Seraphine decided to go to the second brother of Alpha King Alaric. Alpha Carlson, the leader of the Bluemoon pack. She and her allies snuck out of the Redmoon pack and started their journey, heading north through the mountains. It was a steep run, but they had to move fast in order to gain ground before Alpha Daven realized they were gone. They put their clothes in their mouths and ran through the night in their wolf forms. Meanwhile, back in the Redmoon pack, About three hours after Seraphine and her pack members had escaped, the guards were still standing in front of the guest chambers. A pack omega approached them with a bucket of water in her hands. "Stop there, what do you want?" The first guard demanded. The young girl shivered visibly. "I_ I am here to check if the Luna, Her Highness wants a bath." she stuttered, obviously scared, her voice shaky. The guard looked with lust-filled eyes. "I wouldn’t mind if you took the bath for me instead," he said, smiling creepily. "I am und

As the fight went on, the number of rogues gradually reduced. Seraphine caught sight of Alpha Daven in an intense fight with one of the masked men. His hungry eyes were on her as he let out a low growl. Another one pulled Seraphine to the side. He had a gruff and somewhat familiar accent and a scent that she couldn't place at all. "Take your people and leave. We will take care of the rogues." Seraphine looked at him confused, "Who are you people ? And, why are you helping? " She didn't finish her question because at that moment, the masked man in front of her threw his dagger at a rogue coming up behind her. "Leave now!" He yelled and went back into the fight. Seraphine turned to the rest of the fight. Gareth was in the middle of fighting two strong but dirty wolves at the same time. He seemed to be holding his own against them, but it was very obvious he was already getting tired. Elara had shifted back to her wolf form, her gray wolf looking very inferior in size to the large rogue

  • Veil of the Bloodmoon    After the Wedding.

It has been three months since my marriage to Alpha King Alaric. Honestly, I would say we are still getting to know each other, there is just a lot to learn, but I enjoy every minute we spend together. Life in the Bloodmoon pack is completely different from how life is where I come from. I am still trying to adjust and get used to the reality of being the Luna of a pack, much less the Alpha queen of the whole kingdom. It always seems surreal whenever I think about it. I wonder how Alaric got used to this, but then I remember that he was literally born into royalty, so I guess being the Alpha is what he prepared for his whole life. One of my first roles as the Luna is getting to know the members of my pack. In the pack I came from, we all lived almost like humans. Usually, most people only change into their wolf forms during the full moon. I can barely remember what my father's wolf looked like. But it is the complete opposite here. The wolves here are more in tune and connected with t

  • Veil of the Bloodmoon    The Honeymoon.

Seraphine’s POV.After training, I went to the room Alaric and I shared in the west wing of the Palace. I didn't leave with Alaric as he was called for an urgent meeting with the pack elders and the council. I overhead them talking about something like strengthening pack defense. I still don't know much about pack politics, but I knew the pack elders look down on me because I am a woman. I walked into the bathroom and slipped into the warm embrace of the bath that the pack's omega had prepared for me. The water was very soothing and the fragrance from the herbs helped to calm me down and soothe my sore muscles. I leaned back, allowing the warmth of the water to envelop me. I heard the door creak open, and my heart fluttered with excitement. I opened my eyes to see my mate stepping into the room, a playful grin lightening his face and amusement dancing across his eyes. “My darling, do you care for some company?” he asked, his voice rich with warmth and affection. “Well, only if you pro

  • Veil of the Bloodmoon    Tough choice.

Present day.The next morning, everyone was up as soon as the first ray of sun pierced through the clouds. Seraphine had barely slept, she was torn between going to look for her sister and continuing their journey. Both were very important and time dependent, the life of all the members of her pack depended on it, but Elara was also her only sister, and she would rather die than let anything happen to her. Seraphine couldn't think of anyone that would have a personal vendetta against Elara. "She was definitely kidnapped by my enemies to get leverage over me", she thought. She couldn't help but feel guilty that if anything happened to her sister, it would be her fault. When the camp was packed and ready to go, they made sure they covered their tracks and any sign that they had been there, in order to make it difficult for anyone following them to predict their movements. Seraphine decided to split the traveling group into two. She looked around at everyone. Mike, one of the pack warrio

An omega led them through a hallway to their rooms. "Here we are, Luna," she said in a soft voice. "Thank you," Seraphine responded with a smile. Before she went in, she pulled Gareth to the side. "When you are done resting, I want you to survey the pack and see how things are done here. I don't want what happened in Redmoon pack to repeat itself." "Yes Luna, you can go in and rest. It's obvious you are tired. I will come with a report later." He replied, and she gave him a grateful smile in return. Seraphine stepped into the guest room, eager to get out of her clothes and take a bath. She felt a wave of warmth wash over her. The room was so inviting and filled with a rich scent of recently polished wood and a faint hint of lavender. Thick cream curtains draped over the windows, casting a soft glow in the room with the late afternoon light. In the corner stood a wooden bathtub with steam rising gently from the water that had been drawn just for her. Seraphine could already feel the te

  • Veil of the Bloodmoon    The proposal.

