As the movie draws to a close, I glance at Max. He seems to be enthralled by the whole thing, even though he has someone even more amazing right next to him. He is a complete wonder to me. How can someone want to date me, but not do anything with me?
My staring catches his attention, and he narrows his gaze at me. “What?” He asks, somewhat standoffish.
“I was just admiring your face,” I tease. I’m not about to let him know what is on my mind or else he might complain about my one-track mind.
Max’s face flushes as he turns to look back at the ending credits of the movie. “You’re nothing like those dragons,” he then mumbles.
My grin grows. “Is that an insult or a compliment?” I ask playfully. “Of course, I am not like those dragons. I’m real, they’re imagined,” I tell him, leaning in closer to Max. At first, he leans back, trying to avoid me, but soon enough, his back
The moment I am no longer laying on top of Max, he suddenly becomes overly conscious of his lack of a top. He rests his hands on his chest, trying to hide it from me. It’s a little strange, but perhaps he has a lack of confidence? Is that why he keeps stopping me?If this is the reason, then I might encourage him to realise he has nothing to be shy about. With this in mind, I lean over and use one hand to lower his, while my other hand cups his cheek. He looks at me in surprise but doesn’t prevent me from doing so.“Max, you don’t have to hide your body from me. Whatever reason you think you have, trust me when I say this; you are sexy. Just because you wished for this doesn’t mean my actions are only because of what I originally came here to do,” I tell him. My words kept soft so he might know how genuine I am being. The way he blushes tells me I might have hit the mark on my guess. I’m not lying, exactly. I do still wa
A few days have passed now, and I am still nowhere near figuring Max out. He has avoided any attempt I have made to get close, and no matter how much I try to talk to him about his avoiding me, he just tells me it is nothing and to stop worrying about it.How can I not worry!? He says he wants to date me, but he doesn’t want to do anything more than a kiss, and even then he gives me the cold shoulder soon after. For a God, I am wondering if I am just not adequate enough for mortals? Do they have such high standards now that I am not good enough for them? All this self-inflicted torture has me going in circles in my mind and after a brief scolding by Max for once more thinking ‘only of sex’, I can’t help but get annoyed with him.“Do you even want to be my lover, Max!?” I ask him bluntly. I’m already regretting this argument of mine, but if we don’t talk this out, I am going to have blueballs for the entire year!
Finally, getting out of the house and not just shopping has me excited about what I might do or find out here. It has been too long since I have had time to just spend time to myself and although I have lived for so long, it doesn't mean I have spent any of that time pretending to be human. As soon as the two of us had gotten into more casual clothes that Max found agreeable, we were finally outside and he took me to some bars that were close to his apartment.“Be on your best behaviour!” Max warned me for the tenth time. “No magic, transformations, nothing strange!”“I know! I know,” I respond, holding up my hands innocently. “Nothing I will do will be something humans themselves cannot do. I swear on my pride as a dragon!”With a sigh, Max gives up lecturing me and instead says, “no being jealous of my friends either. You absolutely must be kind to them.”“I’ll be kind,&rdquo
I could sense Hafgan’s soul close by on the way home from the night out. I was sure of it, but where he was or if he was going to try to possess Max, I wasn’t certain. So far, it seemed to avoid getting close enough to him for me to get an expert judge of his plans.I could only assume Hafgan was too afraid to get close to Max at all, and that meant he knew who I was and what I was there for. What he would do now that he knew I was there, I wasn’t sure, but this avoidance of me was not mistaken for anything else.Max caught up to me and placed his hand on my arm. “Arwen? What are you doing?” He asked. He had a tipsy smile on his face from the drinking he had partaken in.“I was…” I paused. Could he not see Hafgan’s soul? I shook my head. “The soul I am after is near, but it fled when it saw me,” I told him. The way he looks up at me, all doe-eyed and sleepy. He looks so cute that I want to just e
For the next few days, Max has work, which does not settle my nerves. Now that Hafgan has shown his ugly soul-face, I cannot leave Max alone for fear he might get possessed. I try to stay out of his way of work as a whole, but I keep myself within reachable distance.I hope he doesn’t notice me. He might get upset with me for following him to work, and he has been adamant from the start for me to never do that. I don’t want to upset him now, after getting this far with him. Not that it feels like we’re a couple yet, but baby steps. For the first hour, I sense nothing irregular, so I spend most of my time outside in the gardens close by, but it doesn’t take much longer than that for Hafgan’s soul to show up. I quickly make my way inside and corner Hafgan in the sea area.“You must fight me!” I tell him, not paying much attention to the rare guest in the area. Hafgan makes no response to me, just shimmers. That is w
