Jeana slowly released her grip on Yvette's pants. "Help me inform Xav, Yvette."

Yvette couldn't help but laugh. "Are you soft in the head, or am I? You asked me to let you stay, and I already agreed to it. And now, you want me to tell Xavier? Why don't you just ask him yourself?"

Taken aback by Yvette's quick wit, Jeana choked on her words. The nearby maid seemed to understand what was going on too. It wasn't that Yvette was petty, but that Jeana's intentions were questionable.

"You're making it seem like I'm the one not allowing you to stay, when it's clearly Xavier's decision. If my words had any weight, you wouldn't need me to talk to him, would you?" Yvette continued, leaving Jeana speechless.

After a long pause, Jeana finally managed to say, "Yvette, you misunderstood me—"

"Stop right there. I won't fall for your tricks. I have things to do. I'm not wasting time arguing with you," Yvette replied. She then took the umbrella from the maid and went to the car.
