Twenty years later
" My King the Longship had arrived!" the dregil ( runner, servant) announces.
Balthar rose from his seat.
" Let them come in!" he muttered sounding excited.
Who wouldn't get excited about this? In the longship was the visitor he had wanted for a long to visit his kingdom.
" They've got lots of weapons and golds!" the dregil exclaimed.
But it's not the gold that he wanted, but Rhysher's favor. A friendship and an alliance of both of their kingdoms.
Who would not want to be an ally with the Lycan Blood Kingdom? It is the strongest kingdom in the entire Scandanavia known for its advanced weapons, and most of all, it is feared by all because of its King that was rumored to be an immortal monster who shapeshift under a full moon sky. Well, that's what they heard the old folks say, but he doesn't care. It's a security to be feared up, and he can ride on with him on that fear.
" Balthar!!" Rhysher greeted him with a fusts bump and a wide smile.
" Thank you for the present!" Balthar replied.
" Oh, don't mention. Oxidore is a beautiful place. This kingdom needs to be protected," Rysher said.
Balthar chuckled.
After some time the food server and some entertainers arrived. Balthar invited him to sit at the table.
" I prepared a feast for you, as my thanksgiving," he said.
This is how customs go in Oxidore, a respected guest is usually greeted with a feast, but the difference, unlike with the outside kingdoms, here in the entire Scandanavia, they don't entertain Kings with attractive dancing girls, but with a duel or a sword fight.
Combat has been everyone's norm, even for women and children, even housewives, merchants, and farmers.
After all, this is what Vikings are known for - a warrior.
" Here it goes!" Balthar cheered with excitement.
" My Friend, we especially prepared this for you!" he exclaimed pointing to a beautiful woman, with an amazonian figure.
She was cloth in a warrior suit. But what caught her attention is the unusual scent she have. It's not that alluring but it's stirring his curiosity.
She's not human, nor she's just a wolf! Rhysher thinks.
He gaze at Balthar that was too busy and excited at the moment. His thoughts were drawn to questions about a human like him who had some elemental wolf in his care.
" My friend, we gifted you a combat exhibition as this!" Balthar called his attention, showing him the show they were preparing for him.
Then, in a moment entered a monstrous, blood-sucking creature. It has two legs like that of human, dried skin, and a face of a beast, a body like a corpse.
Rhysher then knows that it was the monster the other Kingdoms had been hunting.
The primeval vampire! He thinks.
The primeval vampire is those that roam around every kingdom, devouring all bloodlines, may it be humans or wolves. They were the strongest and the craziest kind of vampires who knows no sense of humanity but only their bloodthirst.
But then, the woman was unmoved. She waited for the beast to come near to her like she was ready for it.
And as she wrestled with the beast, Rhysher saw her abilities. And he could not be mistaken, that it was the powers of the air is manifested in her.
Moving swift, and free like air...the color of her blazing eyes, and the force seen in her claws! She's the one born with an air element! Rhysher thinks.
Okay... now, two of them are to look for, then I can check who among them was the rebirth of Cybele. Rhysher thought to himself.
He couldn't help but recall that one ancient prophesy uttered before he was cast out from Valhalla.
" The elements are said to have created creatures. Rare and enigmatic creatures with strength and powers beyond the Supreme Wolf. A power near to that of the deities. Each had its own set of abilities in terms of the element they were responsible for. And among them will be reborn a goddess herself, deprived of justice and love, a bride of the Lycan god,"
His eyes sparkled in glee while Odin's voice seemed to reverberate in his thoughts.
At first, he disregarded the thinking that the prophecy doesn't concern him, but after all that happened to him, now he understands that it was he those words were referring to, and the goddess Cybele.
But maybe she too had taken a different name now, and a different face... He thought to himself.
" My friend, meet Astrid!" Balthar's voice had drawn his thoughts back to the moment.
Rhysher smiled at her, and extend out his hand for a handshake.
" I didn't know that you had a daughter?" he said looking at Balthar.
The King nodded his head and laugh, " because she grow up with her mother whom I separated!" he said.
" Oh...I see.." Rhysher nodded.
Meanwhile
This meadow is where she hides. For her, this hidden spot in Howling Valley is her piece of paradise.
How could it not be? Everything in here gives her a sense of serenity.
The hell hound, orange-molten gold colors of the autumn leaves that fall unto the ground, leaving the trees bare.
She would sometimes wonder if this could possibly be Valhalla or the playground of the gods.
She likes to visit this meadow during autumn. This is especially at this time when she felt most connected to the earth. And most importantly, this is where she could be real with what she feels.
At least I have a home now here in this Valley. Life was even miserable while I was there in Scholaro. She thinks.
