Lina and Eon sat next to each other inside Eon’s eighteen-seater private plane. They were sipping some wine, faint music floated inside the plane and the cabin attendants were nowhere to be seen as well as Eon’s right-hand man, Ehann. They must be somewhere inside the plane but they hid to probably give her and Eon some privacy.

They were just the passengers of the plane, other than the two cabin attendants and the pilots for a more than ten hours flight to a small airport in South East of Ireland for it was the nearest airport to where her mother was.

The flight would take longer because they will have a two hours layover in Hong Kong. She didn’t exactly know why but she overheard a conversation between Eon and the pilot that there was some business that Eon had to settle.

She wasn’t in a hurry to meet her mother until now, she wasn’t sure if she really wanted to talk to her about the circumstances of her birth. The main reason why

The humming in her head went quiet the moment Eon kissed her. The questions that were causing her anxiety due to uncertainties disappeared as though the future no longer mattered. Her eyelids slowly fluttered when Eon raised his mouth away from hers but didn’t pull back.“Lina.”The way he called her name in a soft tone of voice caught her by surprise, her eyes stared right into Eon’s and noticed that his eyes were jet black with a speck of gold. “Galan,” she whispered back.Eon blinked and his eyes returned to their normal color. “What did you say?”“What?” She also blinked her eyes in confusion and leaned back to put a gap between their faces for it appeared that Eon had no plan to get away from her.“You call me with a name…” He tilted his head to the side, pulling the small of her back closer to her but her seatbelt hindered his action. “Galan, you said.”

The only noise heard between the three of them at the table was the cutlery and the faint music being played somewhere in the plane. By now, she realized that Eon likes jazz and classic—if it was his choice of music that has been playing during the duration of their flight. They were still on the air and Eon asked that they have their meal together. Thus, Ehann was sitting with them in the rearranged seat that allowed them to sit comfortably around a table. The food was great. The only problem was, Eon hasn’t talked to her and it’s slowly pissing her off. She took another sip of her wine, glaring at Eon. Ehann noticed the awkwardness between them and squirmed in his seat.[Eon, what are you doing?][Shut up!] He snapped at Ehann, giving him a warning look.Lina saw the exchange of glances between the two men that flamed her frustration towards Eon’s giving her the cold shoulders. She couldn’t understand why he was sulking jus

  • Under The Waning Moon   You Are Bigger Than Your Fears

It was just her and Eon in the car and Eon was the one driving. She asked him to open the window for the view outside was too beautiful not to admire. Also, because she needed the air to breathe. Since they landed, her heart hasn’t stopped pounding like crazy and Eon’s advice of not overthinking wasn’t possible at all. She heaved a deep sigh, watching the beautiful greenery outside the car’s window. According to Eon’s contact person, the drive would take them less than an hour. Her mother was in the garden, tending her plants. Lina scoffed when she heard her mother tending some plants. Her mother had always been a social butterfly. She would die if she couldn't see her face or her name wasn’t mentioned in social events. The image of her mother toiling the ground was something too foreign for her to even imagine. “We’re almost there.” Eon’s voice pulled her out of her thoughts. “I’m not sure I can face her.” She gripped her phone. She had all her quest

‘I never like you.’ Those four words were like a dull knife that kept on stabbing Lina in the chest as she kept on repeating those words in her head. She knew that her mother didn’t like her growing up, however, it was the first time that her mother told her verbally that she never liked her—and despite knowing the fact all her life, hearing them from her mother’s mouth still hurt. She slowly lowered herself to the ground. Sitting next to her mother but making sure to put enough distance between them.“I was younger than you when I met your father,” she said, her eyes glued in the distance, past behind the tall trees as if she was seeing the story she was telling her daughter behind those trees. “I was doing what other women my age were doing—finding a suitable husband.” A smile ghosted her lips as if she was remembering something fun and exciting. “I met your father at one of the parties my friend&rsquo

It’s fine,” he whispered back.Lina exhaled a big sigh of relief. She walked in silence next to Eon as they followed the man in the maze of hallways in this old castle that Lina felt like they were walking to a dungeon because they had been walking for such a long time. She had cried her heart out in the garden inside Eon’s strong arms while some nurses took her mother away. She was crying and screaming her name, cursing her for all the terrible things that happened in her life. Her hand clasped tighter around Eon’s arm and she pressed her side closer to him that he glanced over his shoulder, his brows knitting as he looked at Lina, plastering herself to his side. • Under The Waning Moon   A Sort Of Closure

Lina watched the side mirror, getting smaller and smaller behind them as they drove away. And a certain longing to return to it settled in her heart. Maybe in the future, she uttered inwardly.“Are you fine with the fact that your mother is being kept there?”Lina tore her eyes away from the side mirror when she heard Eon’s question. She didn’t answer his question but watched his handsome side profile as he drove. “I think keeping her there is a form of kindness.” She said after a while.Eon nodded. She’s right because if her mother wasn’t taken to that castle, she would be inside an asylum. With the way she acted towards Lina, it’s clear that she can’t live in the outside world anymore. She was too broken to function in the normal society.“She’s full of anger and hate that any form of explanation would be useless to her.” She sighed and looked outside the car’s window. &

