Xavier kept quiet. When Yvette walked past him, he grabbed her arm.

"I'm coming with you." There was no way he would let her meet his love rival alone.

Yvette couldn't help feeling stunned. "Why would you want to do that?"

"It's unsafe to be in another country. I can protect you by going with you," he lied without batting an eye.

It was true that it would be dangerous where Claude was. Xavier was worried that Yvette might be taken away again.

She'd left with Claude for years when she'd been deeply in love with Xavier back then. Now that she didn't love him as much as she had before, he wasn't willing to take the risk. He was scared of losing her again.