The Scholaro is an underground training school where exceptional gifted are orphans are placed in there for some special mission that concerns every kingdom.
She is what she is now because of what she had grown up with in that place.
" The childless King of the Howling Valley wanted to adopt you,"
" Why me?"
" Because he sees you as exceptionally strong, one he could trust his Kingdom's survival once he is gone!"
She could not help but smirk as she recalled that incident about how she was adopted.
" Then, why he does not make an heir of his own blood?" she scowled.
" He can't. He's sick. And that's the reason why you're put in this school,"
She nearly cussed when she heard the head magister's response. That's all that they want from them here. They picked them out from the school not because they wanted a family, but sometimes for political or security reasons.
And here, she was viewed as the strongest student of all not because she possessed unique abilities, but because of her heart.
She can't feel a thing.
It's like the emotional part of her brain was shut down or maybe conditioned, the latter is what she wanted to believe.
" I am not impressed by your powers Gaia. Anyone could be born with it once given a chance. I am not even intimidated by your fangs and claws, werewolves are scattered all over the region. They're the usual thing!" her trainer said sounding like she was lecturing her.
She glared at her.
She smiled back and seemed purposely piss her more.
" You know that I can command the earth to swallow this entire school, or rip your throat with my fangs," she replied showing off her sharp teeth and yellow-gold eyes.
Her trainer burst a laugh, " Oh...that's not what I'm asking! Not a show-off of powers," she said.
Then she walk slowly towards her and slammed her chest.
" But!" her trainer yelled, " the stability of your heart!" she said with gritted teeth.
Gaia cooled down.
Her face was confused.
" Your powers are useless when you have a weakness. And the only way to get rid of every weakness in your soul was to be emotionless! Discard everything that your heart could possibly, dear...love...anger, joy...anything that's fleshly human!" her trainer said to her.
Until now, she couldn't forget those words, even her face, and the way she look at her that time while she was speaking.
That was awakening, and it change her.
People died, kingdoms end, new generation arises, but he, being immortal continues, and has no choice but to watch the rise and end of every civilization, and to bear a new name in each era." Thousand years...I am already waiting for a thousand years, and yet not even a shadow of Cybele had I seen," Rhysher sighed.I have already met the guardian of the water and fire, and recently the wind...there's still one I am looking for...the earth guardian. He thought to himself. After my fall, the messenger sent me a recent prophesy that my bride would possess some of my natural powers due to that incident I did before I drifted away, that day in Valhalla, and that would serve as a sign for me that she's the one. Yet, the problem is that later some time we found out there were four of them who were born with such elements of mine. This is getting complicated. If only you have the same face in this lifetime, Cybele. He thinks.Ofedin was known for being a feisty wolf that was given with powe
" So, who's the reborn of Cybele among them?" Farkas asked.Rhysher placed first an arrow before replying, " I don't know yet," he said releasing it to the target board.Farkas cheered seeing he'd made a bullseye." Still good huh!" he commented." Of course!"" But not that good in eyeing the goddess huh?" Farkas said.Rhysher lowered his bow and glared at him." Uh...just kidding!" Farkas chuckled." Anyway...are you sure you will identify her? Isn't the prophecy said..."" The prophecy is just a prophecy," he butted in, interrupting what Farkas was supposed to say." Nothing can come between us. Not even Valhalla. Not even destiny!" Rhysher said with all conviction. There was a pause.Farkas stared at his friend. If not for him, he would have settled in Valhalla instead of pretending to be a beta wolf in this human world." Yeah...I am confident in you, but the question is, who among the elemental wolves is a friend, a lover, or an enemy? You know you should see them well,"

Long straight jet black hair is Rain of the Eber Isles. She has a pretty vulnerable face, thick full lips, and green expressive eyes. At the first meeting, she could be easily assumed as the kind of girl who's always needing a hero. " Are ready?" her grandmother asked She looked at Rain for a while and fix the veil on her head. Today, at age sixteen she was chosen as the sacrificial priestess, which means she'll be in charge of the ceremony later after the dinner feast. " You're beautiful," he gran smiled. She was pleased. This time, Eber Isles is celebrating a festival as they used to do every at the very first glimpse of a full moon. The wolves in the isles are mostly fishermen. It is usually difficult for them to sail during the full moon because fishes are naturally hiding during this time. Fishes like to feed in the dark. And when the full moon is out, there is too much light for a specific to come to the top. Thus, they celebrate this feast as a way of gratitude to the moo

And the people of Ofedin know they're at a great disadvantage.Though they know how to wield swords, they don't have sufficient weapons to do so, plus their kingdom is in starvation this time. It's winter, and hunting is difficul
