IRIS
"You piece of shît!" Bennett slammed my small body into a series of trash cans. Loads of dirt fell on me but he still didn't leave me. He grabbed me by the hair and dragged me to the house.
I knew I was done for. Bennett wasn't a merciful man. He abused his strength whenever it got to my case and tonight, it was either he killed me or I kill myself out of frustration.
I was bothered about what the outcome would be. The fact that Fenrir rejected me made me forget all my sorrows. It was as though I had become numb to the pain. The one way I thought I could exert my revenge on the people who treated me badly had just flashed before my eyes.
"He knew I was his mate," I muttered to myself. "All these while, he knew and yet, he didn't say anything."
I was pained, hurt, and broken. The thought of Lyra taking my place wounded my heart severely. The worst part? I had no friend to turn to. I was more or less a lone wolf.
"I'm going to treat you like the trash you are, Iris," Bennett growled. "You think you can embarrass my household and go scot-free? Did you really think that I'd let you take the prince from my daughter? You scumbag!" He yelled and pushed me to the ground. We had arrived at a cliff that indicated the ending of the community.
"He's my mate, not hers. He even said it himself." I yelled back. "Do whatever you wish, it doesn't change the fact that your daughter is taking what doesn't belong to her and you supporting her makes you a lying and cheating bástard! You're the scumbag here, you vile man. You're evil and that's why you and your daughter will suffer till the end of time. You will know no peace and you will both die miserable deaths." I cursed him. He deserved a much worse fate than that. He deserved to bow at my feet and beg for forgiveness.
"Fine, I'll show you what a vile man looks like." He smiled devilishly and kicked my stomach. He stomped all over me till it was getting difficult to see. The rain that had begun falling made it even worse as my wounds felt hot and itchy.
I grabbed hold of my neck and suspended my body in the air.
"Goodbye, Iris. I hope you never see the daylight again." He let go. I didn't feel my body landing on the ground immediately. Instead, I was falling. Before I could realize he had pushed me off the cliff, I landed inside the water, and everywhere had become dark.

FENRIR
The slap from my father stung a lot as I held my cheek. The most embarrassing part was that he did it in front of Lyra, her father, and some other council members.
"How dare you, Fenrir? How dare you reject the Moon goddess's gift to us?" He yelled and slammed his fist on the table.
"I did what I had to, father. I don't like her and I never will." I pouted.
"Can you even listen to yourself? Who are you to alter what the goddess herself has planned? That girl left her pack and came here just for you to be mated to her and you think it's a mere coincidence? And who did you choose? This vain girl?"
"Father!"
"Shut up!" He thundered, making my wolf submit to his order.
"She might be the daughter of a beta, my beta, but she is not fit to be queen. I have monitored her life and someone who lies against her own sister just to have everything is someone who wouldn't hesitate to sell the pack to our enemies. Why can't you see beyond a pretty face and flirtatious smile? Is this how I raised you?" He moved away from me and walked to the balcony. He stared briefly at the bubbling town before speaking.
"You will go back to that lady, take back your senseless rejection, and apologize to her. That's not a request, Fenrir. It is an order. And take his vile girl out of here."
"Your highness, you disrespect my daughter too much." Beta Bennett said respectfully. He dared not get mad at the Alpha even though they're very good friends.
"Is there a lie in anything I've said? You defended her so much that you don't see the atrocities she has committed. Mind you, I have eyes and ears everywhere and I know the deeds she has done, even against you." He said. I looked at Lyra to see her trembling with fear.
"I don't understand." Bennett said.
"Of course you won't. You've been blinded by fake love. This daughter of yours here killed your wife and your son because you were giving too much attention to them. She poisoned them and put the blame on poor Iris." He exposed her. Lyra immediately fell to her father's face and began begging.
"I'm so sorry, father. I had no choice. They were taking you away from me and from my mother." She cried. The shock on Beta Bennett's face was unexplainable.
Lyra was capable of doing such? But she looked so innocent and kind. How was that possible? And she wasn't even trying to deny that fact.
"Lyra… You killed her and Jordan?" His voice cracked and a glint of anger shone in his eyes. He kicked her away from him and was about to attack her but was stopped by some guards.
"I better not see you anywhere near me or else, I'll kill you!" He yelled in anger. The guards took the crying Lyra.
"Where is she?" My father questioned Bennett. I knew he was asking after Iris.
"She ran away. She couldn't bear the pain of being rejected and so, after I pulled her out, she cursed me and ran away, never to be seen again." He replied.
"What an elder sits down to see, even if a child climbs the taller mountains, he can never see it." He then turned to look at me.
"Find Iris, Fenrir. Or else, you can never be Alpha."
"What? Find her? How am I supposed to do that? Besides, you don't have any sons beside me." I defended myself.