Before I land the blow, I force myself to avoid hitting Max by twisting my body. Hafgan was right about one thing and that was I did not wish to bring harm upon Max, no matter the cost. I gasp as I hit my hand against the closest thing that wasn’t Max; a lamppost. Had I been a human, that would have been far more painful.“W-what are you thinking!?” Max asks in an accusatory tone. “I scold you, so now you want to hit me?!”I look right at him and frown. “You don’t know, do you?” I ask, and it is clear from his expression that Max does not know Hafgan has possessed him. Or at the very least, he does not know what happens when Hafgan is the one in control.“Know what!?” Max demands, his glare cutting me down into pieces as easily as any sword. The worst thing about all of this is that he wouldn’t believe me, even if I told him the truth.I grit my teeth and close my eyes, trying to calm mysel
The night alone felt long compared to the previous night when I had slept next to Max. I woke up feeling disoriented and unimpressed with how much one night with the man had changed me somehow. Whatever the reason, my body yearned to be next to his.I stepped into the living room, where Max was already up and about. Or I assumed it was him. I couldn’t be completely sure, as there was no way to distinguish the two of them. I just had to take my chances.“Are you still mad at me?” I questioned who I hoped was Max.As soon as he turned to look at me, I let out a sigh before lowering my head an inch and growling. It was Hafgan, and he was smirking at me widely as if to mock me.“I was correct in my assessment,” Hafgan smugly claimed as he spread his hands out wide in a dramatic pose. “You won’t hurt this body for fear of upsetting the host. It really is the perfect body for me
Watching Max eat, I stay silent. He has been so pissed off with me, but there honestly isn’t anything I can do about this. He will not fight me, and nor does he believe me that Hafgan possessed him. I’m not sure what else I can do.“You’re hiding things,” Max mutters after finishing the last mouthful. “Just spit it out.”I offer a wry smile. “Nothing so worrisome,” I tried to assure him. The look Max gives me does not tell me he believes me. “You wouldn’t believe me even if I told you,” I add, but that glare does not fade. I sigh and collect the dishes and mutter, “if you battled me, everything would fix itself… but you’re too stubborn, so can we drop it?”“You’re the stubborn one!” Max raises his voice at me. “That’s all you want! Fighting and sex! Don’t you dragons ever think of anything else!?”I blink at him and then look up in exasperation. Of course, we think of things outside of those two. There is just not much I can talk about that Max would understand or care about. Still, I
I would like to thank all of you who stuck with me through this series of books, and even those of you who have only read this book (or just two of the three). It has taken me a year to work through all three books, but I was determined to do my best to end the series on a sweet note. If you enjoyed this book and haven't read the other two in the series, please check out Under the Pale Moon (book 1) and Under the Blue Moon (book 2). Both are here on GN. If you'd like another BL book, check out Subduing the Alpha or I am Not Your Love Story which is also on GN. Please note that Subduing the Alpha has two versions, the completed BL version and the hetro version which is still being edited for a female lead. And, if you're tired of romance stories and would like some adventure and fantasy, please check out Adventures of the Crown. Book 1 is completed and book 2 is ongoing. Both are on GN and MN. Also, if you liked my book please leave a review and a gem! I would be eternally grateful
With lips interlocked, I felt Max’s legs lock around my hips as I slammed hard into him again and again. Last night’s round hadn’t been enough for him, and I was happy to oblige his mood for more. With his stamina, I knew he wouldn’t settle down until I had completely satisfied him. Another moan escaped from his mouth into mine as I felt his fingers tighten in my hair. He was near the edge of his limits again, and so was I. With a few more thrusts deep inside of Max, I felt him tense around my shaft for a moment before a louder moan escaped from him. With his panting and the warmness now against my skin, I knew he had cum. I offered him one more kiss, which he greedily accepted. With him completely in the moment, I thrust in and out of him a few more times before finding my successive release. As I rolled onto my side, I closed my eyes and breathed in heavily. I was exhausted, and all I could wonder was how did Max have so much stamina? I soon felt a warm and cold tingle against my
Gazing around the hotel, I couldn’t help but feel somewhat nostalgic about being back in the mortal world. We only had the weekend before our time ran out. There were too many royal duties to take care of, and for only so long, I could leave Harri in charge. Though he wasn’t entirely alone. My father had agreed to act as his advisor. While he wasn’t sure about Harri, he saw no reason to spark up the old rivalry he and Hafgan had once shared. He merely felt it was best to make sure Harri had someone to help him if he needed it.“Are you thinking about home again?” Max said, catching me in my thoughts and calling me out on them. He smirked and shook his head. “They’ll be fine,” he added and ushered me further into the hotel. The mortal realm seemed no different. The slight imbalance had done no lasting damage to how things worked. In fact, the humans had not even noticed any differences, and still did not know about the supernatural beings that shared their space. It was so safe that I
