Third POV

Emelia was admitted to a hospital. Ashton was by her side. Though he wasn’t allowed into the examination room, he still refused to leave the hospital. He was seated outside the ward, waiting for the doctor's summons, when Winter and Emmett arrived.

“How is she?” Winter asked worriedly. He had just received news of her rescue and immediately came to the hospital.

Ashton glanced at him from the corner of his eyes. “Alive. Still waiting for feedback.”

“And how long will that take?” Winter asked.

“Does it look like I have a medical degree?”

Winter and Emmett exchanged looks but didn’t say anything. It was clear Ashton wasn’t himself. They all sat in the lounge, waiting impatiently for the doctor to finish his examination. After what felt like hours, the older man, dressed in a white lab coat, finally made an appearance.