"I will pick your beta and bestow my power and grace on him. Don't test my patience."
This old man was just so impossible. How did he expect me to find someone who doesn't want to be found?
IRIS I slowly opened my eyes, only to be overwhelmed by sharp pains all over my body and an eye-stinging light. I shut them back immediately. "She's awake." I heard a muffled voice and the torch was taken away from my face. "Set the fire... dinner is set." Someone said and the men left. I struggled to sit up but the pain wouldn't let me. Where was I? "Struggling is pointless, my dear. Don't worry, you are in safe hands." He smiled crookedly and sat down beside me. I wanted to shift away but I couldn't. I was too tired and weak. "Where am I?" I asked him. "You're with a hunting group." He replied. "We found you lying unconsciously by the river. Were you trying to commit suicide or something?" He questioned. I didn't know what to tell him but I was sure glad for his help. "Thank you for saving me." I simply said. The memories were still fresh; from the brutal rejection to being thrown down a cliff. I couldn't hold back my tears. I thought I was going to die and I was happy. I th
IRIS The pain I felt in between my legs was nothing to write home about, coupled with the darkness and hunger I had to live with. I hope the goddess was enjoying the show because it just got better. "Stand up!" One of the female guards yelled at me and I stood up. The other one roughly grabbed my hand and pulled me alongside them. I wondered where they were taking me. During all three days in prison, I reminisced on my past, my present, and my future. I used to think I was special but now, all I know is that I have no reason to live. In a few days, I had turned worse than trash. I hated my parents, I hated myself, my parents, and the world. To hell with the goddess or whatever her name was. I was taken to a large kitchen and was asked to sit on thr floor. I obeyed without arguing. A tray with food was placed in front of me to eat. At first, I felt uneasy but after my stomach growled, I began to eat. The food tasted so nice that I began rushing it. I almost choked on the food. "Lo
IRIS "You're excused, Iris. You will meet your tour guide on your way out. Take good care of yourself." He smiled. I bowed and left the room to avoid much drama. "I wanna go back." Artemis cried. Artemis is my wolf. Aside from Fenrir, she was one of the reasons I wanted to stay alive. She would console me every night I woke up from a nightmare and every night I would stay up because of some severe injury inflicted on me by my stepfather. "Suck it in, Arti, shouldn't you be dying for Fenrir instead?" I rolled my eyes. "That idîot. This one is more good-looking than that stûck up fool." She grouched. "Glad we think alike." As Alpha Finn had said, I met a man waiting down the hallway for me. "Is this place too hot or is it just me?" Artemis asked on arrival to the man. "Shut up," I whispered to her and kept my cool. "Hello, Iris. My name is Damon, the Beta of this pack, and I will be your tour guide for today." He took my hand and kissed the back of my palm. I could sense Artemi
IRIS I stared down at the clothes that were now properly arranged in the wardrobe. Thinking about everything, if felt like a dream; a dream I never wanted to wake up from. "Oh, mother," I sighed and walked to the window. "I wish you were here to see all of this. Finally, I can live the life you've always wanted." My hand trailed the glass windows as I stared down the building. "I'm no longer a slave. I'm being treated like a human being." Although lots of things had been taken from me, I was still grateful I was alive. At least, it was better than being dead or living in fear with some rogues out in the woods. The memories of what had happened were still fresh in my mind. I was meant to be dead. For goodness sake, I was thrown off a cliff by someone who once told me to call him father. And raped by a notorious man was enough to cause a great shift in my life but there I was, standing strong and hoping that one day, I would exert my revenge. I moved away from the window when I h
IRIS "Good evening, Alpha Finn." I greeted him with a slightly deep bow. I refused to take my eyes off the ground. I didn't want to see the previous look from before. "Look up." He commanded and I did as he said. He was smiling and his red eyes seemed warm. His eyes didn't depict the tone of his voice. I was left in utter speechlessness. His chin was resting on his right arm, giving him an alluring look. "How are you, Iris?" He asked and stood up. He walked over to the table and poured some liquid into two classes. "I'm fine," I replied. "Wine?" He offered but I shook my head. "Don't worry, it's harmless. Make yourself comfortable." His back was facing me so I couldn't see his face. I found a seat and sat down. He brought the wine to me and I took it with shaking hands. "I don't bite, Iris. Be free with me. Besides, I'm not your Alpha." "Yet," I muttered. "You will be soon." "Oh? You plan on staying forever?" I nodded. I didn't have anywhere to go and he had been the only on
IRIS Getting prepared for school was like going through hell for me that Tuesday. I couldn't sleep the entire night as I was thinking about what everything would be like; the teachers, the subjects, and most importantly, the students. Hopefully, I won't be running into the luna any time soon. I got out of bed lazily and slipped into the bathroom. I took off my clothes and had a bath. Everything was still so surreal; I had my very own apartment and nobody was there to send me on errands or give me a limited time to finish up a task. I was living the life I had always wanted. The only thing I didn't have was a phone. Well, I was going to get a job and buy that myself. Immediately after I finished dressing up, I heard a knock on the door and swirled to open it. I didn't see anybody but when I was about to shut the door, my eyes went to the ground and I saw a package. I looked around the environment but I didn't see anybody. I picked up the bag and with one last look, I walked back in
