Clifford was taken aback by their unexpected arrival. Grunting, he turned to Xavier. "Xav, why didn't you bring Zac along? This isn't the first time."

He yearned to take a look at his other great-grandson. People around him had asked around and told him about Zachary's intelligence. When the boy had run into danger last time, he'd carried himself with composure. He had clearly taken after his father.

"Zac has been staying with the Shaws lately. He'll be back home in a few days."

"Is he still with the Shaws? Oh, Archibald is such a shameless man. He's refusing to let go of my great-grandson because he has none," remarked Clifford with much glee.

Archibald had no idea that someone had just badmouthed him.

Clifford said to Xavier and the rest, "Take a seat. We'll be having dinner later."

"Sure." Xavier and his family joined the others in the living room. In their presence, Henry and Fiona dared not ask Clifford for money.
