Gwyneth Mason refused to leave. He came for Marcus, and I screamed. "No, Mason! Please don't get yourself killed," I said as Marcus was trying to decide who to attack first. "Let us attack him together," Mason said, and Micheal agreed. I knew it wouldn't work, and I wish they had just listened to me. We were no match for Marcus. We had never been, and now whatever the people did to him had made it worse. They attacked, and I managed to join them. Marcus was fast and precise. He punched, kicked, and scratched us out of the way. Michael's leg was broken, and he couldn't get up again, leaving Mason and me. Mason sent a punch, and Marcus caught it and crushed his fist. Mason screamed from pain and knelt. Mason, being the strongest of us three, was the only one that was able to inflict some injuries on Marcus, and now he was down. I began to cry on the floor where I was in pain and agony. "Please, Marcus," I pleaded, and he slowly advanced towards me with bloodshot eyes. "Ivan, pleas
Gwyneth We arrived at our territory, and we were all taken to the clinic. I didn't know how badly injured I was until the doctor attended to me. I was so broken, that I wasn't healing properly, and I needed help. Marcus's system was being flushed in another room. Mason was the only one in good shape, apart from his broken fist, which was almost fully healed. He stayed with me all night without saying a word. The man loved me deeply. It was just sad that I had met Marcus before him. I honestly hoped he would find someone that would love him as deeply as he loved. "How are you feeling?" he asked me with a smile on his face. "Better," I told him, but I was in severe pain. "How is he?" I managed to ask. "He is getting better. His system is trying to adjust. The doctor said it was good we found him when we did and took off the patches on his skin. He would have been permanently feral if all the drug had been released into his body through the patches." Mason told me, and I cried a bit.
Gwyneth Marcus and I spent two days indoors making love. He didn't let me step outside, and I wasn't allowed to go on runs. He kept me indoors. If we weren't watching television, we were eating or getting it on. "We can't stay cooped up indoors forever, Marcus," I said, snuggling into his arms. "You can't get pregnant doing all those activities," he said, and I realised what he was doing. "I asked the doctor about it, and he said we are likely to be successful if you aren't under a lot of stress," he said, and I laughed. "Very well then, Let's see how it works," I said and paused awhile. I have wanted to ask him some things since we got home, but I kept postponing, afraid that the questions might be traumatic for him, but I needed to ask now. "Marcus, I do not want to spoil the mood, but I have a lot of questions for you," I said, and he turned to look at me. "Shoot," he said, and I cleared my throat, unsure where to begin. "Do you have an Idea about who orchestrated what happe
Gwyneth My father's discoveries did not sit well with Marcus. I could feel his apprehension. My father left as soon as he had delivered the message. He said he would have just called, but he wanted to deliver the files in person because he did not trust the people at his pack in the meantime. I persuaded him to stay the night, but he didn't want to be away from Ginger for long and knowing how Marcus fusses over me, I could understand. Marcus was uncomfortable with my father's findings because that would put him at loggerheads with Mason. We returned to our room after the meeting with my father, and Marcus did not say a word to me. I knew I had to break the ice. "So what are we going to do about this now?" I asked Marcus, and he shook his head in response. "Mason is my best friend, I already have issues with him because of our relationship, we are just working through that and now this. How do I tell him his favourite uncle is a suspect?" He said. Marcus laid down on the bed and sta
Gwyneth Marcus left me in the Alpha house to attend to some matters. He had requested Delta Mathlaw to keep me company while he tried to figure out what was going on in the pack. He sent Michael to search the territory secretly for a factory or warehouse that might contain monkshood or the drug. I sat nervously in the living area, waiting for my guest to arrive. To my surprise, Sylvia came instead. "Hello," she greeted me casually and tried to be disrespectful about it. "Is that how you greet your Luna?" I asked her, and she tried to be nonchalant. "He is just using you, you know, Kaylin will always be in his heart," she said, and I began to laugh. It was honestly funny how much effort the woman puts into trying to make herself feel good. "I have a mark on my neck that says otherwise, and he is wearing only my mark now, so I think Kaylin is a bygone now," I said, and she squeezed her face a bit. "I guess you didn't enjoy the show you got last time when you barged into his office
Gwyneth We spent almost a week in the Clement pack, and Marcus was yet to find anything concrete on the Delta. He had begun to think my father had given us false information because the so-called payments did not reflect in Lucas' accounts, and his emails were clean. The hacker checked his deleted mails too, and it was as if there was no exchange between him and my uncle. It made both of us wonder why anyone would want to lead my father in that direction. It also made Marcus declare my Uncles' mistress as a person of interest. Although Marcus did not want to say it, my father was also a person of interest, and the alleged false information that he had brought had made things worse. I couldn't despise it, but I hoped that Marcus would not move against him until he was sure it was him. I had prepared my mind for the worst. But I hoped deep down it wouldn't come to that. Marcus finally had a lead on Udlrich and decided to check it out. I was to return to our pack alone without him. I di
Gwyneth I woke up before the sun was out and was ready to leave. I hoped that what happened the night before was a dream, but I knew it wasn't. The bastard had set me up, and I had fallen for it. I should have known he hadn't meant well. The fact that he asked me weird questions and refused to drink the wine was a sign that I should not trust him. But I foolishly sat with him and drank the wine. I shouldn't have been so trusting of someone that we suspected initially. He might have been innocent of what we suspected him of, but he was a bad man, and he had done me a great evil. I hoped he didn't make good on his promise. On my journey back to the pack, I tried Marcus's line a couple of times, but he refused to answer. After a while, he sent me a message to check my email. Nothing was endearing about the text, so I figured something had happened. What I saw in the mail shocked me. They had made it seem as if I had thrown myself at the delta, and I was enjoying the make-out session. It
Gwyneth I heard someone enter the room and I became scared. Thinking someone had come to take advantage of me, I was on the defensive. Lucas's action had left me jittery, and the fact that Marcus hadn't spoken to me in almost forty-eight hours didn't help either. "It's me, Gwen," I heard Marcus voice, and I got up and pounced on him immediately. I hugged him tightly. "It's a lie, Marcus," I said, on and on and on, but he was stiff and didn't hug me back, so I pulled away from him. He went to shower and spent a lot of time in the shower. I was nervous and worried and didn't know what to do. I didn't know if he was going to end things or put me on probation. I didn't know what he was going to do to me at all. When he came out of the bathroom in his boxer shorts, I was worried, so I walked to him, but he pushed me and held me against the wall. I wanted to cry, but I held it together. He took in my scent and didn't say anything. I knew I had held my breath, but it was out of worry. T