IRIS The tension in the class as the students stared at me while I was walking to an empty seat was enough to make me wet my pants. I clutched onto my bag tightly as I bent my head. That wasn't such a fine showing. What would Raven think of me now? A mate snatcher? Such a bad reputation on the first day of school. I finally settled for a seat beside a girl in glasses who seemed to be the only one not to care about my presence. I sat down quietly as I awaited the homeroom teacher. Soon, everyone forgot about the incident and went back to what they were doing earlier. I could hear noises from different phones and that made me wonder if phones were now legal in school. My eyes instinctively scanned my environment and I was quite impressed. The students didn't discriminate against me as they did at my school. Well, maybe because they had seen me with alpha Finn. My eyes darted to Raven, the alpha's luna, and I found her speaking to a group of girls. If I didn't know any better, I'd h
IRIS "Oh, hey." I waved at Roland. He smiled and waved back. "I see you two have already met," Anya said while looking between the two of us. "Yeah, yesterday. On her way to the pack house." Roland explained. "She was quite lost and nearly got into trouble." "I see. Oh well," She shrugged and turned to me. "This is my best friend in the whole world and I love him a lot. He can be a real nutcase sometimes but he's good." She patted his shoulder. He turned to her, frowning, while she bore the sweetest smoke she could muster. They were just so cute together. "It's great to have you here, Iris. Maybe we could all have lunch tomorrow, I'm free." He stared at me while he spoke. "Uhm… sure, only if Anya would want that. I don't want to intrude." I cleared my throat and clutched my bag. "No problem at all. It will give us time to get to know each other, don't you think so?" She asked me and I nodded. I sat down far from Roland while Anya sat very close to him. I was sensible enough to
FINAL EPISODE IRIS I woke up to the sound of glass shattering. I sat up immediately and looked at the accident that had happened. "Sorry, it slipped," Anya said with pleading eyes. She immediately picked up a broom and swept the dangerous, pointy materials away into the trash can. "What are you doing here anyway?" I asked her after she had finished cleaning. "I came to check up on you. I wanted to see how you were doing. My brother told me you were in the hospital. And also, Jason was worried about you. He's in detention tho. He'll swing by later in the evening." She explained after taking a seat."So, how are you feeling?" "Better, I guess." I laid back on the bed and tucked myself in. "Strong enough to leave this place this instant. I really hate the smell of hospitals." Anya giggled. "Who doesn't? Well, except for the doctors and nurses. Nobody likes to be sick and get confined in a pace that reeks of antiseptics." "Yeah, you totally get it." I sighed. "Actually, I'm her
WARNING: QUITE A STEAMY CHAPTER AHEAD. RATED 18+. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! IRIS My hands rummaged through his lower abdomen as I kissed him. He deepened the kiss and left me breathless at some point. Our foreheads met as we tried to catch our breath. "Iris, I better leave," He whispered. "Why?" I whispered breathlessly. Things were just getting started and he wanted to leave me like that. "You just woke up and must be feeling tired. I am myself right now." He shut his eyes and tried to walk away but I stopped him. "What? Are you scared you'll hurt me? But I'm fine." "Iris…" He called out impatiently. "I said I'm fine!" I yelled. My grip on him was strong. I wasn't ready to let go. I was frustrated. Wasn't he getting my point? "I'm sorry for yelling like that. I just—" Before I could finish my statement, Finn shut me up with yet another deep kiss. I was caught unaware and it was hard to keep up with him. "You have no idea how long I've waited for this." He pulled down his pan
IRIS Finn and I walked down to the nearest cafe. We decided to stay outside because of the scorching sun. After making sure I was seated, he went to the lemonade stand. I was left with my thoughts. I had witnessed everything that had happened but I was unconscious and scared. Though I saw Finn, Damon, and Anya fighting, I couldn't reach out to them. I thought I'd never wake up but after some days, I was able to get up on my feet. That was when I met Finn talking to the lady. She seemed pretty nice to have brought him cakes. I wished I had a taste of it. "Here," Finna announced, breaking me from my thoughts. "Thank you," I smiled and took the glass from him. He sat down while I sipped the juice. Finn was the only person on my mind when I woke up. I was supposed to be mad at him for what had happened between him and Zaria but I wasn't. "How are you feeling?" He asked. "I'm fine, I think so. I don't feel any pain in my head or any part of my body. I think I'm okay." I shrugged. H
