Jaxon's POV
"That reminds me" I began, " You will start your pet duties tonight when you come to my house."
I watched Riley’s face shift from disbelief to something close to panic the moment I told him about tonight.
“A car will be sent to your place this evening,” I repeated, drawing out each word slowly, watching his reaction with all satisfaction. “I expect you to be ready.”
Riley looked like he might faint.
He swallowed sliver, his gaze darting away as if he could somehow will himself out of this situation if he just ignored it hard enough.
“Tonight?” he asked, voice barely above a whisper.
His shock was amusing, but I could also see something else in his eyes—a hint of defiance trying to break through the fear. And just as quickly, it vanished.
“Yes, tonight,” I confirmed, raising an eyebrow. “Surely you didn’t think we’d waste time. Or is your memory already failing you?” I folded my hands, enjoying every word. “There was a rule in there about obedience, wasn’t there?”
Riley’s lips pressed into a thin line, and I could see the anger in his eyes before he managed to suppress it.
There it was—my favorite spark of rebellion.
As tempting as it was to snuff it out, I also enjoyed watching him try and fail to stand up to me.
It was like witnessing a slow fall, inevitable and predictable, yet endlessly satisfying.
Still, he gave a stiff nod.
“Fine,” he murmured.
“Excellent,” I replied. “And remember, Riley, I don’t want any complaints. You agreed to this, after all.”
A flicker of hesitation crossed his face before he forced himself to straighten, meeting my gaze with a hint of that defiance returning.
“Understood,” he muttered, though I could tell he was barely holding it together.
Satisfied, I leaned back, allowing a small smirk to slip onto my face.
“Now, you should get back to work. I have a company to run, after all, and I can’t have my employees slacking.”
Riley looked ready to leave, but he hesitated at the doorway, turning back with a furrow in his brow.
“Wait,” he said, his tone firm despite his obvious discomfort. “This... isn’t fair.”
I blinked, momentarily taken aback by his unexpected resistance.
“Fair?” I repeated, a faint laugh bubbling up at the absurdity. “What exactly do you mean by fair, Riley?”
He looked away, clearly struggling to put his thoughts into words.
“If this arrangement is supposed to be...” he trailed off, choosing his words carefully, “mutually beneficial, then I think I should get a few... terms of my own.”
Terms? Now that was bold. And entirely unexpected.
I felt a chuckle slip past my lips before I could stop myself.
The idea of Riley, trying to wrestle even a shred of control in this situation, was almost endearing.
“Terms?” I echoed, amusement obvious in my tone. “Well, isn’t that precious.” I leaned forward, folding my hands on my desk. “Alright, go ahead. Let’s hear these so-called terms of yours.”
Riley swallowed, visibly bracing himself.
“First, we don’t... do anything in the office,” he said, his voice wavering just slightly. “Or anywhere public.”
Interesting.
Clearly, he still had a sense of self-preservation buried somewhere beneath that anger.
“Nothing in the office,” I agreed aloud, tapping a finger against my lips thoughtfully. “And nothing in public.” I let my gaze linger on him, watching as he shifted under my scrutiny. “Fine. Continue.”
He glanced away for a moment, as though gathering his thoughts.
“And... I don’t want you doing anything that might actually harm me. I get that you’re...” he paused, obviously choosing his words carefully, “intense, but I don’t want any lasting damage.”
I bit back a laugh.
He really was trying to establish boundaries, as if he thought this arrangement could be shaped to his comfort.
Adorable, really. But I allowed it, merely because I enjoyed seeing him try.
“No lasting damage,” I agreed smoothly. “Anything else?”
“And... don’t just summon me whenever you feel like it. Think twice before calling me at all hours of the night.”
This time, I didn’t even try to hide my amusement.
“Is that so? You’d like me to be considerate of your... schedule?”
“Yes,” he replied, his tone sharpening as he met my gaze, clearly determined to hold onto the last shred of control he could muster. “If we’re doing this, it has to be... reasonable.”
I let out a small laugh, unable to contain it any longer.
“Very well, Riley,” I said. “No calls in the middle of the night unless absolutely necessary. Anything else? Perhaps you’d like a vacation package to go along with it?”
