Kol pulls into my driveway. "Go get him," I wink at Kol, and he laughs.

"You know I will." He laughs as we both get out of his truck.

I hurriedly take hold of the vibrator and tuck it into my bag. I enter my house carrying my backpack and duffle bag.

"Don't be loud, I need to sleep," I yell, frustrated, hearing a door shut. "Assholes."

"You know they won't be quiet, and we won't be able to sleep," I hear Dean say from the kitchen, and I laugh.

I roll my eyes and say, "Of course they won't. They love to have argumentative sex. In any case, why are you here?"

"Rosalie said she needed space," Dean says, looking down at the plate of food in front of him, sounding hurt. "After I proposed to her."

I drop my things and hug him from behind, feeling sorry for him. "I'm sorry."

Dean shakes his head. "It's alright; we'll figure it out." He takes a sip of his beer and seems determined. "I love her so much, and I'm not going to give up." Dean stands up and goes out of the house.

I hope he doesn't lose his mind and blame himself for something he thought was going well.

I hurry up to my room and get my laptop. I shower and change into more comfortable clothing. Following that, I began working on my essay for Mr. Beaumont's class.

...

I hear Kol yell, "V! Get out here," and I jump, rolling off the bed.

"Fuck, I fell asleep," I mumble to myself as I quickly put on slippers and head outside.

The minute I open the door, I see people everywhere around my house.

I scowl at Kol, irritated. "You're holding a party?" He laughs.

"Yeah, it was Chris's idea; we got back together today." He looks down at my clothes in surprise. "Did you not hear the music? What the fuck are you wearing?"

"No, I was doing homework with AirPods in and fell asleep." I look down at my clothes, embarrassed. "I'll be back. Let me change."

"I'll meet you in the backyard." Kol disappears into the party.

I rush to my room and put on jean shorts and a white long-sleeve crop top. The crop top is a bit revealing, but not too much.

I hurriedly exit my room and lock it behind me. "I definitely do not want anyone having drunk sex in my room," I murmur as I walk to the garden, feeling protective of my space.

"Via, you finally showed up," Stephanie says, her words slurring slightly, and I can tell she's already really drunk.

"Yeah, here I am." I do a little twirl, trying to play it cool. "How can I miss a party happening in my own house?" I laugh nervously.

"Shots, girl," Aiden tells me as I turn around. "I've come to accept your offer." He smirks, his eyes amused. "Are you going to let me?" Damn, I didn't think things through. I look at Aiden, and his friend gives me a shot.

I didn't think this through at all, feeling a surge of uncertainty.