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Hello, everyone. Thank you very much for reading this far into the story. We've entered the second half of the story and a whole new turn is about to take place. I will be introducing one or two new POVs. So hold onto your seat belts as we go on another journey entirely.**********VIOLET After the big battle, the pack members under the command of the alpha, started repairing the damaged parts of the town. It was nice seeing him so dedicated to his people and trying to help out in any way he can. My heart fluttered when he summoned my mother and I. He hardly does that himself and it was always his beta or gamma that always came to us. He was hardly seen around us but I got the opportunity to stand close to him that night. He even said he was expecting great things from us. He said his life was dependent on how long we covered the full moon. I felt it was such an honor. Today, I had gone with a gift to thank him for his hard work. I baked some muffins and cupcakes. T
FINN Finding my grandfather wasn't a big deal. My father and I had visited him since I was very young. I think I was seven years old when we went to him but I could remember how to get into his kingdom from start to finish. With the anger in me, I found my way to the cliff. I looked down and saw the rapidly moving water. Any random stranger would definitely not be able to get in because they didn't know what was down there. You could only get in when you think about a Golden Gate guarded by black demons. The water had a way of reading someone's mind. That was the power of black magic and that was why it was banned from coming into the world. It was dangerous and could serve as a tool for world domination. And it was what my grandfather had used to live for many years now. I made sure that I wasn't followed by anyone before jumping off the cliff with the gate in my mind. I held my breath as the water carried me. Soon, I arrived at the place. My clothes and my skin were dry. Such ev
FINN He was moving and fast. I wasn't expecting it. He was always two steps ahead and I never get to know what was in his head. That old man's mind was so twisted. The more reason he shouldn't be allowed to live longer. The problem was, how was I supposed to protect Iris while fighting off the bad guys? "How many guards are outside?" I asked him. "About six or seven." He replied. "Good. Get them in here now." I commanded. I looked at Iris in pity. Her body was going to tell on her when she wakes up. She had forcefully freed herself from the rope. That action made marks visible on her wrists. I knew it was going to hurt a lot and that was I why I wouldn't let her go through any pain again. Damon arrived with the guards. "Watch her," I said to them. "Guard her with your lives. If she gets out, it will be over for all of us." I briefed them before running out with Damon. Getting to the middle of the city, we could see that Hendrickson had already started causing severe damage and
FINN I didn't get to see Iris that night. I went home with Anya while Damon and Arnold tightened security. But I was sure that even with the security, my grandfather could do anything with his black magic. The only way was to get rid of him. I freshened up and went to my study. I needed to still look for ways to stop the ritual and clear my head. I had to apologize to Iris, protect her, and get rid of that old man for good or get him to stop his acts. I went back to the hospital the next day to meet Jason standing outside. He was staring at Iris through my window. Anya was standing right beside him, also looking at Iris. I felt my anger build up and I walked up straight to him. "What are you doing here?" I asked. "Good morning, Alpha Finn." "I don't want to see you here. Get out." I pointed to the door. But he wasn't yielding. He just stood there, looking pitiful. "I'm sorry, Alpha Finn. I just came here to see my friend. I know I haven't been the best friend to her. I mean,
FINN I rushed to the scene of the party after Anya had called. I was furious. Since when did both Anya and Iris start attending parties? The strong scent of alcohol hit my nose and I scrunched my face. These kids were lucky that whatever they were doing here was far away from town. I would have broken down the building if possible. I ventured inside the house. None of them noticed me because they were all wasted. "If I see Anya like this, I'll make sure she gets grounded." I scoffed. I finally found her in one corner, taking shots. As I got to where she was standing, I cleared my throat. She flinched when she saw me. "Why are you scared? Weren't you expecting me?" I folded my hands. "What are you doing here?" I asked. "I was just trying to forget everything. Jason doesn't want to hang out with me and I cut ties with Roland. Never in my life would I have done that." She whimpered. "Still doesn't warrant you coming here. Go home, Anya. I'll deal with you later." I said and wen
IRIS How dare he show his face to me after I told him to stay away from me? I would never forgive him. The fact that he didn't want to tell me about the kiss was enough proof to judge him. I needed closure. I needed to go out and clear my head. I got invited to the prom afterparty immediately after our test. The party was to be held that same evening. I planned never to go to a party but desperate times call for desperate measures. I needed my revenge to be served hot. I opened my wardrobe in search of something skimpy. I settled for a crop top, skinny jeans, and a jacket. I applied a little makeup before walking out of the room. I locked my door and exited the building. I ambled toward the road and stopped a taxi. I was driven to the manor where the party was taking place. It seemed it was already in full swing as the entire living room was crowded. Liam's parents had died in an accident, leaving the kid alone to live his reckless life. He threw parties almost every Friday and
