Chapter 21
Lilly POV
I keep gasping for breath as I walked to the class like a zombie. What the heck! I can't believe that bastard made me run around the pitch for some stupid reasons known to him because I know the former coach is definitely not the one that asked him to. Gosh! I feel like I'm going to die anytime soon, I feel like I need oxygen.
Stepping into the class, thankfully I got to the class before him. As soon as I got in, I dragged my feet to my seat and sat comfortably. There's no way in hell I'm ever going to allow her to share a seat with me, he's an asshole. "Nina come on..." I beckoned on her to come over, and she looked around foolishly before dragging her feet to my seat. "Come have a seat." I dragged her to sit with me as soon as she got close, while she gave me a blank look. This girl is one hell of a dumb ass. "Lilly what's..." She made to talk, but I threw her a glaChapter 22Ruby POVIt's late already and I wonder why Nina isn't coming home. I've been trying to reach for like forever now, but her line hasn't been going through, and it's disturbing. I picked up my phone and dialed her number for the umpteenth time, but still got the same result, so I was forced to give up. Laying on the bed, I covered myself with the duvet after turning off all the lights as I tried to get some sleep, but heck! My eyes were as bright as sunshine, and I couldn't sleep.I kept tossing on the bed, almost in tears. I'm not used to sleeping alone, I've never done it before so I'm not used to it. Back at home, I always sleep beside mom, and from the first day in school here, I've been sleeping with Nina in the room and it feels comfortable.A sudden breeze blew in through the window, swaying the curtain violently and my heart skipped like a million times. Gosh! I forgot to close the window. I sprang up from the bed
Chapter 23Lilly POV I kept tossing on the bed till it was finally daybreak. Standing up from the bed, I dashed into the bathroom and had a quick bath, dressed up, and left the dorm. I need to go home and see my mom, I need to feed my curiosity, I don't know what I'm thinking, I need her to look into my eyes and tell me that my dad wasn't killed by vampires. Stepping out of the dorm, I took a cab to the bus stop, where I took a bus that was going to our place. I rested my head on the window, tears dripping from my eyes uncontrollably, just the thought of it gave me goosebumps. My dad was the best man any family can ever ask for, he loved us with everything in him, he'd do anything for us, and just one day, he left and never came back. When I saw the mark on dad's neck years ago, mom had told me that it was nothing, I grew up believing her, I can't imagine that she lied to me. After two hours of drive, the bus finally stopped and
Chapter 24She slowly took her gaze to her mom, giving her a questioning look, as she anticipated her reply. As much as she wanted to pray that her mom told her that it wasn't true, she knew that was the case. "Wh...what are you talking, Lilly?" She asked her, whispering the last part as her eyes brimmed with tears. Her heart thumping heavily against her chest, her fear has finally come true, what she had been trying to hide for years has finally been out. "Why did you lie to me about dad's death?" Lilly asked, as she finally took her gaze to look at her, her eyes demanding an answer. "Tha...that? I told you, Lilly, your dad...""Was killed by a vampire." She cut her off, and her eyes slowly narrowed, as her mouth dropped open. The atmosphere tensed up, as silence assumed the air, the two staring at each other like they were doing some staring contest. "Wh...who told you that?" She asked, and Lilly sp
Chapter 25Lilly POV I stopped abruptly on the spot, as I was welcomed by the least expected person, it was that jerk that threw my hairpin away, if you're still confused about who I'm talking about, then it's our new coach. Wait! How did he know about this place and why's he here? "Hello, aunt!" He smiled at mom like a gentleman he's not, while I just scoffed unbelievably. This dude is obviously losing his mind, and this whole thing is confusing, it's damn crazy. "Hello young man, I don't think I've seen your face before, how may I be of help, please?" Mom asked him, and I chipped in. "Mom..., go have some rest, I'll take it up from here." I said to mom, and she gave me an 'are you sure' look. I nodded, giving her an assuring smile and with that, she turned and walked back inside, while I stared at her till she was out of sight. I sighed softly and turned to glare at that jerk, who was still standing in front of t
