Sean's POV
One week passed. I should be in court hearing the judge's verdict on my divorce suit against Jessie. I chose not to come because I can count on Steve. The proof, the divorce certificate is now in my hands. The letter that officially ended all my fucking life with Jessie.
Steve suggested suing Jessie for fraud, but I didn't. Instead of wasting time with useless things, I'd better apologize immediately for my mistakes to Angel. She has suffered too much because of me.
I looked straight at Angel's house. This has become a habit ever since I found out where she lives. I couldn't do what I wanted to get into her house, though it was hard to resist the urge. Angel has repeatedly shown rejection and even tends to hate me, and she has the right to do so. But I believe, she still has feelings left for me.
"Hello?" Angel picked up the phone.
"This is me." I whispered
Author's POVSean's bag lay at the tip of his shoe. He looked around the airport, hoping for a miracle to come. A woman named Angel who he wants to be his miracle. Even though he knew it was an impossibility. Angel didn't even know that he was going to another country. And he was also sure, even though Angel knew he would not want to meet him. After getting a message from Harvey, Sean's anxiety is getting worse. Sean wanted Angel so much that he forgot his illness. Sean realizes that he has given Angel a lot of trouble, and now he is trying to let Angel and Harriet go. Sean's illness will only make it more difficult for them."Where is your sanity?!" David shouted angrily through the cell phone. Sean couldn't help it, especially after David found out about his will."This is my sanity. I have to go before my selfishness takes over.""You've given up on Angel? On your daugh
It's late afternoon. Harriet had finished bathing, and now it was time for her to eat. As I grabbed the spoon and bowl of chicken soup, I noticed Sean had been sitting awkwardly on the couch since we got out of the taxi. Sean's green eyes looked at Harriet who had been hiding behind me. "Would you like to try feeding Harriet?" I took the initiative. Sean immediately got up from his seat and nodded enthusiastically. Just as Sean was about to walk over to us, Harriet was hiding even more and hugging my leg tightly. "It's all right, Harriet. Let's eat with Daddy. "No... Mommy." I could see Sean's happy expression was gone. "Is Harriet afraid of me?" "You're new to Harriet. You don't have to think too much about it."
Harriet likes everything about animals. I bought a lot of encyclopedias about them. Even though she didn't fully understand, her eyes still sparkled whenever she saw various kinds of animals through books. Today will be a historic day for Harriet, because we are going to the safari park. I told Sean that Harriet liked the variety of animals more than the fish in the aquarium. So now Harriet and I are ready in front of the house waiting for Sean to pick up.Ah, Sean and I have made up. But I still haven't let Sean stay at my house. Not without reason. Besides we had just started a relationship, Harriet couldn't get used to Sean's presence either. Everything needs a process, right? The horn sounded, and Sean's car stopped right in front of the house. Harriet looked at the source of the sound before stomping cheerfully. Harriet seemed to know if she was wearing a nice dress she was definitely going somewhere.Sean got out of the car half running, but at the same ti
I gazed at the view of London from the rooftop restaurant. I went to this restaurant with Sean when we were still in college. I told you that Sean had forced me here because it was his birthday, right? I never thought I'd be going to the same place with Sean again, and we even have a beautiful daughter now. The night wind blows, and I smile. Harriet has been photographed in many spots by Sean. I don't think Harriet likes being photographed, but more interested in Sean's polaroid photos where the results come out instantly. "Yay! This is good!" Harriet shouted, holding up a bunch of polaroid photos. "Are you satisfied with taking pictures?" I asked, approaching them. "Can we go home now?" Harriet shook her head, then grabbed Sean's finger instead. She pulled Sean over to be photographed near the flowers. "Daddy will take one more photo. After this we have to go home so Harriet and Mom can rest." Surprisingly to Sean's persuasion, Harriet compli
I woke up to the smell of food. My body got off the bed, and walked to the source of the delicious smell from outside the room. Finding Sean making breakfast in my kitchen was something that never crossed my mind, not after all the crazy things that had happened between us. But that's the fact. Now Sean was busy at the stove, with his eyes on Harriet sitting on the floor eating strawberry jam. At first it was difficult to get Harriet closer to Sean, but look now Harriet doesn't want to be away from Sean. They are like inseparable twins. I hugged Sean's body from behind, then buried my wrinkled face in his wide back. Sean smelled even better than the pancakes he was making. Oh, I seem to be getting crazy about him. "Look, Harriet. Who's up so late? Yes, your mommy." Sean spoke to Harriet, and our daughters laughed. Sean turned his body followed by kissing my lips. I laughed amused. I kissed Sean back, and his hands now ended up squeezing my ass pretty
