080 Don't Be A Hero

When Gwen left for the Gray pack, we were all scared. Gwen had never gone to battle without either of us being there with her. This was the first, and it scared us. We had a lot of questions like, will she make the right judgement call? Can she take the lead? Will people listen out of loyalty? Those were our concerns. Gwen was an Alpha breed, but she wasn't an Alpha, she had no authority to command or compel respect. All the wolves that would be fighting by her side would be doing so out of loyalty, duty and love.

I knew it was hard for her to leave, and I felt it. Marcus would have stopped her, he was close to it, but we did not know how Gwen would have taken it. If we had said no, she would have thought we did not have faith in her abilities.

Talking to her on the phone was not enough. For the first time since we all got together, we slept in separate rooms. Marcus often went on runs to get his wolf tired, so he would just sleep when he returns. I guessed that was how he was
