Chapter 725

Xavier leaned toward Yvette, trapping her within his arms as he whispered those words in a hoarse voice.

Yvette was confused. "What do you mean?"

Xavier didn't answer. He leaned closer, his large hand falling on her face. He started to wonder if she was real when he felt her warmth.

His Adam's apple bobbed. "Aren't you supposed to be… dead?"

Yvette was even more baffled. "I know you hate me, but do you really have to curse me?"

"Do you know I've been looking for you for two years? All this time, you refused to appear in my dreams, but now you're here? Does that mean you're really dead?"

Xavier ignored everything she said. He was convinced that this was all a dream. "They say only the dead come to visit in dreams. So, are you really dead? Why won't you let me see you?"

With the power outage, the lights were out. Xavier hadn't realized he was blind.
