"Riya's point of view,"

I dashed into the office, my attention drawn to the ticking biometric clock, and, thank God, it spared me from being late for work.

That my office had been open since 9:00 a.m. allowed me to exhale a sigh of relief.

At 8:59 a.m., I punched my finger with my other hand.

This time, I ignored the irritating buzzing sound emanating from my phone's alarm clock.

I was pleased with myself for my minor accomplishment.

I had the distinct impression that I had accomplished something significant. After all, I was a mature and responsible young lady.

I preferred to be present only when it was absolutely necessary, rather than before or after the event.

Walking to my cabin after entering the office area and watching all the cabins collapse along the way was a surreal experience.

Because most of the people had not yet arrived, it deserted the cabins when I arrived.

My first step when I arrived at my cabin was to place my laptop bag on the table, grab the rest of my belongings, and visit the bathroom to freshen up.

I took a comb out of my handbag and secured it with a black rubber band to comb my long hair into a high ponytail for the occasion.

Even though I only have one moisturiser, which is a makeup kit that I also use on my face, my long, thick brown hair suffices to make me appear attractive. (as said by Harsh)

As everyone else entered the office, I wanted to check the time on my wristwatch.

I smiled and murmured, "I forgot to wear my wristwatch."

'At 10:30 a.m., the entire staff gathered in the conference room.' My phone rang with a message.

I looked at my phone and saw that it was 9:30 a.m., which meant that I only had one hour left to complete the task.

When I got back to my cabin, I sat down to rest.

I dialled Harsh's phone number to see if he had arrived at his place of employment.

I exhaled a sigh of relief when I realized that Harsh had arrived at work on time.

I opened my laptop to check my email, but the sound of loud shouting diverted my attention away from it.

It's Rachit's voice, to be sure, but who exactly is Rachit shouting at with such zeal?

He always maintains a friendly demeanor with everyone.

"Do you know what happened so suddenly?" That was a question I posed to myself.

Curious about Rachit's cabin, I got up out of my seat and peered out the window a few times.

My curiosity about Ashish stemmed from the fact that I wasn't sure whose wrath Rachit Sir was wreaking on his team members. Ashish responded in the affirmative.

"Thank God I'm not a member of his team." According to Ashish, I had also made it out alive. I responded in the affirmative.

We both smiled as we walked back to our respective cabins.

The source of Rachit's rage today, as well as the reason for his outburst, remains a mystery.

Although Rachit does not hold me in such high regard, he loses his cool solely because of my presence, and because of my ignorance.

Today I must save myself from his gaze.

Perhaps he should put blacklisting the number on his ego and cause a complication in my official employment, or else he will not do it, at least not according to what I know about him.

I've only had one kiss, so what caused me to feel so out of the ordinary?

He's probably feeling a little strange in front of me, too.

A knock drew my attention to the cabin door.

"It was 10:30 a.m., so let's go to the meeting," Ashish said and I stood from my seat and agreed with a nod.

Rachit will be present at the meeting; what will my strategy be for dealing with him?

I reasoned I wasn't sure how he'd react if he saw me coming in.

Rachit was nowhere to be found when the rest of the office staff gathered in the conference room for their weekly meeting.

Rachit had not yet appeared, although everyone had taken their seats.

It didn't take long for my relief at his absence to wear off, as I became increasingly restless because of his absence.

The meeting had begun, but no one had revealed why he had been absent from the start. It was a mystery.

Upon arriving late, Rachit apologized and explained that he had received an urgent phone call from the company's corporate headquarters.

When he spoke, it diverted away my attention from the PowerPoint presentation.

Until he could find a chair, he asked that the presentation continue.

He walked in and sat in the empty chair in front of me, and the sight of him made my eyes gleam, as if the withered flower had bloomed once more in my presence.

I tried everything I could to ignore him and concentrate on the PowerPoint presentation in front of me, but it was impossible.

I couldn't help but smile when I saw him dressed so well in sky blue denim and a white T-shirt. although he was rude.

I couldn't figure out what it is about him that causes me to lose control,

That he was looking at me showed he knew fully that I was ignoring him. However, he felt compelled to inquire about me and the reason for my sudden change in attitude.

Mr. Shinde of the Human Resource Department then announced the company's annual holiday tour, saying, "I am very pleased to inform all of you that, as we do every year, the company is sending its employees on vacation, and this year Shimla is planning to go on tour."

The excitement on the staff's faces was palpable, "and you will receive an email with the date of the tour and other important information."

The conference had concluded, and everyone was making their way back to their respective areas one by one when Rachit interrupted, sternly saying, "Riya, I need to speak with you about something important."

Oh no, that's exactly what I was afraid would happen, I softly whispered as I sat back in my chair.

But after a while he looked at me and said, "There's nothing significant here," and that was the end of that.

"We'll have a discussion about it later."

When I finished listening to him, I was relieved and grateful to God for rescuing me from my mental anguish.

I cried out in gratitude to God.

He stood there, watching me leave the meeting hall and then return to his cabin as I walked out the door.