A FlashbackHooves hit the ground. Her eyes were watery because of the wind that was crushing on her face. The horse was running as if it is certain where it should go. She was fourteen. And she's not aware of the dangers outside her mother's territory. She should have listened to the oldies' advice not to go to the tavern. Now, she's being chased by some bad guys, and she's heading toward an unknown forest. It started when her scent attracted the attention of some men who were also tavern guests. And so, she's sure these men chasing her are vampires as they were the only ones in this world who could smell their wolf scent." " Priestess!" Rain's beta arrived in a hurry. Gamir was sweating in his furry tunic looking like he had just come from chaos. Recently, Rain ordered her ever-loyal beta to spy on Ofedin, to know the fire wolf's weakness especially. Now he has arrived. "What is it?" " Priestess, Ofedin is expecting nice weather this season""Nice weather?"" Yes, the entire pack is preparing rituals for the weather god. They're asking for good weather on their harvest day," Gamir informed her. Rain's eyes sparkled. Her lips curved up for a menacing grin. An idea came to her thoughts. It's payback time. Rain thought to herself. " That's not gonna happen," she said to Gamir. Beneath the huge boulder rocks is Rain. This spot here is just enough for her to have a clear view of the entire village of Ofedin. None can sense her presence. No one knows she's at the top watching the pack of the fire wolf. Rain recalls that day, how Akash had an argument with the Rysher. Akash loves her element much tha
Inside the mead hall are long tables lighted dimly with hanging fire lamps. Humans even vampires and werewolves gather in this place. This is the center place outside Scandanavia. No one knows who built this hall. Hersays said this was built by a previous human king for the purpose of commerce, but now, this hall seemed to appear like a tavern. Different creatures of different places go here to have a drink, and most present are the Viking wolves. This is Rain's first time coming here. She wants to unwind. The atmosphere in her pack lately was stressful, again. None is blaming her for the commotion on the sacrifice night, but this time, her abilities are being measured and worst ridiculed. Her pack witnessed how she was no match with Akash - the fire wolf. She's used to being treated by her pack this way. Her pack and the elders in it were always difficult to please. Rain quietly entered the mead hall. This time, she's not in her priestess suit. Instead, she's clothed in algae gree
Why is he upset? Rain asked herself, wondering. Lately, the Lycan King seemed disturbed. He seemed to be fixated on one thing. Ever since that earthquake in the land happened he seemed to be busy. He's always out of the kingdom, searching. What is it? Rain thought to herself. The royal guards greeted her as she entered the throne hall. Her closeness with the Lycan King gives her access to the palace. And also, who would doubt her? Aside from that this Lycan land has been like her second home, she has got that meek aura in which anyone would not doubt she's capable of evil. People would always say she can't even kill a bug, or she can't even defend herself in combat how much more of doing harm? Because of that, she had gained the trust of the people here, in the Lycan King's land. " What brought you here, water wolf?" Rain got a bit awkward. She pauses on her track for a while. Rysher sounds serious today. He was there sitting on a high seat located in the middle of the hall, in f
It's the end of moon phases, in this season the Ultima of the Howling Valley will either hibernate in her hideaway or will get her face covered until the moon phase pass. This time, Gaia choose to do them later. For some reasons most people don't understand, she usually spends time for herself stuff like this. She calls this resting. And for her resting includes seclusion, that's the time to gather herself and cultivate her energy. This is what she learned from the element she was born with - that even the strong should rest to become even stronger. She's following that mantra. Thanks to her Trainor in Scholaro.Today is her second day of rest. But it seems like her plans for today are not gonna work out for there is a sudden interruption. She saw her trusted servant rushing with a frightened face." What is it?" she inquired. The servant's lips were shaking. And before she could hear a reply, a sound crashes in their midst. She was quick to raise a shield on them. When the force fad
"Have you gotten my message? " yelled a voice from behind him.A woman emerged from the shadows and glided beautifully towards Odin in a regal and unhurried manner. Odin jerked, then turned. As was appropriate for an exalted figurehead, Cybele barged in there in his sanctuary in all her glory, dressed to the nines. She wore a simple garment of pleated linen that was gracefully draped around her body and bejeweled with strings of pearls. The dress was fastened to her shoulders with gold clasps, and as she moved her arms, the numerous rings and bangles she was wearing made a lovely clinking sound. The setting star hung directly behind her, its golden light cutting a seductive figure through the transparent fabric of her dress, emphasizing her small waist and exuberant breasts and leaving very little to the imagination are the hips. He had no idea how she managed it. The goddess was perfect even in the midst of a war." What's that get up? You know the gates are in trouble!" Odin comment
