LUCIAN
I picture Blair’s calm expression. The way she’d looked when she was speaking with her old schoolmate. It wasn’t her real smile or anything but it was vastly different from what I’m seeing now.
There is no mistake about them not being friends if their interaction is anything to go by.
I’d heard part of their conversation. So it wasn’t really hard to note.
“You look like you’re about to deliver some type of bad news.” She spoke when I didn’t say anything.
When I’d dragged her here, I had everything I wanted to say on the forefront of my mind. Watching her like this, the words have disappeared from my head and I’m left watching her like some gaping idiot.
BLAIRI was feeling pretty murderous.Lucian knew what the fuck he was doing. The backstabbing asshole.I wasn’t as upset with him as I was with myself. I was the one who fell for his stupid charms and smile. I believed his word, after he betrayed me the first time.He used the fact that I wanted him—purely sexual—to his advantage and he got what he wanted.Because after I left him in the drawing room, I went straight to dad and told him what happened. He hadn’t known either and he was fucking upset. Though he tried to downplay it so I wouldn’t be worried.“I’ll fix this.” He reassured me. “Just go back to the party and put a smile on your face. For
BLAIRI loved traveling, visiting new places and seeing diverse cultures.Summer vacations after I started college were home time, after being away. But when I was in high school and before that. Dad made sure we visited at least three countries before the end of summer. Those were the best times of my life. All my friends knew the way to my heart was mostly resort tickets. But now, I wasn’t excited about seeing where Lucian was from. I didn’t even want to look at him or think about that.He left last night, I didn’t say a word to him. I didn’t even look at him. When he spoke with dad, I pretended I wasn&rsquo
LUCIANBlair refused to speak to me the entire morning.Owen kept giving me knowing looks from the other end of the room. Her entire family, their workers and even my best friend seemed to be against me. I would have apologized if I knew it was going to help. It wouldn’t. So I didn’t bother. The officiant wed us and the entire process wasn’t up to five minutes. It was ironic, how something so big could happen in such little time. The man had looked unsure when he asked me to kiss the bride. I wouldn’t blame him, seeing as she looked like she was going to murder me the entire time we were standing
BLAIR I planned on ignoring Lucian and his friend for the entire flight. The other guy did nothing to me but him being friends with Lucian made him get on my backlist. I made sure to sit as far away from both of them as I could on the jet. I have never been this annoyed to fly private in my entire life. Usually I loved it. That counts only when I’m not on it with my worst enemy and his friend. When the plane took off, I settled more into the soft chair of the jet, ready to force myself to sleep. That would help me ignore the two men with me. And when we arrive at God knows where, I’ll find another way to keep myself busy. It shouldn’t be hard with my phone and an internet connection. Just when I was ready to slip into dreamland, I heard someone get into the chair bedside. Heard, because my eyes were closed. I planned on fully ignoring whoever it was. But they clearly didn’t get the memo. “Hi, I know you hate me too but I just want to let you know that I’m not Lucian.” I poppe
LUCIANI’ve known Owen my entire life, and I can count the number of times I’ve thought of killing him on one hand. In fact, just one finger. Right now.I wanted to throw him out of the plane when we’re thirty thousand feet high in the air. The asshole.Blair lets out another loud laugh. I grit my teeth in an attempt to hold in my growl.I told myself she was just laughing that loud to get on my nerves and annoy me. She was upset, so of course she wanted to piss me off.But I heard how pure it sounded. She sounded the way she had the night we met when she was talking to her friends. This wasn’t about me.He was really making her laugh. And it pisses me off.Which is also a first.Owen and I have always been opposites. He was easy going and charming, the ladies man. Women, and people in general liked him.I was more aloof and not very social.Maybe it was the alpha blood or something else, but I never bothered myself with trying to get people to like me. They naturally did that on thei
BLAIRI pushed away from Lucian like he burned me. He doesn’t try to hold me back as I stand.“What do you think you’re doing?” I give him my best glare. The best I could muster after waking up from a very relaxing and much needed sleep. I was sure Owen wouldn’t let him come even a hundred meters close to me and it was why I let myself sleep and I lost my guard.God, how many times will these men show me I can’t trust them?In fact. I can’t trust men. I can only trust my dad and maybe my grandpa. The rest of them, especially those close to Lucian, are just like him.“You need to get back in your seat and put-on your seatbelt.” He spoke calmly, probably trying to calm me down.“What? You’re going to lock me down to the chair now?” I snapped, placing my hands on my waist and planting my feet on the floor of the plane more.Lucian mumbles something I don’t hear as he runs his hands through his hair.I try to not notice how the move made his muscles flex. Or how he ran his hands through h
LUCIANI spend the half hour drive trying to control my body’s reaction to Blair being so close to me. Her scent surrounded me almost like I was in a cocoon of her warmth. The fact that the last time we were sitting in the back of a car like this, we’d been tearing each other’s clothes off.Suddenly, I was wishing Owen was still here.Back on the plane, I couldn’t wait to get away from him. I’m seeing how his being closed had simmered my reaction to Blair. Mostly because I was upset he was making her laugh. Even envious. But we couldn’t have driven together even if we wanted to.If my brother, Enzo, had been here, then that would have been a possibility. While there haven't been many attacks on alphas and packs like a few years ago. We still chose the safe route and went separate ways. Knowing that it was a possibility for one of us to not make it home. And it would be a whole new problem to have the alpha and beta both gone.Even that thought doesn’t make my temperature go down.I ha
