I woke up the next morning in Marcus's arms, and I pulled away from resentment. The fact that he was yet to take the initiative to do the right thing hurt me. He didn't love me enough to let go of his past. Not wanting to dwell on the matter, I decided to carry out a plan I had planned on executing since the incident with the wolves we lost to the baron, whoever that might be. Making sure it was early enough, I woke Marcus.

"Is everything okay Gwen?" he asked, a bit concerned.

"We need to raid the packhouse now," I said, and he was alert, almost as if I had given him a jolt.

"What! why?" He asked, and I looked at him. Marcus wasn't as smart as people thought. To think he hadn't thought of my idea made me believe I was the brain in our relationship, or whatever it is we had. I decided to explain 'why' to him.

"If drugs have gotten into our territory then who do you think the targets might be?" I asked him, and as realisation dawned on him, his eyes widened. Maybe it was the

They are only doing what’s best. Why don’t those wolves see it that way? I know I wouldn’t want to feel violated, but I also wouldn’t want to make it look like I had something to hide.