The sarcasm in my voice was unmistakable, but Riley merely shook his head, his expression resolute.
“No, that’s it,” he muttered, clearly straining to keep his voice steady.
“Then we’re done here,” I said, dismissing him with a casual wave. “You may return to your work.”
Without another word, Riley turned on his heel, his face set in a tight expression as he walked out of my office.
I watched him go, allowing myself a small smile.
The satisfaction thrummed through me, a heady sense of control settling deep in my bones.
Riley was mine to play with now, whether he liked it or not.
He could fight it, resist it, but ultimately, he had no choice. And that, perhaps, was the sweetest part of it all.
I pushed myself up from my chair, moving to the window where I had a clear view of the office floor below.
Riley had returned to his desk, his expression carefully calm as he engaged in casual conversation with Chloe, the woman he seemed particularly close to.
I could see his shoulders relax slightly, his smile returning as she made some offhand comment.
He was putting on a brave face, trying to act as though nothing had happened.
But I knew better. Beneath that façade, he was conflicted, uncertain, a tangled mess of emotions he didn’t know how to unravel.
And tonight, I would enjoy watching him unravel even more.
This arrangement was going to be far more entertaining than I’d originally anticipated.
I need y'all's support on this book. So please, show me some love 🥺❤️✨🌈
Riley's POV I paced around my room, running my fingers through my hair for what had to be the fiftieth time. My pulse hammered in my chest, every beat a relentless reminder that the seconds were slipping by, and Jaxon’s car would arrive any minute. The weight of tonight’s arrangement pressed down on me, each detail like a stone in my gut. I didn’t know what to expect, but whatever it was, I doubted I’d come out of it the same.My eyes kept flicking to the window, as if I might see headlights flare up at any moment. I didn’t want to be caught off guard. I wanted a few more minutes of peace—or as close to peace as I could manage while my thoughts tangled like barbed wire. Just when I thought I might lose my mind, my phone buzzed, its vibration breaking the silence. I snatched it up, expecting a text from Jaxon, but my stomach lurched when I saw the name on the screen.Eric.I drew in a deep breath, forcing myself to calm down. Riley's POVAs we approached the more upscale part of town, the buildings grew taller, sleeker, and the lights brighter. I leaned back, forcing myself to keep my breathing steady. I needed to stay calm, no matter what Jaxon had planned. I’d agreed to this arrangement, however reluctantly, and I’d just have to endure it.But as the car turned down a winding driveway that led to an imposing mansion, my heart sank. The sprawling estate was bathed in a soft glow from the surrounding lights, its sleek, modern architecture framed by meticulously landscaped gardens. It was as much a fortress as it was a home, with high walls and security cameras stationed at every corner. The driver stopped at the front entrance, and I took a shaky breath, gathering whatever courage I had left. This was it—no turning back now.“Have a good evening, Mr. Lawson,” the driver said as he opened my door, his tone as professional as ever. I could only nod, forcing myself to take in the cool night air.The fro
Riley POV“How can one man be so annoying?” I asked, leaning against the breakroom counter, arms crossed tightly over my chest. My best friend, Chloe, nodded sympathetically, though her eyes were glued to the scene unfolding outside the large office window. Jaxon Steele, our boss and resident tyrant, was doing what he did best—tearing someone down.“You’d think with all that money, he could at least afford some decency,” Chloe muttered, pushing a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear as she watched in disbelief. I shook my head. "Decency and Jaxon don’t belong in the same sentence. He’s all arrogance and cruelty" I said with disdain obvious in my voice. We both stared as Jaxon’s deep, commanding voice echoed across the office floor. The poor guy he was ripping into—Eric from accounting—stood there shaking, his face turning redder by the second. Jaxon was relentless, his tall, muscular frame towering over Eric like a lion about to devour its prey.I hated him. Every fiber of my