LUCIAN“I hope with everything in me that you ‘forgot’ to tell me she was pregnant. And by forget I mean, your memories got wiped and you didn’t remember how to use your fucking words!”Jaya yells, following me into my office. The first place I went to.After her very stellar announcement of something I thought to keep under wraps. I needed a break.Blair had looked confused but she nodded nevertheless.Jaya made more discoveries in those short seconds as she held my new bride’s hand. And I watched as each and every one unfolded before my very eyes. She didn’t look very happy about any of it.But she made a great show of pretending as she welcomed Blair to the family and finally let her out of the car.She called one of the omegas that work in the packhorse and told them to escort Blair to her room. Since they knew she was coming, they had it ready. Then she followed me and now, she is yelling the house down.It is just my luck to have two women yell at me now. The consequences of my
BLAIR “Wow.” The loud exhale made me turn around. Lucian was standing at the door, dressed in a tux with his hair gelled back and looking so hot. And the look in his eyes, the way he was watching me like he wanted to ravish me. It made my lower belly pool with desire and I couldn’t wait for us to get back so he could tear this dress off. “I can’t wait either.” He says against my lips. He got close so fast, thanks to his werewolf speed. It really came in handy most of the time. “You look better than the moon and stars, my love.” I had to clench my thighs when he said that. Those were simple words that have been said a million times. But somehow, when Lucian says ‘my love’ it sounds like the best words to have ever been said in the world. Even better than the words of the angels. “If we don’t leave, I’ll probably undress you and have my wicked way with you.” I stared into Lucian’s dark eyes and nodded, agreeing with him. “If we don’t leave. I’ll let you undress me and have your
BLAIRI stared at myself in the mirror, turning from left to right to make sure the dress fit perfectly. Wait, I know the dress fits perfectly. But I wanted to be double sure. Okay, triple sure. Fine, the millionth time sure.Tonight has to be perfect.“B, you look great from all angles.” Mikayla says while chuckling.I startled a little at the voice I wasn’t expecting. I totally forgot I was on a call with her and Sasha and Jaya.“Kayla is right, B.” Jaya is the one that said that. “You’re making me rethink my sexuality right now.”I breathed in and out slowly.“Give me one more twils mama. That ass looking thiccc.” I rolled my eyes at Sasha but did as she said. The girls all hooted and clapped when I did that, which made me laugh. My girls are literally the best hype women out there.“Okay guys, wish me luck.” I said as I went to pick up the tab, I’d positioned it on a shelf where they could see everything I wanted to show them well.“Hope you get laid tonight.” Mikayla says with a
BLAIR“How did you know the walk was going to be short for me?” I asked the girl when we stopped outside a large abandoned looking warehouse. The doors looked like they were once a blue color but now, they were a lot in hues of white dust and dark brown.“Because I made it short of you.” I looked over my shoulder, looking for my dad. He wasn’t close to us. “Don’t worry they’ll be here in a bit. I think there is someone inside you’ll be more interested in seeing.”“Lucian.” I said, huffing out a breath. She nodded and motioned for me to walk ahead of her.The doors opened as soon as I was close enough, thankfully. I didn’t want to touch it even with a ten foot pole.Warmth enveloped me the second I stepped foot inside the building. I didn’t understand how a place that looked like it was going to be cold from outside would be this warm. Then I looked up and it all made sense. There were many girls, similarly dressed to the one that escorted us, sitting in a circle. They all had somethin
BLAIR“You know.” I said to dad. There was no uncertainty in my voice because I knew damn well what I was talking about.I give him credit for not denying as he lifted his head in a nod. My mouth hangs open in shock and I turn in my seat to glare at him.“What?!” The yell slips past my lips before I could control it. “Why didn’t you tell me?”I asked incredulously. I was feeling a tightness in my chest. A feeling I could only describe as betrayal fills me. I couldn’t believe it.Really, who does that? To their own child!“I only found out recently.” Dad said in his defense but that wasn’t a good enough reason. And he knows that too because he adds. “And I know I should have told you, but what difference would it have made? You’re what, seven months along?”He motioned pointedly to my obvious bump. I scoffed, rolling my eyes. I was still upset and I felt betrayed. I would think mum would keep something like this from me, her idea of protection. But dad? He trusts me. He always believes
LUCIANLiquid fire was shooting through my body. Heating my bloodstreams and everything else. Sweat didn’t only form on my forehead and other parts of my body, it dripped. Like water was being rained on me. It drenched me completely.A low growl starts from my chest. In my head it comes out loud and makes the place shake to its foundation. I feel everywhere move, then again, it might be only my body that is moving. It was like something was drained from my head. Traveling through my whole system and leaving through my feet. I’d looked multiple times to see if there was a fucking snake or something. But it is nothing. The only real and physical sign that this is actually happening, is the sweat that has drenched my clothes completely.I’m sure if you strained it, it would pour. I didn’t even know I was capable of producing such an amount of sweat. No matter how hard I worked out, I rarely sweat like this.God, what the hell is she doing to me?“How long do we have to do this?” I asked.