"Suki? David?" I asked surprised as I opened the door. "Surprise!" They shouted at the same time. Why did they come to my house? I've changed clothes and so has Harriet. We're going to accompany Sean to the hospital to see Doctor Russell. "Gosh, what's with your face? You don't seem to like seeing me and David." Suki said laughing, as they entered my house. They bring pizza, drinks and other food. "Where is my beautiful niece?" "In the bathroom." I said, pointing at Sean who had just come out of the bathroom with Harriet. Harriet had been pooping, and suddenly wanted to be cleaned up by Sean. "Aunty Suki is here! Gosh, aunty and uncle miss Harriet!" Suki shouted, placing her shopping on the floor to quickly carry my daughter. Harriet laughed hysterically, especially when it was David's turn to carry her. David made my daughter fly. "You've already come." Sean said reflexively making me look at him. Did they make a promi
Angel's POV The next day I left Harriet at Suki and David's house. I don't know if this day will be long or short. Of course I hoped it would be brief, like just having a short chat with Doctor Russell and then having dinner at a beachside restaurant. But I can't guarantee everything, especially Sean admits that his vision is quite blurry. I was getting worried about it. "Babe, let's promise me first." Sean said as we waited in line in front of Doctor Russell's room. "Promise me you won't do anything I don't like when we meet Doctor Russell." I frowned, "What do you mean?" "Don't cry. You're not allowed to cry, or we won't get into his room at all." For a moment I was silent. I felt like I was hit by a heavy object and I really wanted to cry. Why was Sean's request so difficult? I looked down and rubbed my teary eyes. "I will try." I whispered. "My future wife is smart." Sean compliments as he brings my face to his warm broad c
"Are you sure about your decision?" Steve asked for the umpteenth time, and my answer still didn't change. "I'm sure, Steve. Thank you for giving me so much leeway over the past month, but I really can't keep this job anymore." "I understand your situation, and I'll give you another leeway as long as you don't resign." I crumpled the box containing my office equipment. Yes, I'm in Steve's room to resign. Since a week ago I have written a resignation letter, but Steve always returns the letter to me. So this morning I immediately tidied my desk, and said I was leaving his office. "My mind is in a complete mess. While I'm here, my mind is only focused on Sean. I'm an unprofessional employee." "I'll give you days off. How about it, Angel? Can you consider that?" "You're a really good boss, but sorry I wanted to focus more on keeping Sean in the hospital." Steve tapped his finger on the table, then was silent for a long moment. He
It's been a month since Darla sprained her leg. So it's been a month since Darla hasn't spoken to Sean again. Darla forgot about Steve's threats because she was already hurt by Sean's words. How could Darla approach Sean when Sean's attitude was so arrogant? Besides... besides that Darla is pregnant. Yes, Darla got pregnant by Sean. Unfortunately she still keeps her pregnancy a secret from anyone, except for Britney. So Darla decided to stop working at the nightclub and Britney allowed it. Today Darla is cooking a lot of food because it is a special day. Today is Noah's first day of school. Since being pregnant, Darla feels more passionate about cooking. The great thing is that Darla's cooking is now very delicious. It's 1pm and Noah should be back from school. She paced back and forth in front of the house anxiously. Suddenly a taxi pulled up in front of her house and Noah got out of there. Not only that, Noah was with Meredith. "Noah, come here," Darla said
Darla never imagined that she would be in this situation. She was on Sean's back. Yes, Sean carried her to the mini market. Darla could not focus because Sean's back was so board and wide, besides that the smell of Sean's perfume made Darla mesmerized. Sean's perfume was already mixed with sweat and it reminded her of the time they had sex a few days ago. "Wrap your hands around my neck," Sean said because Darla almost fell over. Slowly Darla's hands were now on Sean's neck. She had been holding Sean's shoulder because she felt it was too awkward. To be honest she was shy, but she couldn't walk alone either. Her ankle was too sore. "Sorry, I must be heavy," said Darla feeling bad. "No, you're not heavy." "I weigh 50 kg." Darla said honestly. “Why did you say that? Do you want to know my weight?” Sean chimed in. "I just wanted to let you know that I'm heavy." "If you're still saying the same thing then I'll leave you her
Darla woke up earlier than usual. The night after Sean followed her to the nightclub, Darla couldn't think of anything. She had been quiet for a while in the club and asked Britney for an opinion, after which she decided to take time off work that night. So Darla came back home around 10 and Noah was asleep. Ah, she hasn't even spoken to her younger brother since yesterday afternoon. To refresh her mind, Darla decided to jog around the complex. She also hadn't exercised in a long time so her muscles felt stiff. After warming up, Darla started jogging. She has heard that when we are stressed, jogging is one of the sports that can be used as an option.Yes, Darla is under a lot of stress. Britney's words are still etched in her mind. Darla really had no other choice but to refuse Steve's request, so Darla couldn't help but obey. Darla must look for evidence while she pretends to cooperate with Steve. She honestly didn't want to set Sean up, but Noah's life was at stake.