Someone could help you there to answer your questions or we could reach out to Briare?” He said the name in a tone that didn’t think calling Briare was a good idea.Lina went quiet. There is no reason for her now to not believe what Briare and Brigette were claiming, however, she still wasn’t comfortable discussing things with them. “I want to know more about me before I’ll talk to them.” She said after a while.“It’s your call.” Eon took her hand again in his and this time even when she tried to pull it away from him, he didn’t let go until they reached the tarmac where Eon’s private plane was waiting. They had to fly to Maine and then took the long drive home

“Do you want to be the next Alpha?”Eon gazed at Lina’s eyes full of questions and he reached for her head and ruffled her hair. He smiled. “No, we aren’t born as puppies.” He shook his head in disbelief.Lina pressed her lips together, rolling her eyes. Eon clearly refused to answer her question by answering one of the stupid questions on her list. She didn’t believe in that question either. She just put it there on a whim. But the jerk was having a good time with it, laughing his ass off. He’s so annoying, especially when he laughed and the corner of his eyes crinkled and the sound that came out of his mouth sounded like a melodic rhythm. She crossed her arms over her chest in annoyance with the unfairness of life. Why does she always fall in love with a man that can never be hers? She swallowed the bitter smile before it escaped her lips.“It would be nice to have a puppy,” she mumbled under her brea

Lina woke up from the feeling of warm water gently splashing on her skin. When she opened her eyes, she saw Eon in deep concentration, washing her naked body in the tub. She looked to her right and noticed that they were in their own cabin. “Hey, welcome back.” He grinned, caressing her cheek. “What happened?” She asked in confusion. Eon had the audacity to smirk and arch his brow. “Well, sweetheart, I could remind you what exactly had happened,” he said in the soft tone of voice, flicking her nipple that was peeking on the water. “What a jerk!” She cupped some water in her hands and threw it to Eon’s face to wipe the smug expression on it. “You were asking,” he chuckled, wiping the water off his face as he stood up and started removing his clothes and without a word stepped inside the tub with her. He took the other end, opposite from her. He had his knees bent but his legs were wide open. Lina swallowed, and the thought of crawling in between his legs, to settle in the comfort

The murky water of the swamp rippled and then became calm again as if nothing had happened. The silver moon was high in the night sky and the gentle breeze blew as they all stood at the bank, watching the swamp in silence. The wedding bouquet that Lina threw in the water could no longer be seen in the dark. She stepped closer to Eon’s side who automatically opened his arm to enfold her.“Eon, Lina, we have to go. Thank you for inviting us to your wedding.” Briare’s voice broke the silence between them.“Thank you for coming for such short notice,” Eon replied, extending his hand for a handshake then realized that Lina was like a small chick under his right arm, that he had to move to his left and again offered his hand for a shake to Briare. “Hope to still see you at Luna,” he added.Briare smiled at Eon’s invitation but in his eyes was sadness that Eon could not help but wonder what this man had been

She lifted her gaze away from Eon for a few minutes and glanced at Elyon, Edina, and Ehann. They were all smiling at them, standing a few feet away from them.“I-I don’t know what to say. I couldn’t believe that you’re going to pull this kind of shit!” She slapped Eon’s shoulder as her eyes looked around the familiar path to the cliff that was decorated with white flowers. She wondered when Eon prepared all of it.“Baby, please, say yes and hurry because we are running after the sunset,” he laughed in amusement with the disbelief on Lina’s face.“Okay!” She laughed. Because of how overbearing he was with a smug look on his face to be able to catch her in surprise with her breakfast request, served in bed and the second factor was him, calling himself her husband. It does tickle her fancy. She definitely likes the sound of it. ‘Her husband.’ However, they aren’t married and they haven’t talked about marriage at all. They talked about children but a wedding was a topic that they haven’t touched. She didn’t know if it was avoided or just that they didn’t think about it. Thus, now that Eon is calling himself her

  • Under The Waning Moon   Whatever You Like

When Lina came out of the bathroom, Alpha Aaron was no longer in the cabin. “Where is your father?” She asked, scanning the room. She came out of the bathroom wearing lounge pants and a sweater. She had no idea whose clothes she was wearing but they were comfortable. The perfect wear for the cold mountain night. “He had to leave because the Alpha of Lykanthos was caught and brought here.” “Oh,” she said with a sharp intake of breath. “You aren’t going to—” She had no idea what Eon should or could do. He shook his head and opened his arms and she strolled inside them and pressed her cheek on her chest. “We are just guests here. Whatever business they have, they will settle them on their own. Besides, why would I want to meet another egoistic Alpha when I have a beautiful woman in my arms?” He whispered over her head, rubbing her back. The slow movement of his large palm, rubbing her back in a small circle is giving her soft feelings. Sh

After Eon and Ehann had a really good laugh because their premonition of Elyon having a mate twenty years his junior just happened. All the while the two were splitting their sides with laughter, she just watched them in amusement. It’s another side of Eon that she had witnessed.