BLAIR“Lucian is fine.” Dad said, squeezing my shoulders gently.Probably for the first time in my life, I doubted him. He looked like he was saying the truth and on any other day I would have believed him. But things aren’t adding up.Lucian went missing and suddenly he is here. From Revdville all the way to Cuba and he wants to tell me nothing is done? I’m not a child and I’m not stupid either.“Why are you here if you know he is fine?” I asked, the accusation clearing my tone.“Can we sit first?” I shook my head adamantly.“Blair, please.” He speaks in that fatherly tone and cupped my cheeks. “For your health, you shouldn’t be stressing yourself.”That made me cave and I took the seat like he suggested.“I’m seated. Now tell me what is going on.” I sounded like a demanding brat and he would have called me out on it any other day. But he let it slide, seeing how shaken I was.“Lucian is fine. And he will be fine.” The way he stresses the second part makes me have more questions. Wha
BLAIRLucian has been gone for the whole day. Well, for the three hours I’ve been awake. I even went out and took a walk around the place. Asking the people I ran into if they’ve seen him. But describing a man to strangers, even your husband, was hard.I liked to believe they understood what the hell I was saying since their answers were all no. I looked around the house more thoroughly when I returned. It isn’t like he is a needle that could get lost. Lucian isn’t even a small person to begin with. And let's not forget the commanding energy he has. I would feel it if he was present. But he isn’t.And I searched everywhere, hoping I would at least find a clue where he went. Or a note that I might have missed by mistake. There was neither of those things. Can a big ass adult go missing?I even considered him getting lost. But the man has better navigation than me. He remembers all the turns in all the places we went. He also had his wolf sense or whatever to tell him if the place he wa
LUCIANI was given a chair while Owen was tied to the ceiling by his hands. His mouth was still gagged but everything else was intact. If you asked me, he got off easy. I would have done worse to him if I were the redhead. But seeing as I was at her mercy too, I didn’t speak.I needed her help, so it is better she ignored him and got started on me.“How long do you think this will take?” I asked. She ignored me and kept moving around the place. Touching stuff and correcting the girls that were now sitting around in a circle. All of them were holding trays that had some weird objects on them. It looked like they were getting ready to perform a ritual. And well, I’m not really keen on being the object of those things.“As long as it takes.” She replied, after taking her sweet time. I’d almost given up on ever getting a response from her.“What exactly are we doing?” I said we, so she wouldn’t feel like I was dumping the work on her.I guess there is nothing I can say that’ll be right in
LUCIAN Before I could put the car in drive. A group of women appeared out of nowhere, rounding our car. They all looked like they were in their early twenties. About fifteen of them, dressed in all black. I glanced at Owen who looked more than relaxed. I wasn’t worried about anything but they were women. “We can’t fight women.” I told him silently. There was a woman, with bright red hair, glaring at the car with so much intensity. You would think she wanted to set us on fire or something. Owen noticed het too because he shrunk in his seat. “There’s a problem.” He whispers to me. I turned to him, seeing his eyes were on her. He was talking, but not moving his mouth as he did so. “You could mindlink, you know.” I told him. Wishing we were in an SUV instead of this car that was so close to the ground. An SUV is already intimidating. But this looked like a toy car to begin with. “In front of seers? That’s very dumb of you to think about.” I rolled my eyes. “Start talking. She lo
