The two of them got out of the car one after the other. Before they could even reach the house, Jeana had already come over to greet them.

"Xav, why are you only home now?" she asked. Her face lit up when she saw Xavier. However, her expression shifted as soon as she noticed Yvette getting out of the car with him.

"Oh, you're back too, Yvette. Weren't you at a class reunion?" Jeana asked, as if afraid Xavier didn't know about Yvette attending the gathering.

Yvette was curious as to how Jeana knew about her attending the reunion. She'd only mentioned it to Noah. Could he have told Jeana? But he didn't like Jeana, so it didn't seem likely.

Wendy was the only other person present when Yvette had told Noah.

Wendy, who worked in the house, had recently gotten close to Jeana. When Jeana had gotten in a car accident not long ago, Wendy had even spoken up in her defense. Yvette had spent some time with Wendy and knew that the latter was a kind-hearted, simple woman without much guile.