Chapter 26"Here..." He said, holding out something, and taking my gaze to his hand, my eyes almost popped out of their sockets. Wait! Isn't that my hairpin? "Wh...isn't...""I'm cool, aren't I?" He asked, and I scoffed. I snatched it from him then opened the door and stormed out of the car. I wanted to thank him, but hell no! After all, he made me pass through because of this hairpin, I can't thank him again, not now and not forever. "Hey! Not even a thank you?" I heard him yell at me but I strode to the entrance door and entered the dorm, not sparing him another glance. He can stay there for all I care. I strode through the hallway, till I got to the front of our door and I pushed the door open before making my way in. Stepping into the room, I breathed out as I threw myself on the bed, a smile laced up my lips. Seeing my hairpin in my hand, I couldn't be any less happy. I remembered how I cried my eyes out when I lost it, and having it back now, makes me kind of happy. I know yo
Chapter 27Raising her gaze to check who she had just bashed into her eyes almost popped out of their sockets at the sight she beheld, it was Kai. She clenched her fist and gritted her teeth as waves of anger flashed through her. She couldn't believe that she had just lost her food to the bastard again. "You again?" She scoffed while pointing out her index finger at him and bit her lower lip, trying to control the waves of anger that sparked through her. Her eyes darted to her food that was now staining the beautiful and well-cleaned tiled floor, she closed her eyes tightly.Meanwhile, Kai stood rooted to the floor with his hands tucked into his pockets while staring at her blankly like nothing had happened. Is he being serious right now? "Are you mad, huh? You just made me lose my food, why the heck didn't you look where you were headed, huh? Why do I always have to bump into bastards?" She yelled angrily, glaring hard at him but what annoyed her more was the fact that he was just
Chapter 28The thought of the incident from earlier keeps replaying in his head and he just couldn't help the scoff that keeps teariing through his throat. He keeps wondering where the guts came from, he had been wondering where the girl came from, no one dares to do that and to think that the person doing this was just an ordinary human, keeps driving him crazy. Raising his gaze and staring deep into the mirror, his red eyes penetrated the mirror with anger written all over them. His breath thickened as it now came out in grunts, he was just trying so much to control his anger and he didn't know how long he'd be able to control himself. He closed his eyes briefly and threw his head back, trying to calm down. Of course, he knew what would happen if he happens to lose control of himself. He washed his face and changed his clothes before he finally left the restroom and straight to the exit door. Stepping out of the restaurant, he walked over to his car and drove out of the place afte
Chapter 29I thought my dear friend is useless, but turns out that she wasn't entirely useless. Nina told me about a job vacancy in a company, and I'm so going to apply for it. I learned that there's slot for part-time secretary and I'm so going for it. "Remember this, first impression counts most, so you have to do your best and impress them," Nina said for the umpteenth time, adjusting the collar of my shirt. Of course, I'm wearing something professional, a black skirt and a white polo shirt. Well, all thanks to Nina I have to dress like this. What would I have done when she was on my neck to dress like this, even after knowing that I'm not yet employed in the company. "You've said that like a million times already, and j always told you that I will remember that each time you had said that, so can I go already?" I asked frustratingly and she smiled, straightening my chin with her fingers. "One more thing," She excused herself and rushed to pick her body spray, almost emptying th
Chapter 30It's midnight and I'm still yet to fall asleep. A lot of things have been running through my mind and all effort to get some sleep have proven abortive. Even if I wanted to shut my mind out of all distractions and get some sleep, I couldn't do it as I always found my mind drifting off. For hours, I've been having the delusion that someone is watching me, I feel like I'm being watched by an unknown creature and I must confess that it's really driving me to the edge of craziness. Why would anyone watch me? It's late in the night and everyone should be asleep, right? Letting out a sigh for the umpteenth time, I sat up on the bed and glanced at Nina who was fast asleep on her bed, she slept so peacefully and I wished I could get a peaceful sleep like her too. The sudden violent wind from outside motioned the curtains violently and penetrating the room and I realized that the windows were left opened. Nina was the last person to sleep yesterday, she must have forgot to close th
