CHAPTER TWENTY THREE 'In my eyes'

When Violet arrived at Lagsu, it was lively and bustling. However, many of the passersby seemed to mind their business and barely look at things that didn't concern them.

For example, there was a fatty bothering a lady who seemed to have no interest in him.

It looked cute at first but now, he was forcefully rubbing his body on hers and she her strength was weak compared to his so she could not push him away.

Violet sighed at the scene but Uak didn't seem bothered. 

“Your highness, we should buy some Lagsu clothing from the store. That way, it'll be easier to investigate without anyone paying attention to us.”

Violet looked at the girl who was now whimpering as the guy squeezed her plumpy ass. The female passerbys were mostly covered from head to toe and the masks around their face showed just how much the assault going on was common. The guys on the other hand secretly grinned as they passed by, turning a blind eye to the scene.

Unable to keep watching the scene, Violet walked to the scene with Uak closely behind her.

“We're uncover right now, please don't do anything that'll cause..”

It was too late.

Violet had grabbed the fat guy's hand and without warning, landed a slap on his face, throwing him into the dirt.

Upon receiving this help, the girl quickly went to hide behind Violet for protection. Uak scoffed and whispered near Violet's ear. “Please don't do anything too eye catching.”

Violet scoffed and the fat man stood on his feet, scanning Violet with his eyes. He smirked when he looked at her face but as he saw the skin under her right sleeve, he frowned.

“Who is this ugly woman and how dare you hit me? Did you do it because you are jealous that I hit on the fair maiden and not you?”

Uak face palmed herself.

If Violet had previously decided to beat him up and let him go, it would've been better but now.. He'd mocked her scars. She would definitely kill him.

“You're right, I should be jealous and yearn for a gentleman as manly and strong as you are to lay his hands on me.”

Huh?

Uak removed her hand from her face upon hearing Violet's words. It didn't sound like her at all.

A look appeared in Violet eyes as the fat man chuckled, a glint of pride in them.

She held him by his neck and he instantly tried to tear her hands away but of course, he was too weak.

“People like you are a waste of gaia's breath.”

“True.” Uak muttered behind Violet, “How can a human have such a messed up way of the thinking?”

The girl hiding behind Violet stepped out fearfully, “Young mistress, please spare this man. Please do not take his life!”

Violet scoffed as she turned to look at the fragile girl she saved. She was so little and looked weak and soft. 

It was a pathetic sight.

“Would you rather die in his stead then?”

The girl went on her knees and shook her head, “N-no but please.. Don't kill him.”

By now, there were a large amount of people gathering. Violet smirked and gave a look to Uak, a signal to tell her to retreat.

Without another thought, she twisted the man's neck and he dropped dead on the floor.

The crowd stumbled backwards in fear while some of the men in the crowd tried to seize her but her aura kept them locked down.

“Any man that thinks women are mere objects that should be touched inappropriately deserves death. From now on, I'll be watching and if I catch any man lay a finger on a woman, I'll kill him.” With that, she casted an invisibility spell and walked past the crowd that were in panic of what had just happened. 

Violet soon caught up with Uak who was standing by the corner, anxiously looking about.

Violet smirked and snapped her finger, then she became visible to Uak who let out a cry of surprise.

“What? Toughen up.” She hissed.

Uak regained from the shock but it seemed as though her soul was out of her body. Violet had given her quite the fright. How could she just appear and disappear like that and think it was alright?

“Your highness, how could you just disappear and appear like that? Since when did you know magic?”

Violet rolled her eyes. “Just a little trick. How could you be so surprised?” With that, she started walking away. She'd summarise the map of Lagsu so she knew exactly where she was going. Also, she'd travel past this road before. 

She entered a familiar inn.

It was called Rose Inn.

She sat on a table and Uak went to order every single food on the menu to Violet liking. 

Pending the time the food arrived, Uak decided to say what was on her mind.

“Your highness, are you really going to go about killing people?”

A yawn escaped Violet's lips and lazily, she said. “You saw what he did.”

“Yes. But there are so many others like him. If you kill every single man you find treating a woman like a toy, then wouldn't there be a worldwide shortage of guys in the world?”

“So you admit that most guys have animalistic tendencies?”

Uak couldn't dispose of Violet's notion.

“If so then, I'm willing to wipe all of them off the surface of earth. A world without monsters like that guy is the world everyone should strive to live in.”

“But your highness.. You can't even breathe. If people know that, they'll see you as a monster.”

Violet did not take offense to Uak's words. It was the truth.

“I don't care what anyone thinks. I might be everything bad but I'm not an hypocrite. Some guys think they deserve more space because of their physical strength, we all need to show them, some girls might lack physical strength but they're not stupid and deserve equal rights as them, socially and in governmental sectors as well.”

Uak grinned, “In my eyes, you're the best!”

Just then, two waiters arrived with several plates of delicious foods.