Seraphine's heart raced with anticipation. She hoped she would be able to convince Alpha Carlson as soon as possible. Moments later, she heard a voice telling her to come in and she opened the door. Alpha Carlson was seated on a couch in the office and Shaman Soraya sat on the couch opposite him. They seemed to be having a serious conversation. The Alpha's office looked more functional than luxurious, as opposed to the rest of the pack house. The walls were painted in a simple beige color, giving the room a neutral backdrop. A sturdy and unadorned wooden desk sat against one wall. It was covered with stacks of paperwork and a few scattered pens, suggesting that he had a busy schedule but lacking any personal touch. In one corner of the room, lay a desk with a chair behind it and two mismatched chairs in front of it. The table itself bore the marks of frequent use, with scratches and stains that gave an idea of how long it had been in use. On one side of the room, two couches sat facin

  • Veil of the Bloodmoon    The prophecy.

Out of everything Seraphine had expected her to say, a prophecy was the least of her expectations. "What are you talking about?" She asked. "It was foretold by the chief priestess of our pack a hundred years ago." Seraphine's brow furrowed. She had been curious to hear what Soraya had to say, but nothing had prepared her for this. "A prophecy? About me? That sounds... impossible." Soraya leaned forward, her silver hair catching the light, giving her an almost otherworldly appearance. "Not impossible, dear. It is written in the stars. A Luna will rise, one who will endure immense trials and tribulations, yet she will be the one to unite all the packs." Seraphine felt a chill run down her spine. "Luna? You mean... me?" "Yes, you, you are a beacon of hope to our people," Soraya replied, her eyes glinting with conviction. "You possess the strength and the spirit that was mentioned in the prophecy. You have been destined to bring unity and harmony to our world, but the journey will not be

  • Veil of the Bloodmoon    The weight of choices.

Seraphine retired to her room for the night, her mind racing with new discoveries and realizations. She had to make a decision that would ensure both her safety and that of her pack. The Bluemoon pack was being ruled by witches!. "How is that even possible?", she thought. As she entered the room, she closed the door quietly behind her and leaned against it with a sigh, closing her eyes. She missed the comfort of the room she had shared with Alaric back at Bloodmoon, but all that seemed like another lifetime now, she felt like she had aged a little in the past few days. The flickering light from the single candle on the nightstand painted her features in a mosaic of a shadow on the wall opposite her. She stared at her shadow for a long while and let out a deep breath trying to calm the storm brewing within her. Choosing Alpha Carlson as the Alpha King means joining forces with the witches and the Bluemoon pack. It means granting power to the witches, to the people who had been forced i

The women finally dispersed, Seraphine looked back at the gathering of the happy wolves. She got a series of subtle nods of respect and warm smiles from the people around her. A massive bonfire roared in the center of the clearing; its golden flames crackled, sending sparks dancing into the night. It reminded Seraphine of the late-night parties they used to have back at the pack where she was born. She leaned against a wooden barrel near a makeshift table piled high with food and jars of alcohol. A group of teenage wolves ran around the edge of the clearing as they played a game of tag. Their laughter was loud and carefree, making her smile. “It’s good to see them like this,” Soraya sat beside her, holding two wooden mugs. She looked more relaxed than Seraphine had seen her since she arrived and there was a rare smile on her face, but her eyes held a certain sadness in them. Seraphine was sure she had taken Carlson's death very badly. Seraphine nodded in appreciation when she handed h

  • Veil of the Bloodmoon    The calm before the storm.

By dawn, Soraya was completely healed. Seraphine and the other witches listened in horror as she told them what had transpired between her and Aldwin. "Why did you go by yourself? Do you have a death wish?" Seraphine admonished. "I have known him my whole life. I wanted to try and see if I could make him change his mind," Soraya said quietly. "Apparently, it didn’t turn out well," Seraphine scolded. "You could have died," she continued. "I know, but I couldn't just sit back and watch him kill innocent people. He killed the only man I have ever loved, and I let him get away with it. I won't let it happen again," Soraya said firmly. The night was thick with tension as the witches, Seraphine and her guards assembled outside Aldwin's house. The moon shone brightly in the sky, it was as if the moon goddess was with them. Seraphine exchanged a glance with Soraya. The woman had warned them of how powerful he was. "We are ready for anything," Seraphine said, her voice steady and unwavering. S

  • Veil of the Bloodmoon    Black Magic.

"What was that?" Seraphine asked urgently as she and Soraya walked into the room. Seraphine had seen the look of sheer horror on the older woman's face when she was looking at what had happened outside. "It is called mind grabbing," a voice interjected. Seraphine looked up to see an old woman walk into the room. "Amaya," Soraya gasped, going towards the woman and assisting her to a chair. The old woman was almost eighty years old, but she was still as agile as ever. She shot the witch a look as she attempted to assist her. She was the older sister to the woman that died this morning, and she was one of the oldest people in the pack. "What you saw is one of the most dangerous forms of black magic. It takes over the soul and mind of the person hexed, and their actions can be completely controlled by whoever is behind it." She continued. Seraphine shared a look with Soraya as they both came to the obvious conclusion. "It's Aldwin," Soraya said, her voice resigned. "We have to stop him. H

  • Veil of the Bloodmoon    An alliance.

