We stayed indoors the next day. Marcus didn't do much. I really wanted to check on Mason, but I was too frightened to bring it up. I didn't want Marcus to think I had feelings for his friend, and I did not think Marcus was over the incident.

Michael said you sent the Gamma and Delta on errands," Marcus said, and I figured Michael must have linked him to tell him.

I sat up in bed, exhausted from our recent activities and sighed.

"Yes, I did," I said, yawning, " I don't want to give Sylvia time to come up with a plan," I said to him, and he nodded and returned to bed to sit next to me.

"Thanks, Gwen," he said calmly, and I was confused as to why he was thanking me.

"For saving my life and sparing Mason's life," he said and kissed my lips. The truth was I didn't intend to spare Mason's life. Fate had. If Sylvia didn't laugh, I would have twisted my hand and pulled out something from him. I kept silent and did not say a word.

Mason told Alen to stop. I think Alen wanted to kill the baby because it was Marcus' and Sylvia had always had a thing for Marcus