  • Unfulfilled desires   Epilogue

"Riya's point of view,""Riya, why are you wasting so much time getting ready today? Poor Harsh, have been waiting for you for so long." Sheetal walked up to me and said,"Because my wedding is today, I had to get ready for it, including applying my makeup." I responded as I adjusted my earrings. "Riya, I think you look stunning today. May God keep the evil eye away from you." Sheetal slipped a small dot of kajal behind my ear and murmured, picking up the kajal from the dressing table. "Now that Harsh has already committed theft, no one even dares to steal Riya from him. Am I correct, Riya?" As he walked inside the room, Rahul said. "I promised Harsh that he would be the first to see me dressed as the bride, so why are you still standing here? Get out of here." I responded while covering my face with my hands. "Riya, you did not accept my proposal; at the very least, you should have given me this right." I listened to him and could not stop giggling. "You no longer playfully fli

  • Unfulfilled desires   Double Checkmate

"Harsh's point of view,""Harsh, what exactly are you doing here?" Seeing me here, Riya is the most surprised person in the room. "I'm here to dispel some myths around Rachit." I responded while seated in the conference room's empty chair. "What do you mean?" When I noticed Rachit's confused countenance, I felt a great sense of relief. But aside from Rachit, everyone on the board was staring at me in shock. And from the way Riya was gazing at me with her curious eyes, she was not even blinking. "I'm going to call security right away to get you out of here because you may not meddle in our company's affairs in this manner." He gave me an evil-eyed stare. Because of listening to him, I was not in the smallest bit furious at all—because if he knows the truth; it doomed all of his hopes and aspirations to fail. After hearing what he said, I remained silently observing the situation in front of me without responding. "Harsh, please explain to me why you are here." Riya was becoming mo

"Riya's point of view,""How dare Rachit talk crap about you? Where are you driving me? I'll just show him what I mean." I was finding it very challenging to take Harsh to the hospital. I would not have brought Harsh to this party if I had known that he would respond to Rachit's remarks in this manner. "Enough is enough; you are now silently accompanying me to the hospital, and I will not put up with any more of your nonsense." I glared sternly at Harsh. He had just left the hospital a few days prior, and in this circumstance, seeing the injuries on his hand, I was concerned about him. He was gushing blood from his hand. As a result, his body was already running low on blood, and he didn't need to waste any more of it by spitting it out in fury. After all, whatever is taking place, I did everything to save his life, so how will it work if he continues to endanger his life in this manner? "Riya, why are you crying now?"Although Harsh and Rachit's argument causes my ire, Harsh's

  • Unfulfilled desires   Men will be men

"Riya's point of view,""Riya, are you certain you're attending Rachit's party?" When Harsh saw me getting ready for the party, it startled him to see me at all. I said, applying eyeliner to my eyelids. "Yes, of course." "How are you going to handle that man in such a civilized manner? Have you forgotten what he did to you?"I know he has cause for anger, but I must still work to make sure that he does not mistrust me by following his instructions to carry out my plan."Harsh, I remember everything and have forgotten nothing, but it is improper to be personal while conducting business. I also had to go to his party because I am his business partner." I said, finishing up my makeup. "Well, if that's the case, I'll accompany you, so you won't have to go alone to that party. Beyond this, you won't challenge my choice because it is definitive." He announced the outcome while collecting his tuxedo from his wardrobe. "Do you not feel that you are dominating too much?" I asked, raising m

  • Unfulfilled desires   Her soft touch

"Rachit's point of view,""Welcome, Riya. All I did was wait for you." As soon as she walks into the meeting room, she immediately creates positive energy in the room. The scent of fresh roses might ease any person's exhaustion emanating from their bodies. "What type of urgency has arisen for you, Rachit, that you wanted me to be here so quickly?" She fixed her piercing eyes on me. I wanted to tease her further when I saw how angry she was and had a crimson face. My choice was perfect, but I was unfortunate in that I could not understand her love. I'm still incredibly remorseful about the time I broke Riya's heart. Maybe today Riya and I would be together, and my child would also be here if I hadn't married Shilpi to protect the family business. But all I can do is regret it. Riya has lived her life with Harsh rather than me. I did all in my power to get her back in my life, but I can no longer see the love that I once saw in her eyes. The only girl in my life who turned down Rac

"Riya's point of view,""Riya, I miss you." He said, holding me in his arms as soon as I got in front of him. "I could not bear to be apart from you." My arms went around him with the same force as his. "Have you taken your medication yet?" I asked while keeping my head in his chest. "Yes." He responded in a quiet voice. After hearing his low voice, I knew he had lied to me. "I am aware of how negligent you are of your health."I remarked while slapping his shoulder. "Sorry, I forgot to take the medicine." When I saw how freely he was smiling, I realized that he still had many of the same habits. "If you made a mistake and are still laughing about it from on high, it's time for you to take some medicine." I said in a commanding voice. "Riya, you must learn to treat me with respect since I am your future husband and not an employee of your company." He answered by pouting like a child. I pulled his cheeks and whispered, "I wish you were one of my employees." "I'd rather not wor