With a sigh, Soraya took a seat opposite her. "This is going to take a while," she started. According to stories, during the purge when witches were being prosecuted, the world had presumed all witches to be corrupt. However, the problem was that the vast majority of witches then had started using dark magic, which fed on people's souls and rendered them heartless, and they killed people indiscriminately. That is what led to the misconception that all witches are wicked. And based on what I have known my whole life, all witches using dark magic have been killed, including my parents, until tonight." "What do you mean?" Seraphine asked. "When I was nineteen, I was kicked out of yet another pack. Alwin took me in when I was wandering around hungry and homeless. He took me under his wing and taught me almost everything I know." "Who is he? I would assume he is a witch too," Seraphine asked. Soraya was skeptical, growing silent for a moment. "How do I know if I can trust you with all this

The room was cool and shadowy, illuminated by multiple flickering candlelights. 'He' sat at the end of the room on what looked like his own personal throne. His eyes glinted with an almost unnatural intensity as he turned to face me. Seraphine held her breath as she leaped against the door that Soraya had just gone through. She had seen the older woman sitting all by herself looking sad and dejected, which came as a surprise to her. Before she could decide whether to approach her or not, Soraya had stood up and started looking around suspiciously. Seraphine had followed her when she took a mysterious turn to a passage that no one would have thought existed. She had almost given herself away when she stepped on a twig. She held her breath for what felt like hours before the woman continued. Seraphine couldn't get a glimpse into the room when Soraya entered. She leaned her ears against the door as she tried to hear what they were saying. "Soraya," 'he' said, his voice smooth and command

Later that evening at Casper's House, Casper watched a bit bored as his son paced around in his office. "Beta Theon is being stubborn. Can't we just get rid of him? He seems to have this sick idea that he will play Alpha for as long as he likes. Everyone should have started preparing for my coronation by now," he said, his frustration obvious. "No, we can't get rid of the Beta. If we do, the remaining elders will flock around the throne like flies," Casper said calmly. "He is being very difficult. How are we going to get him to work for us? What if the Queen returns? Let me go with a few men, and we will hunt her down and make sure she never does," he said, leaning over his father's table. "Everyone has a price. We just need to find the right thing one for Theon. He will work for us sooner or later," he said. "The little Queen is not going to return. Her little show of power was fun while it lasted. I have ordered men to discreetly kill her and anyone with her as soon as she tries to c

"The neighboring packs have stopped paying their respective tributes. We all know what could happen next. The werewolf kingdom needs a new Alpha King, and we need one now!" Another man yelled from the back, earning a lot of agreeing nods and murmurs from the rest. "What are you insinuating, Gerald? What do you mean, "we all know what could happen next" ?" Saleem, the leader of the eastern house, countered, walking forward. "How dare you insinuate treason in the Palace? The supremacy and power of the late King Alaric will never die," he continued, his face looking a bit red from his outburst. "Don't try to impress anyone with your fake and over-pronounced loyalty. We all know how selfish you are. " Whatever you say here can only be in your best interest," another man countered, making Saleem's face even redder. He wagged his hands in front of him at the offensive comment as he tried to get other words out, his face turning a sick shade of green. The sound of the main doors opening inte

"You do not have to kill her," I said nervously, my heart was beating so loudly that I was sure he could hear it. "You just have to make sure she doesn't return till after the coronation," I continued. "And then what?" He asked. "What will happen to her when she returns to the Palace? She won't just sit around and watch me rule, and I will have you know, I don't take it lightly when my authority is questioned," he said threateningly as he walked around me. "Well, you can make her submit," I stuttered. He was in my face in an instant, his hands gripping my jaw tightly. "That's not possible, I can't be the ultimate Alpha King if we have your sister going around with that little Luna power of hers. The permanent and only solution is that we kill her. Do you agree or not?!" He yelled. Trying my best not to shiver, I nodded and he released my face. "You can do with her what you please, as long as my conditions are met, we are good. We will rule the kingdom together," I said in a low voice,

Elara's POVOne of Alpha Daven's rogues carried me on his back till we got out of my sister's sight, then dropped me on the ground with a thud. I straightened my back to ease the pain. I didn't think Seraphine would realize I was gone so soon. These men were supposed to have taken me away before Seraphine managed to find out I was gone. I don't know why she had been hellbent on leaving Redmoon so quickly, she ruined all my plans, and now I had to think of a way out. ---------- A few hours earlier. I watched Seraphine as she turned to leave. She seemed to think everything that was happening was her fault. Well, technically, it was, if she had not insisted that we leave Redmoon in the middle of the night, we wouldn't have been attacked and no one would be so tired and injured. Grabbing the clothes she gave me, I walked to the back of the camp. After changing, I made a slow whistle and a black pigeon flew in and perched on my shoulder. Looking around to make sure there was no one looking
