Noah had been too impulsive to suggest leaving, even though he knew deep down that Yvette would never abandon Xavier when he was sick.

"I'm sorry, Mom. I was wrong."

"It's fine as long as you realize your mistake," Yvette said, gently patting his back.

Noah's eyes turned gloomy as he fell deep into thought. He'd always known how hard Yvette worked, which was why she mattered to him far more than Xavier ever could.

"Mom, let's go eat."

"Alright."

As they approached the dining table, Xavier was eating his meal in silence. He heard them coming but said nothing. After hastily eating a few bites, he stood up.

"I have something to do tonight. I won't be coming back."

Yvette was taken aback but didn't press the issue. She simply replied, "Okay."

Xavier was in disbelief; he still couldn't believe that he had lost his memories. He instructed Mark to take him to Empire Club, where he arranged to meet Tristan and Quentin.

Xavier took the seat at the head of the table, waiting. Soon, Tr
