Yvette immediately answered when she saw the incoming call.

The caller didn't say a word. Yvette, too, didn't speak.

After making sure the others had left, Xavier was the first to break the silence. "Why aren't you saying anything?"

Yvette felt relieved upon hearing his familiar, cool voice.

"Where are you?" she asked.

"Is Claude with you?" Xavier asked cautiously. Given his recent injury, he had every reason to be on guard.

"He went out. I'm alone in the room," Yvette replied. Knowing that he still didn't trust her, she didn't press him on his whereabouts. Instead, she asked, "Why did you come to Asnea?"

"Work," Xavier said. Of course, he wouldn't admit the real reason was that he couldn't stop worrying about her and had followed her here.

Yvette didn't believe his excuse about work, but she let it go.

"When will your work be done? Go back as soon as you can."