Jaxon POVI stood there, fists clenched, jaw tight. Riley’s wide, panicked eyes darted between me and the half-closed door of the restroom, as Eric ran out without so much as a backward glance. Pathetic.Riley’s mouth opened and closed like a fish gasping for air. "I—I’m sorry, Mr. Steele, I didn’t mean to—"“Shut up,” I snapped, the sound of my voice cutting through his stammering. My patience was gone, burnt up by the embarrassment of being interrupted before I’d even had the chance to finish.Damn it.The thrill that had surged through me moments ago was replaced with a wave of cold, hard anger.Eric hadn’t even stayed to finish what he’d started. Coward.I gritted my teeth, turning away from Riley for a second, trying to calm the burning rage beneath my skin. My hands moved fast as I tugged my trousers back on, zipping them up with more force than necessary.I could feel Riley’s eyes on me, and when I glanced up, I caught him staring. Right at my still-hard cock.I raised an ey
Riley POVI lay in my bed, staring up at the ceiling, unable to shake the events from earlier that day.It was ridiculous, really, how my mind kept replaying the scene in the restroom. I should be disgusted, angry even—angry at Jaxon for humiliating yet another employee and then getting off on their misery. But my thoughts kept circling back to what I saw. Jaxon. In that stall. His perfectly sculpted body exposed. The way his muscles flexed, the anger etched across his face as he zipped up his trousers, still erect, like nothing had happened. Like I hadn’t seen the whole thing. And God, that body. My stomach tightened just thinking about it.His cock—large, thick—definitely not something I had expected from someone as cold and vicious as him. And yet, there I was, thinking about it.I shifted uncomfortably, squeezing my eyes shut in frustration. "Why the hell am I thinking about Jaxon’s dick?"I never would’ve pegged him as gay. Not with the numerous beautiful women I’d seen enter
Jaxon POVI stared across the table at the one person I never imagined would be sitting there—Riley Lawson. Of all people, him?"What are you doing here?," I growled, narrowing my eyes at him. He looked just as shocked as I felt, his expression a mixture of confusion and disbelief."What the hell are you doing here?" I demanded once again, folding my arms across my chest. "This is my table. I'm meeting someone."Riley blinked a few times, trying to find his words. His cheeks were already flushed, whether from embarrassment or something else, I couldn’t be sure."I-I’m meeting someone too," he stammered, tugging at the hem of his shirt like he was trying to shrink into himself. "They told me to sit here. Table 5."My stomach twisted, the pieces clicking into place far too quickly for my liking. The guy I had been chatting with on the dating app. The one I’d been exchanging messages with for weeks now. Could it really be…?"Wait." I leaned forward, my eyes narrowing further. "What’s yo
Riley POVI couldn’t sit still. My leg bounced under the desk as I continuously tapped away at my keyboard, but my mind was far from focused on work. The events of last night replayed in my head.Running into Jaxon—my boss—at that fancy restaurant, the horrifying realization that we’d been chatting on that app for weeks… And the things I’d said.I cringed just thinking about it.Sluttycumbottom12.I wanted to bury myself under the office floor just remembering those humiliating conversations. But what was worse than the shame? The fear that Jaxon would fire me. The way I’d stormed out of that restaurant, insulting him in the process… who was I kidding? This was Jaxon we were talking about—he didn’t take well to being disrespected. And now, I was sure I’d be out of a job before lunchtime. My heart raced at the thought.I needed this job. Rent wasn’t going to pay itself, and I had bills stacking up as high as the skyscrapers surrounding our office.Every time the elevator opened, I f
Riley's POV "I agree" I replied reluctantly. "I'll do as you say."As I stared at the ground, a storm of emotions swirled inside me: shame, anger, helplessness. This wasn’t a choice; it was survival. I hated every bit of my decision, yet I had no other choice. Losing my job wasn’t an option, not with the crushing weight of rent and bills hanging over my head. I had worked too hard to let Jaxon ruin it all, yet here I was, at the mercy of a man who took pleasure in watching others squirm."Good decision," Jaxon said with a smug grin, leaning back in his chair. He crossed one leg over the other, folding his arms in that infuriatingly arrogant way he always did. "Though I’m honestly not surprised. You’ve always struck me as someone who knew his place."I clenched his fists behind my back, hiding them from Jaxon's view. I could feel my nails digging into my palms as I forced myself to keep my expression calm. I didn't have the luxury to express my true feelings, not now. I tried t
