Chapter 317

Out of the corner of his eye, Caleb inadvertently glanced at the bathroom. He swiftly pulled the thin blanket off the bed and wrapped Penelope up like a burrito.

He harshly lifted Penelope who was wrapped in the blanket and threw her right into the bathtub.

He then turned on the water and set it to the lowest temperature before pouring it directly on Penelope's face.

Just then, there were rapid knocks on the door all of a sudden. Along with the knocks, he seemed to hear Ember's voice.

Caleb was instantly frozen and his bloodshot eyes flashed. After seeing Penelope lying immobilized in the bathtub, he strode towards the door.

"Em, is that you?"

Caleb disregarded his usual calm image and shouted towards the door at the top of his voice.

Ember was banging on the door, trying to attract the attention of the occupants inside the room and confirm Caleb's presence.
