"Fire!" Maya exclaimed.
With sleep still laced in my eyes, I began to run in circles in search for safety. I ran past mother on the couch and made it for the door. The minute I stepped out of the house and banged the door, there was a loud gong in my head.
Was it mother that I just passed?
I frowned then held a hand to my chest. The house wasn't burning when I ran down the stairs. Our smoke detector didn't go off, so what the hell was Maya up to?
With wrinkles on my forehead, I lazily pulled open the door and went straight to check my calendar. Tracing a finger on the paying and stopping on today's date, I confirmed that it wasn't my birthday.
Grumpily, I made my way to the couch and stared at my mother. I blinked rapidly and tried to analyze what was going on.
"Mom?" I called, but there was no reply.
Mother was dressed in a black gown and she sat stiff, e
We locked gazes and the corners of his lips twitched into a smirk. With the roll of my eyes, I averted my gaze to a much important person–Cameron. He smiled and the crinkles on the sides of his eyes made it obvious that he was genuinely happy. He stared around the living room with a smile that could not be contained. I made my way to where he was and hugged him, squeezing him a little."Someone missed me." He wriggled his brows and I hissed, playfully shoving his head back a bit."Baby!" Maya exclaimed, hugging her boyfriend so tight it made me yearn for mine.Speaking of my boyfriend, where was he?I turned and scanned the place for my boyfriend then spotted him
Tristan grinned evilly before he plastered his lips on mine. He locked my bottom lip with his lips and vice versa. Tristan's hands went all over my body and when the image of him and the so called Lola flashed in my head, I pulled out."What's wrong?" He asked when I refused to put my head on his."Nothing." I lied, walking away from the bed to view my beautiful self in front of the mirror."C'mon, babe. Talk to me, please." He took baby steps to where I was and wrapped both hands around my waist.Shrugging it off, I replied, "I'm okay, there's nothing wrong with me."Tristan groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose as he wakes back and forth in my room.
Maya and I glanced at each other before pushing back our heads and barking out a loud laughter from the back of my throat. Tristan and Josh made their way down the stairs and I smiled at Tris. Even with sleepy eyes, he looked sumptuous and absolutely handsome.Josh on the other hand was shirtless. His hair was messy, but it didn't tickle my fancy even for a little bit. He had on black shorts and his muscles flexed with every step he took."Why didn't you just walk in naked?" I muttered and he caught my gaze."Because I know y'all wouldn't be able to stand it." He smirked and winked."Because you'll be too disgusting to look at." I hissed and dusted the couch with a rag. "Good morning, baby. How was your night?" I directed the questio
I glared crossly at her and took my seat–my appetite was gone. I didn't like her one bit and I wanted her out of my house.I took my plates to the kitchen and dumped it in the dish washer before walking back to the living room."What's wrong with your face?" Josh directed the question to me and I puckered my forehead at him."None of your business, dimwit." I snapped and plopped down on the couch next to Maya.Tristan and Cameron sat together and talked about boy things, while I was having a glare battle with Josh. Lola occasionally flirted with him."Who's in for some nasty truth or dare?" Josh asked, glancing at our faces. "Or should we play deadly dare or dare?
The harsh banging sound of our living room door was the last thing I heard from Maya earlier today. She was mad at me and didn't return my calls or my text.I tossed on the bed and focused my gaze on the door, wishing it'd creak open with Maya's eyes shining from afar, but it didn't happen. I waited till my lids became heavy. Maya had gone to where I had no idea about. Was what I did that bad that she had to push me away in such a manner? No one answered the question I had asked.I looked to the right and sighed when there was no best friend sleeping like a hobo beside me. I rubbed my palm on the empty bed space beside me before my eyes enveloped each other.Sun rays pierced into my windows and fried the skin of my closed eyes. I groaned.I had left the windows open, hoping Maya would crawl back in. Wait, did I forget to close the window?Quickly, I jum
Both our eyes widened and our jaws slacked to the bed as we stared at each other, confusion forming lines on our foreheads."Tristan!" The lady like voice called again and that was all we needed to push us out of the bed.Quickly, Tristan ran to the door and plastered his ear on it. "It's my mother."Tristan whispered and rushed back to the bed. He gave me my clothes and I dug my leg into the cargo pants."Coming, mother!" Tristan exclaimed, rocking back and forth butt naked on his heels. My heart pounded loudly and when I was done dressing, I heaved a sigh of relief and watched Tristan as he hurriedly walked to the door. Just when he was about to twist the handle, I noticed something and pressed my hand on my lips."Tristan!" I whispered, stressing the tone and he glanced over his shoulder. "Why are you naked?"He stared down at his body and face palmed–A soft g
She grinned like the Cheshire cat and stepped aside for us to walk in."I'm not here for pleasantries," I started, walking into the house and glancing from left to right. "I'm here for my best friend."Maya walked down the stairs with a backpack strapped to her shoulders. Her eyes were puffy and bloodshot. Her nose was red from blowing too much mucus."Calm down," Lola said, rolling her eyes at me. "I didn't steal her. She showed up at my house last night and I allowed her to spend a night here. It's not like I'm fucking her or something.""Are you okay?" Ignoring Lola, I rushed over to where Maya stood and enveloped her in a hug."Mmhm." She sniffled, hugging me back."What happened to you?" I asked, checking her face for any bruises. "I'm sorry for what I did. I have no idea what entered me... I just felt jealous that you had someone and I didn't.""It's okay,
Lines of confusion formed on my forehead as I glanced from Maya's face to that of her aunt. What were they both talking about? I was as lost as a stray cat.Her aunt sat behind the desk and she looked to be in her middle twenties, but very young. My eyes involuntarily drifted to her boobs and noticed the white long sleeve she was putting on wasn't thick enough because I could see that she was wearing something pink inside. Her boobs were palm size.My eyes went higher and noticed glasses sitting comfortably on the brim of her nose. She rested both her elbows on the desk and clasped her fingers, glaring crossly at Maya."Please, don't tell my parents." Maya begged, raising her head for the first time since we arrived her grandfather's hospital. "They'll kill me and never trust me again."I was lost once again. I felt like a foreigner in a strange land and it felt like nothing they said made any sense to me. Did Maya kill someone? What in God'