Harriet was still pretending to be asleep even as Sean carried her. Noah walked behind Sean and Anne, so Noah could see that Harriet was slowly opening her eyes. Noah smiled and Harriet smiled back."Go back to sleep," Noah said quietly.Harriet immediately closed her eyes again. She was quite happy to meet Noah even though this afternoon Sean forbade them to meet. And she was also happy to be carried by Sean. Harriet missed Sean's warm embrace."Noah? Come and walk beside me."Anne's words made Noah run over, so they all walked side by side down the cemetery area. Anne's wrinkled hand gripped Noah's.“We want to thank you. If you hadn't told us about Angel’s grave, we might not have thought of coming here. Previously we were really frantic and panicked,” said Anne gratefully."Yeah, you're welcome, Grandma. Because the only place I can think of is this.” Noah gave a sweet smile."Thank you darling." Once again
In Sean's hand was a toy in the form of a lego. He had just bought this at a toy store as he was going home. Harriet will definitely love this lego. Previously Harriet was still angry that she didn't want to talk to Sean. Sean understood that because lately he had been quite fond of his little daughter. When Sean arrived at his house, he saw Anne was in the yard looking for something. "Mom, what's wrong? What are you looking for?” Sean asked.Anne approached Sean and her face showed panic. “Sean… Harriet disappeared. She's not in the house," answered Anne in a trembling voice."W-what?" Sean's eyes widened in surprise. His heart felt like it was going to burst when he heard that. "Are you sure, Mom?""Yeah, I haven't been able to find Harriet since."Sean immediately ran to enter the house. He entered Harriet's room which was no longer locked even though his little daughter had locked it since this afternoon. Sean's feet searched
"Britney? May I ask your advice?”Those were the first words that came out of Darla's lips as soon as she approached Britney. Britney exhaled the smoke, then she pressed the butt against the ashtray."What do you want to ask?"Darla sat down next to Britney. To be honest she was hesitant to talk let alone ask for advice from Britney. Darla used to keep everything to herself, but this time she felt like she wanted to share her worries. Darla wanted to know what a Britney's point of view was."I ... I mean it's about my friend," Darla lied. She couldn't possibly say that this was about her. If Britney knew the truth, Britney might be more frustrated than Darla.“What problem does your friend have?”Darla fiddled with her fingers for a moment before she worked up the courage to speak. “My friend received a threat from someone. She was told to make a man love her, then after that my friend had to leave the man. She is in
Darla was just about to enter the nightclub where she worked and just at that moment Steve called her. She squeezed the phone in her hand because she didn't want to talk to Steve at all. She had already guessed that Steve would ask about the progress of her relationship with Sean. Oh, this can't even be called progress. They even had a fight this afternoon."What are you calling me for?" she asked as soon as she picked up Steve's call. She pulled over to the side of the road right beside the nightclub."Is there any progress?" Steve asked matter-of-factly."Steve, didn't you give me three months?" Darla reminded Steve."Yeah, I'm just making sure you don't retreat unilaterally."Darla snorted. “Did I think I had that kind of opportunity? You put me in the most difficult position.”"It's good that you're aware of that." Steve laughed with satisfaction. “If you are caught unilaterally retreating, then I will not hesitate to k
"Could you show us where your basement is?"Steve did not immediately respond to Xavier's request and it made Harvey smile. Steve seemed a bit taken aback and maybe he was starting to get intimidated that Harvey knew about the secret room.“Yeah, sure, but I haven't been in the basement in a while so maybe it'll get pretty dirty. Maybe about 6 months ago,” Steve said pretending to think.Steve walked in front of them. There is a door and in that room there is a secret staircase leading to the basement. They all descended the stairs and now they were all finally in the basement. Steve turned on the light switch, but the light was dim as a sign that this room was rarely visited. Xavier and his team are even pretty sure that this basement was probably last visited a few months ago. This basement room is dirty and stuffy."This must be your trick. You want to deceive us all," said Harvey confidently. Previously, Dalton had talked about this baseme
After making sure Caroline was waiting in the car, Harvey walked behind Xavier's team. Harvey tried to call Steve's cell phone number to find out if Steve was home or not, but Steve didn't pick up at all. Steve was certainly confused after his crime was caught until the rescue team was here.Harvey and Xavier's team stepped further into the house. This house is very quiet as if uninhabited. Suddenly they heard the sound of the cell phone ringing tone.Xavier glanced at Harvey. "Are you calling him?" Harvey nodded his head, then he showed Xavier the screen of his cell phone. He did call Steve, but he didn't pick up. "Keep calling him. I'm sure he'll pick up if you keep calling him.""Yeah, looks like Steve still doesn't know we're here."“You better look for something in every corner of this house. If there's anything suspicious, you can tell me right away,” Xavier told his team of two men."Okay sir," they answered in unison, then they