As I wait at the royal altar, I gaze over at all the different people standing at the pews. Although I would have not minded making this a small wedding, my father and mother both handled everything. From the location, to how close to old customs we went and to the dress code.To my surprise, even the phoenixes had come to see me marry Max. Thankfully, nothing had gone haywire between our three groups and we were now on decent terms. I wouldn’t say we were friendly, exactly, but everyone was slowly coming around.Harri stood next to me. He looked more nervous than I was, yet I was the one being married. Anything could happen, or could go wrong, someone might have an objection to the union, or someone might try assassinating someone. There were so many variables that could go wrong. As the organs started playing, my heart pounded rapidly against my chest. This was actually it. I had waited so long for this moment, and now it was here. There have been times I thought I would never get m
I never thought this day would come. I could feel the wave of emotions drown me as the tailor forced me to stand perfectly still while they dressed me for the occasion. All that was now left were the last few preparations, but it seemed like it was taking forever to get them all done.Harri was in the room with me so that the tailor could do the last few adjustments on his clothes, too. He was utterly silent, despite how joyous the occasion was. I tried to reach out to him through my mind, but he shut me out easily. Ever since he and Max had reached maturity, he had become much more standoffish with me.Once the tailor had finished, I ordered them out of the room so that I could speak with Harri privately. If he didn’t want to converse through our minds, then perhaps the issue was something that could only be handled with no one else around.I glanced at the door briefly. We had a little time before we needed to go, so if I was to find out what the issue was, then it had to be now. Tu
As soon as I stepped through the portal, I spotted Max being swarmed by those who had tried to help us before. I wasn’t sure how they would feel about Max being almost as old now as he had been when he had ‘died’. The last they had seen him, he was nothing but an egg. Yet time hadn’t been so long for them. Zach and Rem’s daughter was still relatively young in comparison. However, she was walking now, at least. She was bright-eyed and full of wonder and if I didn’t know any better, I wouldn’t have known she was a born Spirit. I wondered what her future would be, but with how safe things seemed, I was sure she had a bright life ahead of her. “I can’t believe how big he has gotten already,” Zach said as our group showed Max around various locations around Cardiff to see if any of them sparked any memories of his. “Loona has skyrocketed, but she is only slightly above human average,” he added as he pushed her along in the pram. She might have been old enough to walk, but
It had taken me most of the night to get the message across to the group I had planned to meet us. When I had finished, I went to bed, not knowing how long Max would give me before he decided he had waited long enough. I must have been in such a deep sleep when Max showed up, as I didn’t hear him enter my bedroom. It wasn’t until I heard some faint whispering in my ear that I knew anyone was there. My eyes snapped open while my body went into fight-or-flight mode. Had I not realised who it was, I know I would have lashed out. “S-sorry,” Max softly apologised. “I called your name outside several times, King Arwen, but you were still fast asleep.” With a long sigh, I shook my head. “It’s fine, just be careful, Max,” I replied and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. “It took a little while to get our guides to agree to our visit, so I was awake late.” Max nodded slowly. As I sat up in bed, he twisted around so that he couldn’t see my half-naked body. I rarely
With time working differently here than on Earth, it felt like no time had passed at all since Max and Hafgan, who we had renamed Harri, had grown up. I had spent as much time with them as my duties had allowed, and trained them in the ways of dragon-kind, along with Healing-Frost. She had been a wonderful surrogate mother for the twins, and with her on my side, the other ice dragons seemed more at ease and followed her suggestions to work together towards peace. I couldn’t have asked for a better helper than her. Thankfully, Harri had never questioned his new name or brought up any memories from his past life as Hafgan. Both me and Healing-Frost had been keeping a close watch on him and his mind, just to be certain. I wasn’t sure if the phoenix had planned for the two souls to be split into twins, or for Harri to not have his memories, but I was thankful. Harri had his own body once more and had no drive to forcefully take the throne, and that was all that m
A little over a month later…My feet pound on the stone floor as I make haste towards the hatchery. I can’t believe it is finally time. I thought the egg would never hatch, but now it was finally time. My days have been filled with wondering when this day would finally come.As I entered the hatchery, my feet skidded across the ground until I found my balance again. Most of our eggs have hatched now, but Max’s egg was finally ready. I stared at the door to the cold room. I hesitated for a moment, wondering if I could handle what might be a disappointment if who hatched was not Max at all.Shaking my head, I knew I couldn’t wait any longer. I absolutely must find out who it was that had been reborn. So far, no one could sense the one inside of the egg. It was agony not knowing, but I busied myself with my duties.Opening the door, I felt the coldness hit me. It was like a freezer in here, and only Healing-Frost and the egg could ha
